Man you would be suprised on how well forced induction does on an LS engine. My buddy is makeing 500 hp with a Vortech system, and he gets 25mpg!!!! thats alot of ponies and awesome gas mileage!
LMAO, "I would rather keep mine stock w/exception of the kick ass exhaust, just to be easy on gas and last longer. It may be slower, but who cares when you get fun out of donuts and drifting:) 200hp could give you that, just not the rumble :)" can you say Douche

dude WAT THE FUCK ARE YOU SMOKING omg wow. well we all know who the biggest pussy is here. 200hp won't do shit. it will run 14 seconds or worse and who gives a fuck if it eats gas like no other. ur young live a little.....PUSSY!!!!!!!!!
if you want that then just get an import, this beautiful piece of American engineering was made to push out some horses thus letting you haul some ASS!!!!
i like camaros and i have a boaring old lt1 but what would it take to build say a 600 horse ls1 on the cheap if its eaven posible i personaly would start with an exhaust and a new intake but im in the middle between a turbo or a procharger some advice plz but first i have to buy an ls1 car
technically you can boost a 383, but as you said, you'd have to find the correct dished pistons. i just built a T88 boosted 408ci engine for my ws6. CR is 8.5:1, LQ9 (6.0L block), diamond forged pistons (custom cut), and eagle connecting rods ontop of a callies 4.00 crank.
Yea, I plan to build mine, but Im goin with aps tt kit on a built ls1. Bore it to 383 and prepare it for boost. No point in haven a broken engine after a couple weeks...
wow... Ill these years Ive been told if u wanna boost u MUST lower compression and change rods + + + + Well, good job then ! More Camaro Turbo vids please =D
You should lower compression, we don't recommend that much power on a stock bottom end, but if it broke he would have built a low compression forged engine.
100% Stock. Stock internals, stock heads, stock cam... The engine was never touched. 20,000 + miles before he sold it. The key was a safe tune and race gas. Our stock engine Escalade made 13 lbs. of boost on race gas and ran 12's weighing 6,050 lbs. even with the high compression engine.
real nice!

twin turbos on an aluminum block...how long until the motor goes 'pop'?
pointman922 3 years ago
It makes 640/640 and has been going strong for over 5 years and 40,000 miles.

Your obviously not too familiar with modern engines. Those aluminum blocks can handle quite a bit just fine.
