Only thing song I get a feeling it might be is "The Aviator - written by Michael McCann" He did the music editing on the film and has his own music production called "Behavior".
As a dj i imagined myself mad and deaf, partied my ass off more in 30 minutes then my whole life and was resurected like Jesus Christ. It was awesome.
I almost cried watching this movie.... If this happened to me I would do the same, I produce music, dj podcast, and I am a weapon specialist in the army, so the weapons really fuck up my ears, I just hope this never happens to me....
It's sad that dance culture as depicted in this movie is dying - the kids of today no longer want to feel the uplifting togetherness of house and trance music, it is more and more becoming the older generation who still listen to this music and remember this scene. I long for the golden era of dance culture 1991-2003.
Problem is, really good Drum and Bass don't work in these kinds of clubs. It's usually just a lot of people who just want to hear 170bpm but aint particularly into the genre so the Quality can take a back seat.
Real D&B tears it up in the clubs that are max about 150, 200 people.
With Ibiza house, people in these club expected the best and got it.
@DrumnFACE I like a fair bit of dnb but it's just not the same vibe as uplifting 4 to the floor big room house and trance music. As I said I do like a lot of dnb though. What do you think of London Elektricity and Hospital Records? My favourite dnb artist and label respectively.
My favourite producer High Contrast is on Hospital Records and theres a couple of old London Elektricity I used to really like. You listen to good stuff mate.
As for 4 to the floor being king of the big rooms yeah, I reckon you're right there. I'm just a massive D&B fan so I'm a bit biased.
Good progressive and hard house is absolutely killer in the Ibiza clubs.
@strike1337 I thought the same for a little while , I'm 17 and I LOVE trance/dance music so much its inspired me when I grow older I want to study music become a dj/producer thing, in fact im getting decks for christmas ! Anyways my point is if you go to Eastern Europe people are still all about dance music, and it pisses me off in the us its usually the opposite all this crap "music", elec/dance is still underground in the u.s. but it is growing, and its the best in my opinion.
@Quipsilon its growing that is for sure but i used to think the same as you that i was happy it was growing outta under ground now not so much its losing so much of its charm with all the littl epunks that go to concerts now and just spoil the vibe alot of people now arent just about the music and the people but about going some where to get high.... PLUR is pretty much dead man i mean look what happend at like EDC or HArd fest 09' its a mixed bag of good and bad that is becoming commercal HERE
@scoobes11 It's not the same man :( it's all discordant, grimy electro, drum n bass and dubstep nowadays, no longer the tuneful, uplifting melodies melodies, warm synths and pulsing basslines of proper 4/4 rave music. Plus the scene these days is filled with kids who want to look cool, not let themselves go and have a good time
@strike1337 i disagree with you. I think electronic music its getting better every year, the future seems bright for electronic music. Every year are different sounds, more forward thinking music. I respect the electronic music of the 90s, we couldn't be in the place we are now without it but I think the sound of today's electronic music is way better than what it was in the 90s, and it will get better every year.
@strike1337 Im 16, i produce and dj trance. I cant understand how people my age love this shitty maintstram crap thats overplayed on the radio these days.
@strike1337 i dont think so pal the about of young talent across the board in dance music is health as it ever been check of maya jane cole ,subb-an ,seth troxler ,tale of us,russ yallop
@jimmy08LTFC and none of those names ring a bell ... im 16 which proves that me and people my ages + younger have been brainwashed by 100% commercial shit! everyday i search youtube for good trance and house songs and its not easy.. those days are gone and i was to young when they wre here :'(
@strike1337 so true. David Guetta featuring Flo Rida, need I say more. Sorry to say it, I know House originated in America, but dance music belongs to Europe - We were good lol
I'm a Dj too and this movie gave me a lot of inspiration. I wanted to stop djing but after this movie i understood that the music is my life. Frankie Wilde is the fictional Dj god!! Thank you Frankie!
I really enjoyed this movie. I'm still dying to go visit Ibiza (need money first). It says at the very beginning that the story was based on a true story. Who's the true story about? I thought this was a fiction documentary. Thanks,
@catman4444 Groove is decent but it's more about the underground rave scene in the USA than it is about club life. It's also not very realistic at all. Much prefer UK/European clubbing movies than US ones - more true to life.
