US Postal Services electric vehicles department can issue licenses to local car builders to mass produce their electric vehicles and sell them to local communities.
If US Postal Services to start their social networks on Internet, they can beat Facebook and Tweeter and add values their services with closer connecting our communities around the world.
The postal service is a natural monopoly; what happens when you deregulate and privatize one of those is that it starts with a dozen corporations competing for the customers, but eventually all but 3-5 immensely powerful, multi-nationals are stomped out.
These multi-national predators then proceed to form a cartel, monopolize the market and pool their resources and use it to corrupt the political system and infiltrate the State to pass favourable measures(such as subsidies).
@atosafi1 What needs to be done to counter this is that we bring vital, societal services, such as banking, public transportation, electricity, water systems, postal service, education, healthcare, childcare, elder care, natural resources, energy, railways, pharmacies, telecommunications, and so on, under public control to make sure they are used to promote the welfare of the people, common good and long-term stability, rather than short-term profit-motives and irresponsible speculation.
I live in a rural area and I can not even get packages left for me I have to have someone drive me 20 miles to pick it up. I am disabled and unable to drive . I think the postal service need to step up and do a better job adding those things would really help out . They closed my local post office in my area and it really hurt the seniors and disabled folks in my area
What's old-fashioned about mail anyway? When people order things from Amazon.com as everyone increasingly is they're delivered by the post office. What are old-fashioned are brick-and-mortar stores.
3 Cheers for Bernie but I think he is fighting a losing cause. I am 1000% for the USPS especialy since we will need it after the collapse as the internet will probaly be shut down. Oh wells, third world here we come.
US Postal Services can sponsor a lot of new local shopping malls with their low cost dedicated delivery services.

Here's an idea: maybe the postal service could start up a 'public option' Internet Service Provision?

@valhala56 The postal service will need to change, but it still needs to exist. Many things will ALWAYS need to be delivered.
