  • THIS WASN'T A MISTAKE ! I WAS THERE AND WATCHED THEM PRACTICE IT.

  • ahaha!

  • this made me laugh pretty hard

  • forgot a solo too but still good songs

  • McCartney and Harrison are like "WTF?!"

  • I love them more when they make mistakes.. they're reactions are cute!!!!

  • Awww I think it's cute that even though he made the mistake Paul, George, and John just smiled at each other :)

  • but this not a weird thing, even beatles selfs explain that situation: "we sing crap and nobody in the audience cares cuz nobody ear us..."

  • get a life

  • Well that rules out lip-syncing..

  • @geoffstephen Beatles were genuine and original. Lip syncing, lol.

  • Love this moment

  • So they were human! I knew it, I knew it.

  • Everybody was screaming, they wouldnt have noticed the Beatles slipping up. They sang their harmonies too flat or too sharp because they couldnt hear themselves. And John would sometimes even deliberately change the words, for example "I wanna hold your gland (tit)". Who knew about it?

  • I thought George hit him in the face with the guitar.

  • John Lennon was NOTORIOUS for forgetting the words to his own songs. If you watch them do, "Help!!" on Ed Sullivan, he forgets where he is, and if you watch, "Don't Let Me Down," from "Let It Be," he does it there, too. These were just a few that were filmed.

  • oh, he made a mistake. gasp. he's human. what did you think..that he rode in on the holly-cochran comet or something? nice save, tho

  • HAHAHA. We've all been there. A mate of mine has a song that runs for about 3 minutes, and because of me ... it was closer to 1:30.

  • I doubt most of the screaming girls noticed any mistakes.

  • se coonfundieron jaja pero lo arreglaron al toque

  • How embarassing but he pulled it off okay.

  • Paul and George: what's he doing?

John: What? Oh... I think I made a mistake...

  • Paul and George should've followed the cue of Johns scream and talked about it later ;)

  • Lol, you can really hear how paul and john laugh while they're singing xD

  • @edwardLRS your the definition of an asshole -_-

  • I think either: John just mistakenly went to the guitar solo (instead of the bridge) too early, or, P & G mistakenly went to the bridge (instead of the guitar solo).

    Still sounds amazing.

  • Someone should have told John he can't do that... until later in the song.

  • that's one of the reasons they stopped touring, they couldn't hear themselves because of the girls screaming and would make mistakes because of that

  • I think they often made mistakes when they played in stadiums... Bad sound, no monitors to listen to themselves properly and all that screaming...

  • John always fucks up the lyrics. On the rooftop concert he just says gibberish when he was singing Dig a Pony

  • @edwardLRS it was joking gibberish bud

  • @paulftw4life He forgot the lyrics bud, he admitted that he constantly forgets lyrics in several interviews bud

  • @edwardLR ok scumbag

  • @paulftw4life Don't get mad at me because you didn't do your research

  • That is assuming that they were intending to mimmick the record. Most groups never play a song the same way twice.

  • Hooo it's nothing evrybody's makes mistake

  • I have heard John say in more then one interview that he was usually the one to "forget" or make a mistake and needed to be corrected in live performances. It hapens to every single performer to ever exist, being human and all.... I think mistakes are what make live shows the best, they are NOT perfoect as on a record.

  • lmao

  • SO WHAT! GET A LIFE. THESE ARE THE BEATLES, NOT SOME ORDINARY SCHMUCKS

  • I wonder how many times this makes for his singing this song. The mind wonders and you think you're on the third verse going into the guitar lead when you've really only sung two verses or whatever...........I guarantee no one there at that concert probably even noticed......or if they did, it didn't matter.

  • oh Lennon......

  • I love how he comes back and is totally, like i did that on purpose... while the other two are laughing.. :) haha classic John

  • john, often did that on stage. did not take away from the live performance thought, they are simply billions of light years ahead and beyond the rest. I do not even fully understand it myself, but they are certainly. I have seen them perform.

  • @alaskanbeatlesfan kinda doubt tht though

  • I thought he said

    "rubbed your rug"

  • I think John thought the lead was coming in after his scream, which it does at the right part of the song. But not where he screamed here, too early. haha

  • John was like: WAAAGHRR!!

    Paul and George like: lulz??

John: I don't get it.... WTF ooh shit! ........ *singing*

  • This proves that the Beatles didn't lip sync :)

  • @missbeatleforever -- Did you ever want t2o be a Beatle? Modern psychologists say they weren't screaming, but having orgasms. I didn't believe this until I had a hot woman touch my finger one time at work and she shivered like she was having an orgasm. And, I'm sure she did! Ever since then I have been working on points for style now that I know women (I didn't do anything) do this. Women have sex in their minds! Once you realize that, you can make them do it anytime. Just like you're a Beatle!!

  • @Phil1stalk Oh yes no doubt about it.Of course that girls had an orgasm.Everybody says that.I'm just talking from the outside because I never saw them alive, but I'm sure I would scream just like them if I saw them alive

  • @Phil1stalk wait so you mean the girls would completely just get wet down there from seeing the beatles play?????

  • LOL never seen such a blooper before this is real fun

  • Paul laughes like me, i sorta clapse in the middle and all most fall over hah

  • LOL John always cracks me up and Paul's and George's faces after that XD

  • Honestly, I wouldn't care if they made mistakes like this. I think they're freakin' hilarious, and to see their faces when they mess up is like, "Ohmygod! They're human, toooo." XD

  • Its happened in the best moments!!! I love you John!!!!

  • hjajhajahjahjahjahjhja :D

  • haha, sometime john forget the lyrics ahaha

  • xD

  • the best thing lennon ever did for his career was die. fact is he was churning out elevator music near the end. but he got killed and it has a way of cementing artists into this sort of "legend tragic hero cult icon status. but had he lived he would have been no different from Mccartney. pretty much forgotten by young people and putting out pleasant middle of the road music.

  • @glennjridge Wow if you were to be more wrong they would've made you emperor of soviet. Anyway, liked the mistake, John made many and it's always fun to watch.

  • Anyway, that still rocks.

  • ''CAUSE IM THE ONE WHO WON YOUR LOVE''[OOPS CAPS LOCK] that melody from 64......now think.''cmon baby light my fire''.......sounds like the doors borrowed that melody

  • @bectonbrainwave Good catch! I think Robbie Krieger, who wrote most of Light My Fire, had that song in mind.

  • ''CAUSE IM THE ONE WHO WON YOUR LOVE''[OOPS CAPS LOCK] that melody from 64......now think.''cmon baby light my fire''.......sounds like the doors borroed that melody

  • funny....John was thinking bridge.. But great recovery

  • At 0:29 you can hear the entire planet saying, "So What!"

  • we,ll let him slide on that!!lol

  • who the fuck cares. John Lennon got say what ever the he wanted. when ever he wanted. why? Because he's John Lennon

  • @BURSTRACK Well not really. Remeber the "Bigger than Jesus" thing? Just saying. lol

  • the microphone shocked him

  • I can't stop laughing - that was cute xd I love them ^^

  • aw.. haha soo cute

  • That doesn't necessarily mean John made a mistake. In live performances, it's common to see Singers/Musicians change the lyrics/music up slightly.

  • You can clearly see John saying "Solo!" pointing out to Hara and Macca that they came in with the vocals at the wrong time. It threw him for a second but he got right back into it.

  • Hahahhahahahahaha...he fucked it up...well, it was Johnny...he's still a God!!!

  • lmao!!! I love them soooo much :-D and you can tell Paul is trying his hardest not to crack up laughing ^_^

  • don't let this get out, but (whispers) the Beatles were actually HUMAN...Mum's the word...

  • Pure genious!

  • Hahahaha, epic!!

  • Mistakes, this is the amazing Beatles and they can do any mistake they want and no one cares about it.

  • hahahahaha

  • so?

  • Ye ye ye

    Bart

  • Not heard the whole song to this point, so I won't be dogmatic, but John's "ooowwww!" - as on the record - leads in to George's guitar solo, and indeed (at 5.5 secs), George hits the chord which leads in to his solo, not the chord which leads in to "everybody's green ....". I'm too lazy to fetch my guitar, otherwise I'd name the chord. Maybe they'd planned to sing a cut-down version of the song anyway and they ALL messed up; understandable amid the chaos that the NME Awards always seemed to be !

  • @tonto48pronto You're completely right!!!

  • @tonto48pronto The guitar solo on You Can't Do That is by John not George.

  • Lol I doubt this was heard by any if the fans

  • For a second I thought George accidentally hit John with his guitar xD

  • AAAAAWH Johneh its ok darling

  • heyy but john was right.. george and paul should sing in the next part.. or not?

  • if you noticed they all messed up lol

  • Thats cool, but if you ever performed live, these things happen. You just have to roll with the mistakes and focus on making good music.

  • Lol too funny

  • neat! :)

  • Oh snap! Lol, I find it cute. Nobody could hear him so it's all good :)

  • Ouch. Yeah, that was a flub. He was a couple lines ahead...hehe. And you know what? He laughed at himself, and Paul laughed with him :) It's all good!

  • sounds like he is saying won

  • ringo for prez 2012!! vote up if you agree!

  • @102Help no! Paul and Ringo for kings of the whole American Union! :D

  • @DeaDCorE45 win

  • UGH I love this video. asldjfo;iawecjlkasdf He is so fucking adorkable.

  • that is hillarious!!

  • The Beatles themselves said that they couldn't hear anything during their concerts. Bands didn't use monitors back then. If you've ever tried to sing and not be able to hear yourself, you could understand why this happened in many of their concerts.

  • john: OW! xD

    george and paul: o.0 ...whut?

    john: O^O

  • screaming owwwwwwwwww isnt just used in curtain places. you can pritty much use it anywhere

  • jeje todos cometemos errores xDD

  • who gives a shit

  • hahaha John did forget the lyrics often and often just ad lib preety talented guy either way everyone makes mistkes

  • cos im the one who loves your love :P

  • That is some awesome footage right there!

    Hilarious too :D

  • The Beatles were a rock and roll group, not Van Cliburn or Michelangeli. Their strength was in their writing, musical creativity, and recording. It was more of an exercise in aural and acoustical dynamics and giving it some nice poetic melody, harmony, and lyrics to go with it. I'm sure they hated making mistakes, but an act such as theirs could get away with it.

The proof of their talent, though, is that they could keep going and John jumped right back into it.

  • @IEnjoyHippies i think you meant ''appreciate''

  • who actually...anywhere in the world could give a flying fuck about what they should have sung or not! i mean! just fuck off!

  • You can see Paul alughing at him lol

  • John blew lyrics regularly, it seems. Watch the rooftop concert in LET IT BE and he forgets the words to "Don't Let Me Down." It's not a knock on him but it's something he did when performing live.

  • I guess many people aren't old enough to remember that the reason they stopped doing live shows (and all of the Beatles said this) was that audiences couldn't hear them and they couldn't hear themselves. It's only natural that they'd screw up from time to time. Listen to the outtakes on the Anthology records and other places. It took a long time to pull some of their songs together but when they finally did it was magic. Magic then, magic now, magic forever.

  • @LWOPP at last someone with sense

  • DA BOYS LV IRELAND.

  • John can do whatever he wants! He's John Lennon! :D He's like the English doppelganger of Chuck Norris!

  • @OtakuThreeThousand he is dead! get over it!

  • Oops.

  • LOL! John was ready for the solo but he failed! i love the beatles!!! :)

  • Oh, my God, people.

This is so normal to happen.

If you think this is embarrassing, you're so dramatic.

John is human too and was confused for ten seconds.

    What's the big deal here?

    Ironic mode on:

Mistakes like this made such an impact on the band.

Nobody liked them after this mistake.

They don't even changed the world after that.

    Bad, bad mistake.

  • @menoziinrevoltado dude chil its just funny as hell, i mean how often can you honestly say john lennon pwned himself

  • @endurocatfish I know it is funny. The others here criticizing John are the idiots who can't understand that mistakes happen.

  • Love John but that was funny lol

  • I like how John looks at Paul and George like oh shit wrong verse! LOL you can see paul and george wanting to laugh

  • Poor John. How embarrassing

  • @fuzzdout it happened a lot during all their years....John had a really tough time with the words.

  • IM THE LOVE YOU LOVE YOUR LOVE

  • my god who cares .rock and roll !! cant believe i even watched this

  • Thanks for the post. I had a great laugh! Every band that has ever performed has had these kinds of moments.

  • LOL! Sillly John and Paul xDDD

  • look at Paul's face when John was like ...Huh?

  • "cuz i'm the one who rubbed your love" instead of " won'"

Thanks for posting it. It shows their musical unity.

  • "cuz i'm the one who rubbed your love" instead of " won'"

Thanks for posting it. It shows their musical unity.

  • John is perplex because Paul and George should have sung "you can't do that" so he's forced to go to the mic again. I love them.

  • I'm in theatre, so it's always interesting for me to see how people pick up after they make a mistake, and the Beatles are one of the BEST at doing it. I love seeing their mess-ups probably even MORE than seeing them do it flawlessly. It makes me smile. <3

  • jaja pensaba que venia harrison con el punteo y que va se quedo esperando... bueno todos nos equivocamos... lennon4ever

  • lol I've seen this performance on other videos loads of times and never realised that he said " 'cause I'm the one who love your love" and then I watched this video and I noticed that and I started laughing hysterically!!!! XD

  • As a Beatle fan I am just grateful for any vids....especially the ones where they Fuck it up, just makes me love em even more....thanks for sharing

  • @chalyminx HAHAHA I agree with you :-D

  • I'm just pleased to see there's another live version of this song apart from the melbourne '64 version. Can't believe people are sticking it to you for posting this! Where is the rest of it?

  • With all the screaming going on, they couldn't hear themselves play so no wonder they made a mistake lol.

  • What's your point in posting this video...if YOU weren't making a big deal of it.

  • Christ,

It's rock N roll, who cares if he went oooow, I think people are looking into things to much here.....

  • Hey they did freakishly amazing things and all four are legends, but they're still human, and up there's a little proof. Nobody always gets it right, but that's another part of what makes them great, just being willing to go on inspite of their mistakes. :D

  • You can totally see him trying not to laugh when he says "Cos I'm the one who love your love!" XD

  • hahahaha ooo john, why did you shout "OOOOOOOOOW" in 0:05?? funny video

    5/5

  • lol I bet he felt silly

  • thats true!!!

  • what's all this nonsense about "mistakes". they wrote most of the songs in 10 minutes or less. maybe they are just rewriting the songs. they often got bored playing the same lyrics over and over.

  • Awsome!

  • las buenas bandas de musica saben zafar de cualquier error con mucha gracia, como en este caso...

  • No, here's what happened:

When John sang "Oooww!" he thought it was time for the part where Paul and George sing "You can't do, you can't do that..." but he was too early. It was actually time for singing "Everybody's greeen, cause i'm the one who won your love...." well that's what i think.

  • John was just too anxious to get to his guitar solo. Oooww! is the last vocal before the bridge with John's lead solo. I guess he was just ready after verse 1 instead of verse 2. He handled the little hiccup like the professional that he was.

  • Whoopsie!

  • hahaha o john :)

  • Was a human too...

  • this is why we LOVE john!

  • that is really funny, but the beatles are still awesome!

  • It is kind of funny in a way, because john screams, and paul and george just go right into the bridge of the song.

  • :10 John yells "No" 'cause he thought it was time for George's solo...so did Paul, but these guys are pro's...they handle it!

  • no he shouted oww, which is part of the song

  • John played the solo on You Can't Do That. John was about to start the solo, but it was a verse early. He quickly realized his mistake and came back to the mike.

  • George came in at the wrong time...forcing Paul to jump back to the mic ...& John to jump back to the mic & to the lyric which he then screws up 'cause he's looking at the other two like ?!

  • I LOVE YOUR LOVE TOO, JOHN

  • hahaha I love it...even making mistakes,, he is cute

  • JohnMalloy05, the FBI is watching you now, stay away from Ringo and Paul. Same goes for all of you. Trekkies.

  • lol. John looks surprised.

  • He shouldn't. The girl screaming not cared
