  • Mark Chung is the best! I wish he was in every video! :D

  • That's the same Hasselblad I have!

  • That Hassleblad was GORGEOUS!!! <3

  • Man, the pro's always look so bummed out. Its somewhat funny :)

  • Was that guy smoking a pipe?

  • hey kai its "i ll need your clothes your boots and your motorcycle"

  • I actually REALLY want a Vivitar like that XD I know I am wierd Lol! Where can I buy one? Because I want to

  • This is definitely the best one out of the series, in terms of final photo edits.

  • @User6327 Its apparently a film camera and film quality is way better than cheap digital cameras.

  • @joshonator12

Vivitar 8027 is not a film camera.

It is a 8 MP digital camera.

  • @User6327 Oh I think you are right, i guess kai made a mistake when he called it a film camera at 5:52 :p

  • @joshonator12 I believe he said 'unfortunately, the vivtar THOUGHT it was a film camera from the 90s, and stamped all the photos with a time and date stamp.'

  • the thumbnail looks a little like adam sandler :)

  • 5:05 WOAH!! he made a force shield!!

  • WOW, he did really well with that camera!

  • " WE ALL LIVING IN AMERICA, AMERICA IS WONDERFULLL... "" JAJA

  • the hasselblad is such a nice camera!!

  • yeah redwings

  • He pulled that off really well! Respect!

  • Gotta love Mark!

  • He's so adorable, and really good at post-processing.

  • When he pulls the camera up to his face at 2:30, I lost it.

  • go red wings!!! PS, these videos are amazing!

  • That guy looks so badass smoking the pipe and whatnot. And I'd love to see what mark got with his Hassleblad!

  • love the guy smoking the pipe at 7 min in the back

  • Whoa! Guess my wish just came true. A Pro photographer with a cheap camera and a not-even-amateur model challenge! :)

  • i like this idea of giving a pro photographer a cheap camera, now you can see the (un)talented!

  • this is the asian special right?

  • Also Detroit Red Wings FTW

  • Anyone else read Ken's Title? Custom Harley Davidson Builder / Hair stylist

    LOL!

  • that must be really awkward ._.

  • Judging by the last few comments it must be "ask a fucking stupid question" week.

  • 6:10 how is it this good ?

  • 3:25 , how to do that effect ?

  • why is everyone asian?

  • @cruzz903 Tends to be like that in Asia.

  • detroit red wings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i want his hasselblad so badly

  • those edited pictures look pretty awesome.

  • This camera actually looks pretty good

Although Kai blows smoke up the photographers arse. By doing a V/O saying how only pro photographers know how to work within the limitations of having a cheap camera. And WORKING WITHIN YOUR MEANS!!! A thing that 9.9/10 of us understand EXACTLY how to do this.

I started with a Ixusi 4mp camera, and learnt probably on the first week of owning it i understood not to constantly complain (as kai would on a review)

Either your bad, dont blame the camera.

  • @rorrt Cool Story Bro

  • 3:33 some one please tell me were kai got that shirt because that is truly epic

  • 0:43 - 0:46 Hasselblad 500ELX FTW!

  • @banpreso That Hasselblad It so Awesome

  • does mark chung have a website? i want to check out his hasselblad works

  • Haha he was already a pro photographer with cheap camera

  • @tahanoman1212 Nah that camera body is about 4-5k or so with inflation. Even today that will get you a few thousand off of ebay.

  • 6:33 the mechanic is smoking a pipe :D epic

  • surprisingly good job!

  • The photos turned out pretty good, did not expect that

  • Not one portrait with the pipe :(

  • I like the Dunlop tire - it's got a red ring - maybe an L series? :)

  • Funny thing about this series - when being told they can't shoot with their fav pro camera, all the photographers are like little kids who get their lollipop taken away. ) "WAAAH, DON'T TAKE MY LOLLIPOP AWAY!" hehe :)

  • Where is the LEGO camera ? c'mon SHOW US WHAT IT'S GOT......

  • Anybody who tells me the model of Chungs camera, I'll subscribe to them.

  • @Recon9143 it looks like Hasselblad 500 ELX (or was it CM???) no need to subscribe. just wanted to help out.

  • @chouhone do you think he was using a digital back?

  • @tylerismybf0 i'm sorry, I'm not too sure. it may be?? sorry, im wasn't much help.

  • ROFL at 3:27

  • Fantastic results! This is a great series. Please do many many more! :D Pinhole cameras, maybe even homemade lenses etc. :)

  • love his reaction when he's told to put away the hasselblad... "ah..."

  • asian guy with deep british accent lol

  • be careful! Arc, tig, mic welder plus Liveview is almost as bad as a laser and Liveview....fried sensor

  • Go RED WINGS

  • WOW Amazing photos! Way better than the other episodes.

  • I actually like the original versions too

  • The moral of these vids: You don't need an expensive camera, you need capable software! :-D

I was going to say expensive software but I suppose GIMP is free...

  • SOML!!

    my camera sucks.

  • can someone tell what did he do to get the last results in his pictures? I think is level the image but how did he make the blacks darker? and all...?

  • @5kyzthelimit It's a combination of Levels, Curves and Colour Balance in Photoshop. Each applied with a separate "Adjustment Mask" so that you can apply the adjustment locally on selected areas. That's it...in a nutshell. I use a Wacom tablet that is pressure sensitive, ie. the harder I brush with the Brush tool, the harder the effect. AND PRACTICE.

  • can someone tell what did he do to get the last results in his pictures? I think is level the image but how did he make the blacks darker? and all...?

  • whens the next episode?

  • this man is a real photographer, he used his knowledge to get a good composition and exposition out of nothing and used his post processing skills to make some good shots beautiful

  • Hes into it

  • He looks like takeshi kitano. *-* I love this man.

  • lol, he was so disappointed when he heard he had to use a cheap camera :D

  • Finally a dude who can talk English. The picture of the man with the animal in the desert was terribly composed though.

  • @Kadadj He SPEAKS English...

  • AAh that pipe is so bad ass!

  • Hell yeah, props for the Wing's jersey. Also I'm amazed that the ccd didn't instantly fry on that cheap camera when he took a picture of the guy welding.

  • lol!! Guys Face At 2:38

  • They should make the challenge tougher. It's mostly about portrait shoots, how about events? sports? now THAT's a challenge!

  • can you do something about different ways to edit the pictures? different programs maybe? how the pros do it? please!!!

  • Damn! Ken put all his swag onto his Harley...

  • playing with your red rocket.

  • man i just wanna know what Camcorder u use?

    DSLR? or Professional camcorder?

  • @sslytheriinn6645 I saw the camera guy holding a DSLR on there other video.

  • @khnathan29 really? wow ! it doesn't have any bad shaking effect that DSLR does ?

  • @sslytheriinn6645 If you're running youd probably notice. You can also buy a mount to attach to your LCD screen so then it would feel like a camcorder.

  • im into it;D

  • @jan1761 I understand what you're getting at, but I think it's good to see what a cheap camera is capable of in the hands of a pro...I really believe that once a person achieves a good shot with good exposure then post work can really turn a good picture into an exceptional one.

  • Great series of films, really does drive home the message that it's not the tools that count but what you do with them. Hope there's many more episodes to come after the Lego camera.

  • his accent is super hot

  • This is the best one, undoubtedly he proved his skills.

  • The pipe smoking at the end if epic :)

  • Th pipe is the best at the end ;)

  • GO WINGSSSSS!!!!!! oh and the video was pretty cool too, thumbs up for the retro Hasselblad

  • @jan1761 He has done that before.

  • Detroit Redwings=FAIL. >:D

  • What camera did you record this episode of DigitalRev with?

  • @AquuL I would like to know this also.

  • red wings? NOOOOOOOOO

but i dont care they are outtt!

  • Just remember my first digital camera, a vivicam10.

It just could shoot on vga mode

  • colours in original looked better

  • That was a lot of post processing on those pictures. >_>"

  • proper tough for building custom harleys?? you fucking joking??

the only people who builds and rides harleys are proper wankers.. ride a real bike you fucking posers

  • Watch it, I'm a wings fan.

  • All Red Wing fans should be boiled in hot tar!!!!

  • that was so friggin awesome... apart from he was a redwings fan

  • wow, he did a really good job!

  • @jan1761 They have done this.

  • 3:13 Red chopper. Nice.

  • which country do they belong to?

  • im going to like this cause of the humorism is too high~

  • ohmy goshh!!!!

  • @jan1761 they did ;) in one video, not long ago, they took model and gave her pro camera

  • I feel like if I want great photos with a cheapo camera, I need to learn how to photoshop....

  • What it is with everyone and this small, cheap,, plastic,,, multy coloured,,,,,,,,,,, mmmmmmmmm LEGO CAMERA. DOUGH!

  • HE IS IN TO IT!

  • with which camera did you film this video ?

  • I agree with the comment below re manual mode - I almost always shoot M....but I avoid flash - makes colours too cold. I guess an eye for framing and perspective goes a long way, and software touch-up really cleaned up the green-blue colour tint this camera seemed to produced - the photos do lose a lot of texture when the photographer can't manually mess with exposure settings. Nothing really beats a good camera/good photographer combo.

Great post - great videography - I love this channel!

  • @jangyman i think you have to learn a bit more about cameras, think you're missing the point

  • @ibeplu I'm a fairly new DSLR owner so I have tonnes to learn...perhaps you could correct me or lead me towards the point...otherwise your comment just seems hostile rather than wise.

  • @jangyman heyyyy. you should try using slow shutterspeed, and set it at about 20s on manual focus. make sure to turn of the lights have a black backround and have the camera focused and zoomed in on the backround and then take colourfu flashlights. and swing them around to ccreate a pattern. if you keep doing experimenting with this, you can get pretty cool picture. like i remember doing a vortex thing and random shapes. hopefully that makes sence. :D

  • I think the biggest disadvantage of a cheap camera is the lack of manual mode. It's all about being creative with your medium, and it's kinda hard, when you can't choose your parameters. As long as you can choose, it doesn't really matter. Technology will always limitations, creativity doesn't - there are tons of cheap tricks to improve your photo's big time!

I always shoot full manual, flash included. Screw ETTL, it rarely gives the results I want.

  • what a sexy shutter sound of the hasselblad!

  • surprisingly boring episode....

  • i want that spiderman chopper!!

  • like the video, dislike the Red Wings

  • I'm waiting for Lego camera ^__^

  • 5 days without a video, i am impressed

  • I love this guy, unlike the guy (pro photographer) before him he's quite down to earth and he's good.

  • i wander who is going to get the LEGO camera

  • Go Sharks!

  • Gaaah, his camera is damn gorgeous.

  • the combine photo is pretty decent.

  • I like Mark's photo, bit more character in the pictures then other Pros. Good job!

  • OMG LEGO CAMERA is next!

  • @joshonator12

    Iam freaking out !!!!!!!

  • @joshonator12 dang i was hoping lego camera would be in this episode
