  • @Chtulu79, did you see that?

    V

  • @Cthulu79, "fuck the Britts"? Fuck you

  • I praise you man, I'm of Irish/Scottish decent, and would love to learn how to play bagpipes/warpipes, but I suck, lol. Bagpipes are just so poetic, no words, but in you mind, you can put in your own emotions/words, and it seems right. BTW, Fuck the Britts!

  • @jaridb86 ha, loved your description of how the death of the enemy would occur.

  • Just think! If you were an enemy to Scotland, and you were marching against the Highlands, first thing you would hear would be the glorious hym of bagpipes announcing the coming of the almighty clansmen. Next, you'd hear the thousands-upon-thousands of footsteps marching toward you. Then comes the blood-curdling battle-cry! Then comes a sharp pain in the heart. That pain is a clansman running you through with a pike! Then the last things you see and hear, are nothing... Long live Scotland!!!!!!!

  • That was enjoyable ! these must be a godsend to the Auld folk I include myself. ;-)

  • Just Creepy.

  • For all those saying get some real pipes, when you're old as me and not physically able to play the "real thing" any more, the electronic pipes are a Godsend

    I'm an Aussie old girl

  • U have fingers which are perfectly adapted for playing the pipes, evolution at it's finest.

  • creepy claw fingers

  • Hey man great playing, I used to play back in middle school and gave it up for a bit (stupid decision I suck now), but I was thinking about getting one of the electronic pipes. Have any suggestions, keep in mind I'm a poor college student haha.

  • awesome piper!

  • jeez never heard of electronic bagpipes

  • your holding it strangely but good playing! oh, get som real bagpipes!

  • those 8-bit *bleeps* kick ass

  • my grandpa used to be a emt

  • im member of 42nd reenactment group of 1815 and when the 42nd is played on the pipes it sends goosepimples up my spine, roll on waterloo 2010.

  • Do you have to whipe your chanter down all the time? Cause i do and its a real pain!

  • sorry but what is that tune at 0:48

    thank you

  • 4nd Highlanders.

  • @RockLegendOwns

This tune is called "Wha wadna' fecht for Charlie", otherwise known as "Wha saw the 42nd", "The 42nd (Royal) Highland Regiment" or simply "42nd Highlanders" after the famous regiment, The Black Watch.

  • Hi, could you send me the sheet music for good drying?

  • Your very good but the real ones are better

  • Sorry but it's the same as the real ones!

  • Where can I find the sheet music to Good Drying

  • impressive fingers ;-)

  • Is this a set that you do or did you just pick the tunes at random to play? I think its a great set...

  • Sheet music pls anybody. i got one but this is a little diff

  • you said you use electric so you can practice in your dorm room. Does your college have a pipe band?

  • all it needs are some drums

  • Competition piper?

  • Yupp competed for a few years in high school, kinda slowed things down for a bit while I'm in college.

  • what grade?

  • @kiwibagpiper

I want to ask you two things. First, where did you go to high school in Scotland? Next, do you play rugby? Just wondering. I wish that I could play the bagpipes. Anyone who can play the bagpipes has my respect.

  • You have good capillary refill.

  • wow some of these comments are funny. =]

    ...hahaha

  • Awesome man! Even if I prefer the classical instrument, you play that one very well :)

  • Hm. I'll call my druid friend and call off the hit then. But have a care you do not forsake the true bagpipe!

    IMH

  • Sorry. You're good, but your electropipes are a mockery of all that is Scottish. I hope a druid hits you with a stick.

    IMH

  • Quite honestly its the only way possible for me to practice in my dorm room, so in that sense its better to practice something than to practice nothing at all = ) Thanks for your concern though!

  • @imournhim Didn't the Irish give babgpipes to the Scottish, an the Scottish have yet to still get the joke?

  • @wwzander it actually originates in the middle east.......1st written account of a pipes instruments is by the romans

  • I want your Chanter (u_u)

    I love BoW !

  • Wish I could do that....have always loved the pipes

  • Do you have trouble with the pipe? I mean your grip on the chanter is unusual. But then left handed Pipers look uncomforable.A friend of mine can play left and right handed? beats me it really does.

  • Nope, my grip on the pipe is actually more normal lol I've just used my electronic one so much that the contacts have started to wear on it

  • dude his grip is normal

  • My teacher keeps telling me I should stop playing with the tips of my fingers (upper hand). ;-; So I'm not sure how 'normal' it is. You see most pipers play with flat fingers.

    Awesome tune, btw. <3

  • Yes,

If you ever want to be good at tunes(and playing the faster ones) never use the tips of your fingers. The holes should go to the first indent of bone and you will be a better piper.

  • I agree with that very good feedback :)

  • haha, it's almost like when my friends try and play on my chanter, except this guy plays fantastically!

Do electronic chanters have a good sound?

(I mean like live, not recorded like this)

  • It would have been cool if you played along with a metronome. Still sounds good though

  • His finger posture is a little unconventional.

  • You mean the upper hand? Yeah I saw that too.

  • Yea a lot of people comment on that, I just started playing when I was quite young and had to have an "unconventional" position to reach all the holes and I'm sure as you know bagpiping habits are nearly impossible to break :-)

  • It's more about the music than what grip he's using. Keep playing!

  • What band do you play with?

  • Motivationally good stuff!!!.Thanks for that.

  • hey do you haw sheet music for good drying, if so can you send me a copy please!!

    thats in advance

  • Hey, I took down the music from a recording played by RS Macdonald who wrote the tune. It's not the same as the one in this video, but its a four-part hornpipe and extremely fun. I'd be happy to send you a copy

  • absoulutly amazing! i'm just starting the chanter! Some day i wish 2 play like that! And I have to ask r u a Paramedic??????

  • The third tune was Good Drying

  • Pert near exellent

  • What's the third tune

  • spot on very very nice

  • good job, mate....but an electric bagpipe just seems to defeat the purpose!

  • Well I know it's not as cool as the real pipes but I'm pretty sure the other 200 people in my dorm wouldn't be my friends if I practiced my real pipes as much as I use the electronic one's, plus you can plug head phones in

  • Spot on !! Nice playing, keep it up. The wee Ross chanter is the biz!!

  • brilliant!!

  • Nice job. The electronic pipes have a pretty cool sound and you play very well.

  • thats an interesting setting for 42nd Highlanders

  • how so?

  • There's an extra high A in the ending measure of each part. Normally, it ends on a B with a strike, coming down from D. This version is good, though.

  • O well thank you, i thought u meant something more than that lol; just kinda somthin I heard i think the Black Watch used to play a similar variation awhile back I liked it so I "eared" it and now play it haha

  • your class at the pipes lol u

  • lol im an doit ur not playin the pipes it the electic chanter i cnai bleive tht cos i play the pipes

  • i would record me playing the pipes but my cam is broken lol i play alot o good tunes
