  • Cant wait till nxt week to buy mine

  • it is stock??????????????????????????????loll

  • Yeah it's a 3.4L V8 SHO Engine for 1994. That's when it came out.

  • that sounds really nice for a v8 that small. it's amost like v6 size

  • @punchmaster123 well to be fair the reason a v8 has that sound is the amount of power pulses happening and the engine design its self. Pushrod v8s sound different than OHC V8s, also the flathead v8s sounds way different as well. If you look up the mini V8s on here you will find that, of course you can tell by the sound that it is small, but you can tell that it is still a v8. and the mini ones sound awesome. I want to build one. and that car does sound awesome. running 2 bullet mufflers.

  • @jaadams72 i agree...

  • i miss my 97 SHO, wish i still had it.

  • Heh, I have his full set of wheels now. Too bad this car had to get scrapped last year.

  • @bluoval96 yeah it is sad. I loved that car. :(

  • @bluoval96 scrapped what was wrong with it

  • @NikkoCharger Nothing was really wrong with the SHO, he just got tired of it and bought a Hyundai. :/

  • EPIC FUCKING WIN

  • @lHustonProductionsl You just admitted that you put them in your mouth. HAHAHAHA sucker. How does that corn taste?

    Anything else?

  • @lHustonProductionsl I already pulled the tampon out of my ass and you insisted on putting it in your mouth. That's why there is nothing but manure coming from your fingertips.

    Anything else?

  • @lHustonProductionsl I know that and it's called a mistake.

Thank you, "Internet YouTube Correctness Squad" for pointing out a mistype. Now apply your unique internet talent to your own personal life and correct all of your mistakes that matter, skipster.

  • sweet

  • gentelmen what we have here is a sleeper

  • man my 98 sho just took a shit. they dont make any parts for the motors anymore so i have to get rid of it. im so sad. yours sounds great though.

  • Despite a lot of the negativity that these 3rd gen. V8 SHO's get, I've always thought they sure sounded wonderful :)

  • aah ohh haaw man aaah......aaaaah I think I just came...

  • yamaha heads...ford block, a baby cobra with jap heads...the gnx was sent mclearen for tunning, does that make a euro car?

  • cool yamha uses a crossplane crankshaft!

  • i have one and i heard the tranny goes out qick on them especially when u race... when i want to floor it i wait till its on its last gear and it doesnt shift no more then i floor it so my tranny wont fuck up

  • Hooo, that's a lovely sound!

  • @jaadams72 ....yeah F1 cars are only 2.4L.....but thats due to only having a 1 and a half inch piston stroke.....

  • nice car man my 99 looks just like that but covered in snow lol!

  • i dont care how many gtps run 13s or what anyone says...that sound is intoxicating! i just bought an eaton m90 off an 01 gtp that IM GONNA mount on my 97 sho. lets see what a real engine can do with that sc. i know of one on the internet, but it can be done rather easily. the only thing you have to worry about is the tune and a staunch tranny upgrade which i have. the gen 3 sho pisses me off as much as i luvm. why wouldnt they have mounted a sc on the damn things in the first place. nice car.

  • Question, is it fairly easy to do a SHO drop in, to a G GL or LX? I have a 97 GL with the duratec

  • OMG, HOLY FUCK IT SOUNDS GOOD!!!!!

  • how much hp?

  • @davviscool Yeah well, Spanglish isn't a language. So if that cunt nugget is gonna speak English, he should spell it our way.

  • I realy don't like the way the these SHO's look but I have to say that is one clean sounding V8 very nice sound!!!!

  • Sounds really good, getting mine today, same color!

  • Holly shit i just went through 15 pages of dumbshits talking about this stupid engine, and no postings on the numbers, we want to see numbers, when we see a dyno video people expect hp and torque numbers, not who knows more about a car or how a jap engine got in a ford!!

  • that sounds sexy! from what ive seen, theyre pretty damn cheap too. if it came with manual transmission id buy one....

  • this thing sounds AMAZING... love the sound of the shifting

  • Nice V8 sound. I like those a lot. Some people who still live with their moms have nothing better to do than talk trash.

  • i have a taurus sho 98 too....the sound ....i love it,,,,,, civics sucks

  • hey were did u get ur cams dodne i live ny and i need to get mine done?

  • @famouswolfy it is a 97.

  • not many cars sound better once the imrc engages and opens the secondaries...omg

  • These SHO v8s are real small, aren't they? Like 3.5L?

  • @madtownmadman they are 3.4L not the smallest v8 formula one is currently running a 2.4L V8

  • @jaadams72 Jeez. Weren't the F1 V8's at 2.6 liters, just a couple years ago?

  • @madtownmadman youre probably right. i think i heard of them having v10s just over 2 liters at some point...

  • @jaadams72 fuck it smaller displacement higher rpm. id rather have high rpm over displacement mostly anyday. except the days where i just want some raw deep toned muscle. lol

  • @jaadams72 That'd kinda be nice to have a 3.4l v8, haha, my 4.6 downs the gas.

  • @KandAshow mien too, but my 4.6 is v6...i had a v6 taurus and it got amazeing mileage

  • @darkeyce02 I have a 4.6 v8.

  • @jaadams72 yea @ like 20,000 rpm

  • @jaadams72 don't F1 cars have v10/v12's?

  • @madtownmadman naw bro 5.0

  • @madtownmadman naw bro 5.0 well mines is anyway

  • @sling450 So you have a 5.0 in a Taurus? Did you convert it to RWD while you were at it? Besides, a 5.0 isn't small. At least not to the majority of people who measure by liters. Now when it comes to American pushrod power, and the huge market for strokers, 302" or 5 liters is tiny.

  • @madtownmadman nope its still fwd, open headers, strait pipes, 5 speed, i love it lol, bout to get a supercharger. and naw its not small, but there to much weight in the front.

  • @stjo555555 Mod motors never made it into SHO's. See jaadams72's comment.

  • Wher do you get them welded? How much?

  • That's one wicked sounding motor.

  • i would SO hate to change the spark plugs on that son ouva bitch

  • @MustangsMan the spark plugs are rather difficult. especially if you try changing them without dropping the front subframe...lol

  • @froderick oh hell yea...lol only reason i would NEVER own one of these cars

  • FWD V8... Your Doing It Wrong

  • Garbage.

  • @Ganbala hey asshole, i have a taurus SE with a 3L V6 and it has stock 200 hp.

  • @KrunchyTaterChips ROFLMAO

  • @KrunchyTaterChips fuck you you fucking racist prick.. how dare you mention another persons language as an insult.. go fuck your cousin and spit your chewing tobacco in a jar elsewhere fuckin nazi

  • God i love watching the motor shift when he takes his foot off the gas :D

  • the new SHO should have a Yamaha engine. They make very nice sounding V6's and V8's what a great sound!!!.

  • what is the best way to make an intake for the v8 sho?

  • Steel/aluminum and fab skills.

  • whats the numbers?

  • why is that not very impressive?

  • What!? 0-60 in 14 seconds brother. You can't tell me that's not impressive.

  • Are the camshaft sprockets welded?

  • absolutely

  • @jaadams72 are the camshafts a big trouble spot to worry about? or is it something that only affects a few of them??

  • @discosuitDan they are a big worry with getting close to 1000 confirmed failed. get them welded and have piece of mind.

  • i cant wait to put my flowmasters on my 97 gonna sound great like this

  • Car sounds great.

  • i have asked a couple of other SHO owners this but do you think it is possible to put a 32V Northstar V8 from a caddy in a base model 99 taurus se. the reason is is because we have a caddy that had been hit in the side and i want to pull the motor out and put it in my taurus. i wish i could find a V8 SHO 4 sale here in orlando. i would just buy it instead

  • Alot of fab work there. better off putting the Intec 4.6L out of a Lincoln Continental. That swap has been done a few times.

  • intec? would that be the 32valve 4.6L motor?

  • yes, it's the 32v dohc 4.6L.

  • you could always throw in a 5.0, I would find a 5.0 H.O. EFI and build it up before you drop the engine, I mean a 5.0 with heads, intake, longtubes, etc makes good numbers, and I personally think the 5.0's sound better than the 4.6's, but thats just me, but I do like the 4.6's anways because im mostly a Ford guy haha. But I do like all muscle cars.

  • believe it or not, my neighbor actually has a old junker fox forsale, i should buy it and start fabbing stuff up.

  • Hey I live in saint cloud and I will sell you a nice 99 sho for $1600 running, 134k Motor is quiet and trans shifts like a top, The a/c went out in it and it shows its usual wear for being 10 years in age but still imaculent for its age.

  • i need to get rid of my 99 se first, i just bought an 01 supercrew thats a good deal tho

  • Pure obnoxious. A tightly wound v8 in a family sedan. I want one!

  • bitchin'

  • that thing sounds sick!! to bad the body looked like a used bar of soap. but, barring cam problems, i'd own one if i came acrossed it

  • Wow what a moron below me! Hello genius the 3.2 is made by yamaha! That is definately not American!

  • Actually only the heads are Yamaha. The short block is Ford casting. Yamaha put the heads on Fords block and sent it back to Ford. The heads are the only weak point in these engines unless you weld the cams then almost bulletproof.

  • wrong, the engine block is not ford. it's designed entirely by cosworth.

  • Wrong..the engine block is Ford aluminium casting done in Ontario Canada using a "Cosworth process" but cast by Ford. The heads are designed by Yamaha and the engine assembled in Japan then shipped back to Ford. 207 CID engine. 3.4 litre. 237.4 horses. I own a toreador red 97 SHO V8 w/aftermarkets done by FPM in Atlanta. Marginally quick at a 13.81 1/4.

  • yes like I said. designed by cosworth. ford did cast it but it's a cosworth design. btw I heard doug at FPM is comming out with a big bore 4 liter short block for the sho here soon....I'm getting one as soon as it's available and having him put a blower on it. :)

  • by the way its aluminum not aluminium.......unless you're british lol

  • I don't keep up with new stuff for the SHO. Mine already has everything done that you can do to it. I just own it because I bought it from someone who needed money in a hurry and I got a steal on it. When I bring it out occasionally it turns heads because it is rare and loud. Everyone stares and wants to know "What's a SHO?"

Aluminium is the correct spelling but Aluminum became an accepted variant in 1993. The US is a country that employs the variant. I prefer the element's correct

  • spelling.

  • wow I honestly didn't know that. I stand corrected. btw what mods are you running to hit 13.80s? do you have any vids of your car?

  • I don't post any videos of anything on a computer. I value my privace because in my line of work I don't have much of it and I prefer my private life to remain private. There are not many mods for the V8 but mine are HE coils, welded, massaged and polished runners, cone filter, 3 stage chip, shift kit, ext. tranny cooler, colder plugs, flowmasters with no resonator and no 3rd cat, 75 hp Zex dry shot. I think that's all. Have not thought about them in a good while. Good luck.

  • thanks man sounds like a nice car

  • What kind of private life are we talking about here? Do you shave your knuckles 5 times a day or something?

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE CANADA WOOT!

  • badass

  • Numbers?!?

  • if only they made the sho with rwd..

  • @zo0yoRk69 and a manual

  • i have a 98 ford taurus se 3.0 v8 motor never had one problem with it these are fuckin good cars

  • so you have a 3.0L V8? really, i highly doubt that. my taurus has a 3.0L V6 i guess i have the faster car right smaller engine same amount of liters......dear god

  • Now THAT is cool. Cheers!

  • nice one!

  • How long do these run before they go to shit? (miles)

  • About 120,000 or so,they run like hell, look great, but theyve got bastard engines.

  • i dont know much about them but will someone explan to me...about the yamaha engine and some are v6 and some are v8 right...wat iz the 3.2 liter and wat iz the 3.4liter..???help plz

  • 89-95 are v6s. The 5 speeds came with a 3.0 liter engine and the automatics came with a 3.2 liter engine.

96-99 are v8s and they all have an automatic transmission with a 3.4 liter engine.

  • holy shit, how can i get my SHO to sound like that.

  • oh god, havent seen thisclip in about a year now......oh the sound

  • Did you do any modifications to this car. Also do you think it was worth it to buy this car?

  • ok, ive got a question, ive got an 02 taurus, if i find a wrecked SHO and i took the engine, tranny and ecu, would it be fairly easy to swap engines? would i have to take anything else out of the SHO to put in my car? cause i think that would be original, a 3rd gen SHO.

  • It's been done before, just google "Gen IV SHO" and pics, vids, and forum discussions on the swap should come up.

  • alright man thanx 4 the help

  • Sounds like an awful lot of work for very little payoff. I just saw a Gen 3 on craigslist for $2,500 in L.A., it looked clean. Sounds alot easier to just find one and buy it.

  • well your right, it would be a lot easier to find one and buy it, but wheres the fun in that. for some ppl its not about how much work it was or what the payoff was, its more about the satisfying feeling you get when your done building it and tweaking it knowing that you did it yourself and didnt have to pay $30,000 to get a car that could go as fast as, or maybe even faster then a mustang gt.

  • damn, just imagine that thing screamin past you on the highway, you would never think that it was a taurus

  • what kind of numbers did it put down?

  • I believe it was around 200-205 HP at the wheels. I also saw somewhere that this SHO is the fastest N/A GEN III in the 1/4 mile, 14.6 seconds with the auto. Now if he could get a 5 speed in there, it would probably run high 13's to very low 14's.

  • 14.6s stock?? i think thats alittle quick. more like 15s

  • This car is not at all stock. I said that this is reportedly the fastest N/A Gen III, not the fastest stock Gen III.

  • what kind of numbers did it put down?

  • Should have Paul do a 0-60 for this bad boy.

  • nice i have one but its stock

  • that last message is a reply to the sport track adreniline message

  • "Hahaha!!!! You got a Taurus!!! My Civic is gonna absolutely wa--- WHAT THE FUCK!!!!! A TAURUS JUST RAPED ME IN THE ASS!!!!!"

Gotta love the Nascar sounding sleeper.

  • that is the reason i own one. just for that reaction.

  • WHY DID FOR NOT BASE THIS OFF OF THE 3.0 DURATECH INSTEAD OF 2.5? I think if they would of made this 3.7 liter, hense 221 windsor of years ago,and marketed it with 260 hp,then it would of sold, this engine, regardless of how cool it sounds, just needed more C.I.D.

  • @mooserack99 The very idea of making a V8 front drive "sport" sedan is ridiculous. I love how Ford was stupid enough to do it. FWD+alotta hp=torque steer. front drive sucks.

  • @neurocytohemotoxic Don't forget about the '06-? Impala SS. It's got it even worse. Not only does it have a V8 powering only the front wheels, but it's a 300hp 5.3L instead of 240hp 3.4L. I love the idea of a V8 powered family sedan, but making one fwd defeats the purpose. It's like being married to the most beautiful woman in the world only to find out that she's got a Chastity belt without a key!

  • @BigRed10287 Those new Impalas are a disgrace to the Impala name. Impalas's used to be rear drive and badass. GM made a fast V8 powered sedan recently. And it was rear drive and good looking. I am referring to the Pontiac G8. Unfortunately GM axed Pontiac.

  • @neurocytohemotoxic I think you the point I was trying to make. I never said that the current Impala SS was a good car or that I even liked it for that matter. I was merely making the point that while it does seem like a bit of a waste to use the V8 in the SHO Taurus because of its FWD, it's an even bigger waste using the 5.3L V8 in the impala SS because of it's extra power and weight the the front tires have to work with. I definitely agree with you that the G8 shouldn't have been axed!!

  • @BigRed10287 Gotcha.

  • @mooserack99 yea now watch the taurus get raped by a buick regal gs, but thats another story. love SHO s though

  • Haha, Granny Car this, BITCH!

  • (Previously Posted)

    Paul has a few mods.

custom tuned, jet hot coated headers and intake manifold, cold air intake, EGR has been deleted, sealed crankcase, VAK or vacuum accessory kill (shuts down all the accessories at full throttle), Dr. Evil Transmission. this list is far from accurate as Paul changes so much on his car that no one can keep up. so of the stuff I listed may have been changed.

  • His secondaries are wired open. You can tell because there's no IMRC box and by the distinctive howl the engine makes. Tranny may be chipped as well.

  • im gonna say none but not to sure kinda slow for mods to be added

  • You dont have to watch american cars then.. try searching European Cars in the damn search box you god damned troll.

  • too bad the 3.4L V-8 was essentially a Japanese engine.... Your ignorance shows

  • I belive its a Yamaha, no?

  • correct

  • I friggin' love the NASCAR sound of this motor. Absolutely the best engine I've ever heard. And here I sit at home with a Taurus GL in my driveway :(

  • this cars nice i wish i bought it instead of my GL

  • do you have an idea at 00:26 that the motor tilted to the front a little bit???

  • Stupid You tube has the video no longer synced so that is actually when he lets off the gas.

  • dammmm that sounds good. i have the 2000 ford taurus SEL with 200 horse power and thats exactly what i want it to sound like but its a V6 so idk if i can get it like that. do you have any suggestions on how to make my car sound like that and perform somewhat like it. i want it to sound beefy and V8 like. thank you ahead of time

  • With some custom motor mounts you could put the V8 SHO in your taurus!!!

  • ...I JUST WET MYSELF LOL...

  • that sound does not match that car! Wierd

  • but that was the factory engine just with exhaust.

  • That's because it's a V8 SHO, einstein!!

  • no kidding dumbass! but i swonder why they put that engine in that car?

  • because they thought the SHo name plate would still seel and they wanted to market it with more power so with available V8 power sounded good. to bad the car cost 30 grand and no one bought it.

  • Because they rock, that's why. I own one almost identical to the one in the video, and even stock, it walks all over most ricers. I think the engine is the perfect match for this almost invisible car.

BTW, are you that immature you have to resort to calling others dumbass?

  • they put that engine in that car that way a Taurus can kick a ricers ass and put their car to shame because .. thats right. a family sedan kicked their ass.

  • i dont like the taurus but i do agree with kicking the ricers asses. who cares if it is ford dodge or chevy we need to keep fighting the ricers

  • thank you! FINALLY SOMEONE WITH SOME SENSE IN THEIR HEAD!

Set aside the differences! Team up! Show them what REAL American cars can do.

  • hell yeah! as long as its an american name its the right way to go. God bless America, Chrysler, GM, and Ford. and to hell with the others

  • Heck yeah! I'm a Mopar guy, but with all this other crap coming to the US, I don't care anymore as long as it's American!

  • Sweet looks like my 97 SHO same color too....

  • Is this Paul Nimz SHO?

  • Yes

  • Ive heard nothing but praise about him and his tuning abilities, also his electrical work. My friend Mario told me that he was running just a small battery in the trunk for power. His SHO is what I want mine to be like!

  • do any of you think that a 3.4L V8 Ford Taurus SHO motor would fit in a 2000 Ranger?

  • Personally I think it might, but you would need to overhaul EVERYTHING and then find a tranny that would run the rear wheels. Its not worth it, get a SportTrac Adrenaline
