What a gem of a song. These girls are just the CUTEST! I love the noise their axes make at :54!
Thanks shirgirlwhirl and thanks, Lennon Sisters! I feel so cheated that the contemporary music scene can boast no talent or beauty comparable to yours, so these youtube vids are a true treasure!
Janet must have stayed down at base camp. Seriously, I know the quartet often became a trio when one of the sisters became pregnant. But if this was 1967, Janet was only about 20, wasn't she? Did she start a family that early?
I'm from back when families only had one TV. Used to miss Lassie, because (much to my chagrin)LW was on 'the otherchannel'--in the same time slot. Haven't watched Lassie, on Youtube, but I can't help watching LW.
What a gift!! To be able to lift the spirit of so many people. A clean beautifull message not just the song, but the messenger and their attitude and charm. I love the Lennon sisters. I am on top of the world after hearing them sing about anything. Thanks shirlgirlwhirl!!!
Once again, Shirl, you have knocked a home run! What a great rendition of an old standard by the girls. I love the fantastic harmony and the beautiful memories it stirs in me from those great years of simple music that was inspiring and so very real. Thanks for all your wonderful videos you post! You're the best!
Love this song. <3

Yes, I think she was pregnant with her first son in 1967. That is probably why she wasn't there.

Janet was 21 at this time and had been married about a year and a half. So it is entirely possible. Maybe she was ill?

I think Janet was on her honeymoon.
