dude on the left was so hard to understand, which sucks because he was the one telling all the important stuff, was relying on the right guy to repeat what he said
I'm pretty sure that's not a Hori stick, it's a TE stick that's been moved over to the side with the TE S on top to make it look bigger than it really is.
Great video by the way guys. It's great to get into the pro player's head during a match since it's very rare for us to catch a glimpse of what goes on for us casual players.
Appreciate this education of a high level match. Xian's just having camera jitters, plus finding the best choice of words to describe Mago's mistakes, someone he's showing respect to.
Great video, Xian is a fantastic player who articulates himself very well (rare amongst top level SF players). Zhi is a great host also. Hope to see more of these episodes!
When I saw that the video was over 30 minutes, I thought I wouldn't have patience for the complete video. Then I got so engaged that when I noticed the match was already over. Nice job you guys, this episode rocked.
i like how much more technical and precise this series is. so much good stuff such as variable timing safe dive kicks and how to read the block advantage every time. Gootecks and Ross never get into technical stuff like this, and cant be compared to the analytical approach of Cross Counter Asia. Im loving this, heading to the lab right now
well I did like how they went over each segment of the match but at the same time I felt it didn't have enough charisma like Mike Ross and Gootecks has if there was a few more jokes inbetween moments then I think it could go far
I think commentary this in-depth will lose a lot of the more casual audience. Half an hour to go over one set? If they can find a way to keep some of the details and move the process along it would be much more enjoyable.
All 27 dislikes have come from EX-GFs. Keep Calm and Carry On.
By EX-GF, I don't mean former girlfriends, but rather just one girlfriend that requires 1/4th Super bar to perform.
Much love to Mike & Gootecks for allowing us to produce the show under the Cross Counter aegis. Please bear with us while we hone our stagecraft and aim for the standard you guys have set before us.
Viewers: Thanks for the constructive feedback. Your opinions/suggestions will be reflected in Episode 2!
This is a nice new pace for cc since it's more in depth than the original version. It's obvious Zhi is a natural for hosting and given a few more episodes they should warm up to this and produce even better results. Good job CC Asia.
31:11 I thought FOR SURE he was gonna do the classic Gootecks hands flutter that displays "This URL right here".
Anyways good job guys; you were very prepared for this commentary. Loosen up a bit though, this doesn't have to be a formal interview :P
Also slow-mo would be a nice feature too if you can manage - pause for longer explanations but it's okay to keep the match rolling (the pacing will come with experience I'm sure).
I really enjoyed this show and I think this is a good change of pace from Ross and Teks. Very informative. I would rather they stick to this than become an Asian Ross n Teks.
great video, really enjoyed the "top tier" secrets. lots of things i didn't know. where is xian's blog? would love to know more of yun's oki. the explanation of frame-advantage and options when + or - is awesome.
That was a really informative episode. Those guys are good. Only thing I would change is maybe get a proper studio background and film somewhere with better acoustics.
@krlspvp honestly they can get away with any flat, dark background. anything else because the white hallway is distracting! otherwise, great, great commentary.
FOR THE FIRST EP, this was pretty good. Incredibly informative, but they do need a little more humor or something to keep the viewers compelled to watch. I'm sure later eps will be shorter but just as informative, if not more. They can only get better from here!
This was awesome! I really liked every second of it and it was all very interesting. Looking forward to another episode. Thank You for your work on that!
so i'm all for CC branching out and Zhi and Xian with their series but.... that was dry and boring as fuck. i mean, there's a lot of great information for sure but it just wasn't fun to watch. 20 min of talking, 3 seconds of the match, 20 minutes of talking 4 seconds of the match, etc. Don't get me wrong, i'm not hating and i fully support this show... i just think it could have been presented better. mike and ryan are a great example of being informative, and keeping it fun.
Very insightful analysis from Xian and Zhi. Good stuff! I hope Cross Counter continues to branch out to the world and that Cross Counter Asia continues as well. I look forward to learn more about Asia's fighting game community.
There is a lot of great info in this. I would love to see CC:Asia continue doing the match breakdowns like this while Mike and Gootecks feature players and their online adventures. It would give the two branches very different focuses while being really entertaining.
@AreYouADragon keep this comment to yourself.. There's a reason why they are doing this considering they are sponsored and get money from it. If you want to see more of these vids just think that these sponsors are helping this happen
great video, not used to so much analysis, but great first episode, really entretaining :) you'll be out of that basement in no time, keep up the good work :)
Wow, what a crazy match analysis, even more so concidering they had no prior experience in this (hosting). Great job Zhi and Xian and shout outs to Gootecks and Mike Ross for P.R.-ing the sh*t out of CC, thus making shows like this possible!
a majority of people in singapore speak english as their first language and the people who don't know it very well. Not to mention how much longer it would take if crosscounter had to put up the footage and actually translate everything they say.
@KAZZNORE like it seems sucky at first to read, but youll get used to it after 3 episodes. its actually alot more expressive as the other person said.
Just because they have an accent doesn't mean that English isn't one of their primary languages. English and Mandarin are the two languages in Singapore.
