  • @Zigzagzane Everyone. Troll.

  • does it have focus?

  • @Zigzagzane DUDE WUSAP HD IS ON ! what you mean=?? 1920x1080p is the SHIAAAAT !!!!!

  • OMG THIS IS SR11?

  • what do u mean anymore :P

  • hol....y...... shit

damn, im wishing i didnt buy my hv30 haha

  • What do you mean?

  • DJKJKF

  • Props to the video.

I bought the HDR-SR11 last year and I have 3 major problems with it: bad focus while moving the camera faster than you do on your video, too much video noise on "very few" obscure places and the automatic exposure versus the sky is just annoying (I have to adjust it manually each time). Do you have any suggestions for better results?

  • I have to say that I have not had such problems with my HDSR-11.

In fact it's quite a suprise hearing that.

I rarely use the auto focus as most times the camera adapts to the surroundings perfectly..

    Sorry.

  • @sinning1966 ...I use the sr 11 aswell....IT SUCKS....BAD FOCUS...NOISE...Everything you just mentioned. Plus it does not really shot at 1080p....it shots at 1080i

  • great test footage. . . I own the SR11 , but have yet to do an official test for Youtube. I'm more so, wanting to know which format to change my m2ts, files to, to keep quality, while editing, and rendering as 720p for internet streaming. . any word?

  • Sure:) I use Corel Ulead Studio 11 or higher. It's an excellent program to preserve original quality after an edit.

If no edits are required, then simply upload the raw .mts file. (it will be big obviously)

  • Cool, i use Corel Video Studio 12 HD . . what format and setting do you render your edited video to? WMV MPEG, and what size? i've been told to save as 720x480 , but the best video i've seen on youtube/video have been saved as 1280x720. .

  • Nope. If you're using Corel, you should have a setting there to render it to 'MPG OPTIMISER'

Just do all you need to do to the video, then render it with that.

If you want to do it manually, then render it at the best possible quality.

Thats what I do, don't worry about what youtube does with the vid once uploaded, render it at -

    Raw .Mt2 File, AVCHD - 1920 x 1080i 25fps, 16:9, Variable Bit Rate (16000kb/s max), Upper Field First.

    :)

  • I just got an HD camcorder and this helped me understand how to upload the video properly and see a nice demo. Thanks!

  • Now this looks good. Watching with my radeon 4890 and full hd monitor. Very nice!

  • THE ZOOM IN of the fly was perfect, very nice.

  • Yes, I agree. I have this same camera and that shot capturing the fly with out much shaking is difficult. Nice work Tramadol200mg.

  • There is a new video camera out now which is a HDR XR200V. I own a SR7. Do you know if they record equal quality.? there is a fairly good test up on ypoutube under HDR XR 200v. I notice it is in full screen also?

    Mike

  • Well, the quality of Sr11 and XR200V is the same. SR7 is pretty old.

The new feature (nearly the only thing that got changed) is a gps system and a bigger HDD. Everyone who wnats to pay around 300-400$ more just to have gps on the cam can buy the new. The SR11 is still as good as the new XR200V.

    That's why I will buy the SR11

  • I notice your video takes up 1/2 the screen and when it shows HD instead of HQ. Am I uploading wrong? Won't bug you after this..

    Thank You

    Mike

  • You have to upload the correct HD format. I upload in High qualtiy (some tutorials) with higher res than HD, but the wrong format. I upload in 1650x1080. To show this nice screen of HD videos, you have to upload normal or full HD (1280 × 720 or 1920 × 1080). Than it'll be this nice big screen.

  • I appreciate you time . Thank you very much..

    mike

  • i think it's just because hq stands for high quality and not high definition.

  • What battery pack is standard in this camera, i will buy one SR11 soon! I have seen extra sony batteries with more power.

    jimmy

  • Its a standard - NP-FH60

I went on ebay, typed in the camcorder model no. and bought the most powerful battery possible.

It's not an original Sony product but it works.

    (BP-FH100 7.4V 4200mAh Li-ion)

On full HD I could probably get at least 170 minutes out of it.

  • I have a Sony HDR-SR11 but I dont know how to upload the .m2ts files... because I tried uploading one and is says to me when I play it "The video you have requested is not available" ... I uploaded it like 13 hours ago... i have to wait longer or theres a special way to upload .m2ts files??

  • how is the battery life when recorded in 1080

  • ya same question

  • About 90min(1hr 30)

  • With continuous non-stop recording using the lcd touch screen too, it's approximately 97 minutes

  • visual orgasm

  • Is it me, or has youtube improved playback on the raw-uploaded .m2ts file videos?

  • No you are right, they now allow uploads of raw .mt2s files.

Still wonder if they add a tad of their own compression. Hopefully not.

  • how big was this file?

  • 186 megabytes......took a while to upload heh

  • To be honest, out of all of the one's there was only something like the Panasonic HDC-SD100.

But the night vision and the super-slow-motion features on the Sony were too impressive for me.

I did many many hours research into this before buying one, and can tell you if you are happy with the new AVCHD codec go for this one! (and get the one I got as you don't need a bigger internal harddrive, 60gb is enough..)

  • Not bad at all, even considering you were holding the camcorder in your hand when doing the extreme closeups. Have you been happy with this one? What other camcorders did you consider before buying the SR11? Thanks...
