Gina, you seem well meaning, but I don't think ad men needed Freud to tell them that they could sell more products by appealing to customers' vanity. Snake oil salesmen have been around for centuries. And people aren't always honest when they answer surveys and will often give a politically correct response. And ads are still full of impossibly beautiful people.
