The effects of excessive drug and alcohol abuse are there, sure, but she is by far the most intelligent person to appear on this show; completely underestimated, because she is beyond what a socially accepted "free spirit" is.
i think she's funny as fuck!! Too bad nobody gets her and everybody underestimates her intelligence. Interventions almost always do more harm than good. All this show does is exploit drug addicts. Their approach with Christy was ridiculous. If you genuinely want to help someone with a substance abuse problem your best bet is to let them know if they ever want REAL help (not money) that you will be there and then love them from VERY far away.

She is hurt and highly sensitive to the people around her and how they act. Her intelligence is working against her in that she can identify ignorance in others but not herself. She is a thinking, feeling, and YES reasonable human being, but she needs a wise person in her life. I hope she finds one.
You summed up my experience perfectly. It made me insane and no one knew it. I just seemed "creative" but in fact I just obsessed on the first shiny thing or idea that I encountered and ran with it. No ability to sustain effort, no ability to sit and work uninterrupted, no ability to finish a book or a project. It made me INSANE long after I stopped using it. I hope not forever.

Wazzup?? I saw the update, and she'd rather go to jail than go to treatment, and she's still using alcohol and crystal meth. Now in 2009, she's probably dead, brain dead or in an institution and got her head zapped. Hopefully she has found help or something but the problem is she will never be helped unless she wants to help herself and from that episode it didn't look like she wanted to help herself or allow people to help her, very very sad

She is probably the most mentally gone person on Intervention to date. I knew she wasn't going to get better from the beginning.. She isn't afraid of anythinnng. Not jail not death... Like she said she is on a permanent good one.. I believe it. Not that she doesn't deserve better and could do it and not that I think she is living right. She doesn't take anything seriously she is out of reality and she doesn't have to worry about anyone or anything. She is literally crazy. I hope for the best.

Cristy is 'mentally gone' because she siezes on the minutea of life and extrapolates, say the word 'War' graffitied on a wall that she sees, into the meaning of life. She is hurt and highly sensitive to the people around her and how they act. Her intelligence is working against her in that she can identify ignorance in others but not herself. She is a thinking, feeling, and YES reasonable human being, but she needs a wise person in her life. I hope she finds one.

You summed up my experience perfectly. It made me insane and no one knew it. I just seemed "creative" but in fact I just obsessed on the first shiny thing or idea that I encountered and ran with it. No ability to sustain effort, no ability to sit and work uninterrupted, no ability to finish a book or a project. It made me INSANE long after I stopped using it. I hope not forever.

watch the episode. if you piece this shit together it REALLY seems to me that before this girl can tackle her meth/hooch problem, she needs years of talk therapy with adjunct meds to get out all of her issues with padre, aka "Mando." Christy perpetually refers to weight issues, SPECIFICALLY when she brings up a memory of when her mother had to sneak food to hide it from her dad. Post-divorce mom took Christy and her sis 200 mi. from her dad.
I'm even inclined to suggest molestation by daddy.
