No pampered millionaire players. Quarterbacks didn't slide to avoid being tackled - they ran headlong into the defense. Defensive players didn't celebrate like idiots after each tackle. No stupid end zone dances. Seems like the players back then had more respect for the game.

Go figure the NFL Championship game the very next year in 1958 is regarded as "The Greatest Game Ever Played". As if the League was sick of seeing the Lions and Browns in the title game.

Preston and Lew were brothers, always thought they weren't related. Love football from the '50s and 60's. Much better than today's game.

The 09 Lions are playing the 09 Browns today - its blacked out because the Lions cant win games. You can watch the 57 Championship game though.. How ironic! I predict that this is the start of a turnaround for both teams !

@vprygoski The Lions won 3 championship games in the 50's, Cleveland played in the championship game every year but one between 1946 and 1957 and lost 3 of the 4 times they played the Lions. (1946-1949 AAFC, 1950-55 and 1957 NFL.)
