One of the good responses was probably from my friend at school, he was getting warhammer and one of your vids, the blood angels one. And at school he was always saying "All I want for christmas is a Jawaballs Blood Angels Video Pack" and i was like "LOL" And then he showed me them and soon im probably gonna buy one lol.
I tried this on my rhino and it seemed like my job was much crappier than yours, I don't know if I did something wrong or the resolution of the camera softens the blending - i'll give it another try again tomorrow though I guess :)
Ok, So im a pretty big fan of your painting, So I wonder if you could help me with this. I just bought a Night Lords Army and i would like to do them in a style similar to that of your blood angels. What colors would you Paint them and do you think that the army would look good done with a similar style? I havent started painting this army yet because I want to be sure it will turn out how I want it to turn out. So if you could provide some suggestions i would appriciate it.
good dry brushing works as well- but you look is- not to offend- more animated, extreme. It DOES work, though, I use the same colors etc but just dry brush with shorter and shorter strokes.
But the vids look awesome. Good work!
I do my blood ravens a bit darker with the red but satill hilite the same color scheme.
Guess I should do some vids too- but your vids are very cool and inspirational.
True. This is a style and the highlights make em look a bit cartoony. But I think that drybrushing is harder to pull off. More often then not it just makes models look dirty and dull. It is all too easy to screw up.
Very nice Video I gonna use it to paint my Eldar Saim Hann. I learned to play from Fritz Videos! I guess you havent thought you would aid so many Xenos with this Vids XD. Thx a lot you 2 are awesome.
You are welcome, but I suggest you go with a blood red/blazing orange mix, then Elf Flesh for your highlights. I have also seen blue accents used to fantastic effect on Saim Hann models... on the tips of wings and nose cones of bikes. Good luck!
man i tried to paint one of your yle marines just for fun it was coming along good then sadly my brush hates me so i gave up threw it in a box and continued painting eldar lol marines are hard to paint
Hey jawaballs! i recently got a space marine bike, and cant field him without a squad, so i am planning on going a minor conversion to him, he will recieve my banner and a power sword, and shall become Arkio the Blessed! will this work for my HQ choice and how do i figure his points if he has captain stats and is on a bike?
Yes, but you have to follow army list rules. SOo, you can make up your own color scheme, but you have to follow rules from the Space Marine codex. You cant make up powers and abilities. You CAN take a Space Marine commander like Marneus Calgar, and change his name to Frank Buckets and paint him in your original paint scheme, and still use his powers.
NOT imposing or anything, but since your REALLY creative, have you ever considered making your own space marine tank? i converted an M18A2C tank for my orks, huge copper cannon, red chipped paint, and a skull on the front... meh pride and joy! ^_^
THe only thing with shadow grey is that it is VERY cool... meaning it has a lot of blue in it. Codex and FOrtress are neutral, so unless you want that blue hue, stick with the neutral greys.
erm... i don't think i'm competition material lol. i only just started collecting space marines and painting them and i'm not the best painter. i'm thinking of showing my guys on youtube so that i can get some comments on them.
hey I'm new to 40k and was just wondering, do you have to use those exact colours for blood angels? for my space marines I try to make my models 3-4 different colours (ex. i make the leg armour blood red and the helmet and shoulders of my model gore red and then the backpack some shade of orange) is this still a blood angel tho?
ya,thats fine 4 gaming but try and keep to the concept of the army, its ur army so u paint it wateva colours u want but the blood angels, aswell as other chapters, have rules on the colours of there heads and shoulder pads regarding there rank.
But also, Blood Angels have successor chapters that use other color schemes. Basicly paint it whatever you want. If you are going to paint for style points at competitions, follow the codex rules.
need some advice just finished putting together a land raider crusader, chapter is mortifactors which is black bone color, what would you sagest as the colour highlight on the tank considering its basically a black tank. great vid as away-ways cheers.
Lovin' the vids man, keep it up!

could you use macharius solar orange, i think that's it as an extreme highlight instead of having to mix a blazing orange and yellow.
bulaven 2 years ago
You could, but it is very matte and dull.
jawaballs 2 years ago
it looks from the pot very bright almost like fiery orange
