  • Cheer is a sport. But forget it cheerleading isn't as hard as gymnastics. Also it's nit you alone throwing a girl up in the air. You have help

  • Type in the 10 most dangerous SPORTS... guess what's number 5 Cheerleading!!!! I don't see football or soccer on the list:) Cheer is so a sport and one of the hardest out there:)

  • @twomuchdirt2 ...and I don't "need" to join an "Elite Team" to know dancing, singing and entertainment. Not saying what you do isnnt hard...just saying its not a sport. You have NO OBJECTIVE outside of entertaining a crowd. I've been to theater and dance shows enough to know.

  • @Droolbaby In competitive cheerleading, we compete against teams from all across the U.S. We are scored on perfection, even a simple bobble in a stunt is half a point off,and that alone could kill our chances of winning a national title and $3000.I've had bruises from my knees to my ankle from cheerleading, in fact, i have a DENT, a DENT, in my head from being dropped from college competitive cheerleading. The spirit team is what you're referring to, but you would DIE on a competitive team.

  • @PHCCcheerleading They do the same crap in ballet and jazz dance. Cheerleading is a gross form of dance without the percision or skill. Anyone who can't see that is blind and stupid. Stunts (movie or otherwise) are all forms of entertainment. You would see this if you pulled your head out of the clouds and actually researched and studied what is and is not a sport. Cheer, dance and theater are entertainment endevours, gymnastics is in a transition to being a sport.

  • @Droolbaby Throughout all my years of dance and cheerleading I know for a fact that they are not the same.I have never done a jazz square or 5th position in cheerleading. In cheerleading dances, you are judged by choreography, overall effect, and difficulty. I know what is and is not a sport. I'm a head competitive cheer coach and very experienced in the sport.Every sport is entertainment, especially football. Gymnastics is a sport it's not in "transition".Look up your facts(:

  • @PHCCcheerleading The same crap you are judged in a damn dance contest. You are blind. The federal courts have ruled cheer a NON-SPORT. You don't see a choreographer in basketball, football, baseball, track, field, etc. Cheer is an entertainment endeavor used to entertain the crowd while the football team sets up the next play. You have an over-inflated sense of what you are...a stripper in a mini skirt.

  • @PHCCcheerleading I have more facts about this then you do...you are attempting to hold onto an opinion that is neither substansiated by any real evidence and your ego and over-inflated sense of what you wish you could be are holding you back from understanding that cheer is a dance and entertainment activity. Cheer is no more different then ballet, jazz, tap, musical theater, movie stunt players and/or strippers. Get a grip and return to the real world.

  • @Droolbaby Obviously, you've NEVER been to a cheerleading competition.I'd LOVE to see you go try to do what we do.Elite team isn't dancing and LMAO we never sing, thats the dumbest thing ive heard,we have a short dance at the end of the routine cuz thats the last thing we do after we hit every difficult stunt we do,and when we get to the dance, its like a celebration. The rest includes tumbling, lifting 100-135 pound girls, jumping, all crammed into 2 minutes and 30 seconds.Every point is crucial.

  • @twomuchdirt2 thats laughable. Picking up a 100 pound "girl" is nothing compared to pushing around a 300 pound lineman...or throwing a 6 pound ball 65 yards with pin point accuracy while being chased by said 300 pound lineman. You are nothing more then a dancer. Go take ballet and see how closely your activities are. Besides, sports have an objective outside entertaining the crowd. Cheer and dance do not!

  • @Droolbaby I'm 100 pounds, and had to throw a 130 pound girl and hold her over my head. i want to see you throw a guy that weighs more than you above your damn head. All you have to catch is a light ball, we have to catch ATHLETES, you fight over a ball, we fight for stunts that are way harder than remembering a football play. i took ballet, and cheerleading is harder than ballet. It's nowhere close to cheerleading lmao. I have guys on my team that said that cheerleading is harder than football.

  • @PHCCcheerleading I agree. Plus cheerleading is more athletic then football, which is gay.For all you underestimaters of cheerleading: If we screw up ONE move, just ONE, we could get seriously injured or death. DEATH. Football players just tackle eachother for fucking touchdowns. CHEERLEADERS TACKLE THEIR LIFE, TO ENJOY A SPORT. So you people need to understand about cheerleading and say to yourself.. hmm, maybe cheerleading is a sport because of all the deadly moves they do.

  • @CrazyPandaify Exactly, and I love that some of the people on here compare us to jazz and ballet dancers.....last i checked....they can't die from doing what they love.

  • @Droolbaby Also we do have an objective in competitive cheerleading, you'd know this if you weren't ignorant and actually looked up your facts before sounding like a complete idiot ;)

  • i still dont understand why soo many people that think cheer isnt a sport, watch videos that are about cheer being a sport. if you dont think that it is, then why do you care so much to watch a video about it and waste you time watching and commenting on it. it just dosnt make sense to me, are your lives just that boring?

  • Uhh cheer is so a sport. Just today I lost my full, so I worked my butt off to get it back, I finally get it back, then while stunting we had to do 150 push ups because our flier fell doing a back tuck x-out basketoss, because she jumped forward...Cheer is so a sport..

  • If u say Cheerleading isn't a sports it's saying gymnastics, and acrobatics are lazy. I don't think so.

  • Ugh...I don't understand why Cheerleaders fight to be considered athletes. you dance, sing, clap all with or without music...hello, I believe that is considered ACTING/SINGING/DANCING...you people are performers. Stop giving athletes a bad name. you want to be considered athletes, play softball, basketball, powderpuff football...but don't ever consider yourselves athletes because you can sing, dance and "tumble" to a beat on the football field. Perform well and get off the field...ACTORS!!!

  • @Droolbaby : Last time I checked gymnastics IS a sport, there is a large emphasis put on tumbling abilities (Lets not confuse things, we are speaking of ALL*STAR cheering, NOT school cheering, where ability level is often much lower (no offense school cheerleaers!). This ISNT the 70's and 80's where cheerleaders stand on the side-lines yelling rah-rah & waving pom poms around.. Tossing someone that is equal to your weight can certainly also be compared to weight-lifting... shall I continue?

  • @InfernoMom Last time I checked, there was a federal court ruling stating cheerleading wasn't a sport due to the various leagues, subjective judging, no clear cut set of rules to judge the competitions and general lack of continuity between pee-wee cheering all the way to your "All Star". You obviously have not been to a ballet or hip-hop dance contest or recital...they do a lot of the same things cheerleaders do...and often do it a lot better and with more grace...shall I continue?

  • @Droolbaby .... In a Nutshell: Possessing Strength and stamina to complete a routine that is filled with dance, tumbling and lifting, and being recognized as something more than the "rah-rah" girls that they are stereotypically dubbed as... Oh and PS, we had a Football player join our All*Star team and he was more than amazed at how difficult it REALLY is... BTW, not once did I claim that Ballet or Dance were NOT difficult, IN FACT there are many "SPORTS" out there that for whoever's twisted...

  • ...reasons are deemed NOT sports... Im sure between you and I we could name several

  • @InfernoMom So, by your logic here, ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, swing, ballroom and the multitudes of other dance styles should be considered a sport? Well, then in that case, let's call everything a sport. There has to be clear cut reasons and definitions and per the federal courts, cheerleading isn't a sport. IT'S AN ATHLETIC STYLE OF ENTERTAINMENT. Just like dance, theater, darts and roller skating.

  • @Droolbaby Don't even go there.First We fight because all football players do is lift a ball and run.Baseball players swing a bat.Not saying those aren't sports, but seriously we do way more difficult things than all of you.We cheerleaders lift 100 pound girls above our heads. We have their life in our hands.Second we dont sing. Get your facts straight.Behind the smiling faces are blood sweat and tears. How about this!Go join an Elite All-Star team before you talk than you'll understand.

  • @Droolbaby did you even watch the videio ?????

  • @lovetocheer9 have you read any of the posts I have placed on here...or do you need someone to point those out to you?

  • @Droolbaby Excuse me asshole? I'm a 13 yr old male cheerleader. IT IS A SPORT. Is weightlifting a sport? Yes it is. Is gymnastics a sport? Yes it is. Is dance a sport? Yes it is. Cheerleading is considered a sport because it contains those things. I hardly know anyone who will risk their life to do a basket toss. SO KISS MY ASS.

  • @CrazyPandaify you pathetic soul...dancing is not a sport...just like cheerleading. Because you are covering up for the homosexuality you possess, doesn't mean you need to push you lack of self respect on the rest of us. Cheer is no more a sport then hop-scotch...and this comes from the federal courts. Seems like you need to find out who you are as a person, then come join the real world.

  • @Droolbaby ok just shut up have u ever even tried cheerleadinmg i bet its harderr than any of the sports u play and btw have u ever even seen a cheerleading competition. how bout this i will get my 10 best girls and u get ur 10 best girls and we will see if u can do our routine. and to make it easier we will do our minis routine not the senoir so call me and we will meet up

  • @inkpocadot33 I doubt you could hang with the girls I hang out with. We train MMA (that would be mixed martial arts...fighting...skills needed in the ring) Weights, cardio, resistence and power endurance...some skinny cheer chick couldn't stand up to the girls I train and train with...sorry, I wouldn't put you through that...and no...MMA isn't a sport...it's an art....hence Mixed Martial Arts...

  • @Droolbaby are you stupid i would liketo see u do half the stuff us COMPETITON CHEERLEADERS DO!!!!!!! we are all about strenght and stanima... cheerleading is a very dangerous...i bet more injuries happen doing cheerleading than STUPID FOOTBALL...if cheerleading were easy they would call it football...give us 2:30 and we will show u what a champion looks like...we are not actors we are hard workers !!!!

  • @chickendue5 I will attempt to comment to your post...considering the lack of spelling, grammar and thoughtless ramblings, I doubt you will be able to read this. According to the 9th District Court, cheerleading is not a sport. You are a bunch of strippers performing for the football fans. 2:30 isn't a game, it's a performance. You want to be an athlete, join a softball team...until then, get back to your stripper pole routines and leave the athletics to the real athletes.

  • If there's barely any running involved I'd call it more of a recreational hobby.

And running across a stage to get thrown a few feet in the air doesn't count.

  • @joshwalon ...I'd love to see you give it a try ;)

  • @InfernoMom I'd love to see YOU try ballet or hip hop...it's not a sport JUST because you lift or throw someone in the air...ballet dancers have been doing THAT for centuries.

  • @InfernoMom Me to

  • @joshwalon sooo you're saying swimming and hockey isn't a sport? hmmm think before you speak or in this case type which requires thinking to do...

Try throwing a 100+ pound girl in the air to the ultimate hight just to please your school so they don't assume they're cheerleaders 'suck'.

  • @joshwalon Nothing says that we don't run during practice. A usual competitive cheer team,is required to be able to run 5 miles without being out of breath at the end. In routines, you have to throw 125 pounds girls up to 6 times,do jumps, tumbling, and yell, and at the end, still not be out of breath. What we do, isn't some hobby, and there is running involved, tumbling, thats where the running on mats come involved. It takes more to do a backhand backhand twist layout, than to run a couple laps.

  • @joshwalon Mmm honey, I'd like to see you TRY to do a basket toss. Cheerleading isn't what it seems it is. Everything in cheerleading counts. Its not just being simply tossed into the air. Its much more. So think before you come and just think cheerleading is just being tossed.

  • @joshwalon Oh. When was I informed? We have to run atleast 5 miles. Its not a recreational hobby, its not a hobby at all exactly. Its a sport, and we don't run across a damn stage, we get in a position for what we do, we do it, and we might die from it, so it technically DOES count because uhm, have you ever tried it, no I doubt you have, and if you want to try, I'd love to, I would prove you wrong. So I'd shut my fat ass mouth if I were you.

  • Ok I have to say cheerleading is not a sport when you do sidelines but if you are a cheerleader that compets then it's a sport

  • @stormz4eva imeant kick toss , sorry .

  • @stormz4eva ihave my quad you dumbass , jaja but when you do that kickdouble , you have people throw you up , we have to push off the floor ourselves , and youknow there will always be people there to catchyou .

  • If it is sport, why isn't it in the olympics?

  • @ctatertot9 That's a good question because there have been studies on All-star or competitive cheerleading and they said that it takes as much skill as an athletic gymnast depending on the level of the team.

  • @ctatertot9 y isnt lacross in the olympics?

  • @stormz4eva : Excellent question tater!

  • @ctatertot9 is football in the olympics? is baseball? is wrestling? no. gymnastics is. cheerleading is almost the same as gymnastics except it doesnt have bars, beam and vault. its like a floor routine except 50x more. it requires strength to lift, and tumble, and the stamina to dance as well. im a gymnast and a cheerleader and cheerleading is harder than gymnastics. and im a level 8. it may not be in the olympics, but it sure as hell is a sport.

  • @cousincullens They lift themselves and do all the stuff fliers do and land it. Nothing compares to olympic level gymnastics.

  • @cousincullens I was never doubting it if it is a sport or not. Competitive cheer is a sport, not school cheer. Baseball was in the olympics which means it is still recognized as a sport. wrestling is in the olympics, and football is only played in America. Gymnastics no doubt is way harder. You said your level 8 cheerleader, but thats nothing compared to level 5 gymnastics. Gymnast are stronger, better tumblers, and use more stamina. your tumbling is easily done by gymnasts on 4 inch beams.

  • @ctatertot9 i didnt say i was a level 8 cheerelader. im a level 8 gymnast. level 5 is NOTHING. ive been doing gymnastics for 8 years and i think i know a little more than u considering your only level 5.. floor routines for optionals are 1:30(in case u didnt know cause you havent gotten there) but cheer is 2:30 WITH stunting and tumbling. you dont know cause you havent done both of them.get your facts strait.beam is hard, but YOU do a cartwheel.once you GET to uper levels and is stronger its easy

  • @cousincullens Have seen olympic level gymnast or level 10 gymnasts? Do you see how hard they work? No other sport in the world works harder that professional gymnasts.

  • Comment removed

  • @ctatertot9 again, how would u know... your level 5. for level 5 gymanstics you are a level 2. and their are 6 levels. cheerleaders do the same exact tumbling PLUS some. you also have to stunt/dance. you dont have any knowlege on cheerleading so i dont even know why your commenting on this video. you only do gymnastics, and havent done cheer. i thought gymnastics would be harder considering im level 8, but cheer is way harder. i think i would be a better source to see which is harder.psh level 5

  • @cousincullens The only reason Gymnastics is in the Olympics is it's the only "sport" women do that the world will actually watch other then figure skating....just FYI...and cheerleading is dancing/singing/acting on a football field...nothing "sporty" about that is there? Cheerleaders are performers...gymnasts are athletes...don't confuse the 2...you'll just have to sccept that fact.

  • @Droolbaby singing? really? have you seen all star cheer? its all stunting/tumbling/dancing. have you ever cheered in your life before? no. ive done both and i can tell you that cheerleading is more fun, harder, and requires SOO much more stamina than gymnastics. all star cheer your not on a football field or basketball court. JUST competing. honestly, try it before you comment. i was a level 8 training 9 gymnast and cheerleader at the same time and went to all cheer cause it was harder. shut up

  • @cousincullens You just answered your own argument...dancing/stunting/tumbling...cheerleading (at any level) is comprable to a circus act or a show at the Venetian. I am a stuntman...and even though I do much of the same types of move YOU do (try a fall from 30 feet and land in a bag...I don't consider my job a sport...it's entertainment....just like cheerleading...pure entertainment.

  • @Droolbaby do you have to throw someone? you need muscle to do that. if you have ever seen a cheer team at practice all summer, the ONLY thing we do is condition... to build muscle... to be able to throw and lift people. and when we go to competitions we arent there to "entertain" people... we go to win, and get the best scores we can to go to bigger competitions(nationals, worlds etc.)we are not at a game. all stars is ALL competition.not for a school.and most definitely not only entertainment.

  • @cousincullens don't get me wrong, there is a certain amount of "athletic" ability to do what we do. You throw your friends into the air, I throw my friends into walls, windows, off moving vehicle as well as drag, roll and fight each other to make it look good and still maintain a safe environment for all. But, unlike you, I do not consider myself an athlete. I am an entertainer. Cheerleaders are in the same position...entertainers...and I condition year around for my art...

  • @Droolbaby im just gonna stop this now, cause your obviously retarded. your a circus freak, everyone knows it. im a cheerleader, which is an ATHLETE. its a sport, and i know it cause i do it. you dont, you dont know shit, so shut up :) no one cares about the circus, face the facts, and keep going. i dont like you, and im glad i will never meet you, cause no one likes circus freaks. k old lady? goodbye and keep going with your weird circus life.

  • @cousincullens ok, I will accept the fact I may be a circus freak..I get paid well to do what I do. Am I athletic (I play hockey) but I make no bones about my stunt profession being anything more then performance. You, however need to learn the difference between sport AND performance. If cheer is considered a sport, then we need to define dance, acting, singing and stunt work as sports as well, and what makes you think I'm an old lady? Can't hold a discussion, so you insult me...a 27 y/o man.

  • @Droolbaby ok cheer had NOTHING WHAT SO EVER to do with cheer. you dont even talk in cheer dumbass.

  • @cousincullens No I don't talk in "cheer" I talk in normal, reality based language (known to most people as American English...not to be confused with British English)...welcome to the real world sweetheart. Thanks for noticing.

  • @Droolbaby i ment, why the fuck is singing even in this. when your doing a routine, you dont talk. if you do your retarded. if you sing you are REALLy retarded. how can cheer even be COMPARED to singing? wtf is wrong with you? and i live in california. i speak english "sweetheart" thought you were a man...

  • @cousincullens The cheer routines on the field and in "comp" require some sort of rythmic version of "Go Fight Win"...that is nowhere close to being athletic, but musical and performance based. Without it, you are a dance squad (sister cheers) With that said, cheer is compared to singing rather then an athletic endevour. Don't get me wrong, cheering and other performance arts have their place in society...just stop trying to compare yourself to some athlete and consider yourself a performer.

  • @Droolbaby your stupid. ALL STAR CHEERLEADING. YOU DONT CHEER FOR A SCHOOL. YOU DONT CHANT OR ANYTHING. tell me if you see ANY cheering WHAT SOEVER IN THIS ROUTINE. Seach cheer extreme-worlds 2010. the second one down by MyPositionIsTop. you obviously havent even seen a halftime in your life either. the only time there is cheering at ALL is on sidelines. get your facts strait genius.

  • @cousincullens Whoa...slow your roll sweetheart...1. I was high school football linebacker...our halftime was the marching band..not a bunch of girls jumping around "chanting" 2. My sister was in cheer and HAD to do some chanting to be considered "competition" style cheerleading. 3. No chanting THE ROUTINE is considered A DANCE ROUTINE. So, before you start blowing your lid, maybe you should realize, like my sister finally did, YOU'RE A PERFORMER..NOT AN ATHLETE.

  • @cousincullens From YOUR page. Look up Nor Cal Cheerleading Championships 2011 and listen at 1:13. Seems there IS singing and chanting in cheerleading competitions. WOW A football player who knows what he is talking about. Scary. It is a great song and dance routine by the way.

  • @Droolbaby CAUSE ITS HIGH SCHOOL. its a requirement!! im talking about ALL. STAR. CHEER. LEADING. and if you "sing" you get deducted. think what you want freak but i know its a sport because I DO IT. if you think gymnastics is a sport then you sure as hell should think cheer is. i did both. i know a LOTT more than you.

  • @cousincullens What you think and what you know is two different things...you are no more athletic than a ballet dancer...are you willing to call ballet, jazz, tap and hip hop dance sports? If you are, you need to really take a LONG look at what you consider performance and sports. You are athletic...but cheer is FAR from a sport...it's an entertaining way to keep people around during timeouts and something for the kicker to aim at during field goal attempts.

  • @cousincullens ...and ALL STAR CHEER IS THE BROADWAY OF CHEERLEADING...it's not a sport..it's an activity..per federal court judges and ACTUAL ATHLETES who know the difference between sports and performing.

  • @Droolbaby ok. your obviously RETARDED k? your 27 and your hating on something that has changed in the bast couple years. you dont know cause your too old to actually see. the only reason your even commenting on this is cause you cant get any and your a circus freak. your stupid, and no one likes you. get a life old man and just stop talking.

you have just been owned by a fifteen year old. how does that make you feel freak?

  • @cousincullens Actually, sweetheart, I am studying Exercise and Sport Science in school. I figure I would do something with my GI benefits from serving in the Army for 8 years. So, unfortunately for you, all you have done is attempt to anger someone who ACTUALLY studies sports science. I have had this conversation in class and no "cheerleader" has given me a proper argument to actually show me that cheerleading is a sport. There is no objective view point most cheerleaders have to make a point.

  • @cousincullens ...and so you know...Exercise and Sports Science is the first step to Medical School so I can practice Sports Medicine...so your argument holds no water and it sounds like the person angered at this debate is a 15 year old with no form of concrete data to support her idea that cheerleading is anything more then an athletic form of performance art...good try though...do you have ANY data to prove to me cheerleading should be considered a sport?

  • For shits sake i thought this was a hate video. I wanted to see all the bad comments >=)

  • JAJAJA !! , that was funny.. everything you guuys do ( exept tumbling ) you have someone there to catch you jaj a, so if you throw like a double back in the air , you have your stunt group there ! i am a gymnast . i have to do double layouts , of the bars and on the floor , having NO ONE there to catch me , and all that requires so much more strength then you would ever imagen , no this is not a sport .

  • @gymmfreaky try being thrown 20 feet up into the air, then catching your own fall and popping out of it like nothing happened. Yeah, you are a gymnast, and that requires alot of skill as well, but I'd love to see you throw 130 pounds of human being up into the air and make it look EASY (:

  • @gymmfreaky try being thrown 20 feet up into the air, then catching your own fall and popping out of it like nothing happened. Yeah, you are a gymnast, and that requires alot of skill as well, but I'd love to see you throw 130 pounds of human being up into the air and make it look EASY (:

  • @gymmfreaky No we don't we do pretty much everything you do... the only time we have to have someone catch us doing double layouts is when we are learning the trick and... that's it.

  • @gymmfreaky ok u try doin a a kick twist basket toss wit 5 rotations by urself...o rly... u cnt... NO DUH U NEED SUM1 TO FUCKIN CATCH YOU!

  • ok this is wat is pissing me and many other people off. u all think that just because ur a cheerleader ur awesome and so tough and athletic. this is wat every single routine is- tumbling at the beginning. 5 people throwing some one up into the air with more tumbling in front of that. then at the end there is a pyramid. i agree that it is not easy but it is not something to brag and act tough about. a tough sport that is hard in nearly all aspects if not all is wrestling.

  • Court rules cheerleading is contact sport, yet many states for high school sports are not ruling it a sport.

  • @xoxCheerGurl0331xox That is because cheerleading is not a sport, it is performance based entertainment. I don't go to the football games to watch the athletic abilities of the cheerleaders..I go to watch the sportsmanship of the football team and to see the legs of the cheerleaders when a time out is called...there is nothing athletic about cheer...other then how well you keep their bodies. Preverted...maybe...truthful...most definately.

  • alright people, im getting a seriously annoyed by this entire topic now. everyone that commented, for either side need to just give it up. it truly doesnt matter. the tittle of being a sport, doesnt change its difficulty, what you do. or ANYTHING. its simply a tittle. if you need the satisfaction of having it called a sport, then your not cheering because you love it, your doing it for the attention and opinions of others. if you enjoy what your doing it doesnt matter what any1 else thinks.

  • that would be an insult to all althletes if cheerleading was considered a sport. yelling in high pitched voices, then being thrown up in the air, is not a sport.

  • cheerleading is a sport!

  • @houndscheer1996 btw u forgot all about gymnastics u have to remember 3 rountines and Cheerleaders throw you up in the air and help u get in the air and do flips and blah blah blah in gymnastics u have to rely on urself of get up in the air. BIG difference there

  • Anybody who's saying it's NOT a sport? Get down and slide into a splits. That's the most basic move in the book and I'll bet you can't even do that.

Football is running with a ball and tackling anybody in your way.

Cheerleading is flexibility, balance, strength, lifting people, getthing thrown in the air, and memorizing your moves.

If you mess up in football or basketball you drop a ball. We save your dignity by distracting the crowd. So stop dissing us and you're welcome. :)

  • cheerleading is a semi sport, but only on tuesdays, cause all its for is to cheer on other REAL sports like football and basketball. Burned.

  • It is physical activity. but so is dance, surfing, figure skating and gymnastics.

all are NOT sports. if a judge determines the winner. instead of a set scoring system than it is NOT a sport. a sport must be objective instead of determind by a single person (that's subjective.) you also have to be directly competeting against another athlete to have it be a sport. and have there performance effect your performance. so bowling is not a sport.

  • Hahahhahahaahhaha I don't care what ANYONE SAYS so don't even waist ur breath.. Cheerleading is not nor will it never be a sport in any professional eye. So sorry. See ya.

  • cheerleading is too asport

  • I am a Competitvie cheerleader and I will have to say Cheerleading Number 2 Dangerous sport 1st will have to be Cave Diving but Cheerleading will have to be 1/2 away from being 1st!!! This is a good thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @TheCheerbeauty Since when is cave diving a sport? Thats more a hobby, like spelunking

  • cheerleading is a sport

  • and btw......... high school and jr high cheerleaders are just as good as allstar cheerleaders... well MOST of the time.. our jv squad is waaaaaaaaaaayyyy better than the allstar cheerleaders in our town

  • @harrybrook92 IN competitions cheerleaders are judged!!! and b4 u say it isnt a sport..... u try standing on girls hands, having them throw you up and then trust them to catch you! try them throwing you up in the air and doing a back tuck or toetouch in mid air!!!!!!!! then you stand on one leg up in the air!! you try that and THEN tell me its not a sport.............

  • Cheer is a sport but gymnastics is a MUCH HARDER sport. Everything u do u can easily miss a little thing and then BAM ur flat on the ground trying not to cry. Where in cheer ur flat on the ground crying so u could get attention. Excample: I went to try a double layout of bars but I let go 1sec late and landed on the bar. OUCH!!!! It hurts!!!! I laid on the ground 4 little bit then tried to get up.. Didn't work my coach had to Cary me. Yet I didn't cry 1tear. And this is an absolutley true story.

  • Damn HighSchool Cheerleaders -_-. They ruin the reputation of all us Allstar cheerleaders :l

  • Indeed.

  • I would do allstars but my parents can't pay /=

  • yesss they do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I AM A CHEERLEADER and I think : Competitive cheerleading is a sport. Standing on the sidelines of a game cheering is not a sport. I think this is why everyone is arguing. EVERYONE SEES CHEERLEADING DIFFERENTLY!!!!!!!!!

  • @xtaryn92x i dont comoletly agree! high school cheerleaders or at least my team compete. our squad went to the disney world competition.

  • Comment removed

  • fuck cheerleading is a sport and all u who say it isnt arnt cheerleaders, u cant judge something u dont know anything about and if its not a sport try it and prove it others wise u all wrong

  • my cuz fucken died about a month ago from getting droped in a cheer stunt so all of you stupid dumb asses that think cheerleading isnt a sport, can kiss my fucken ass and then go to hell!

  • im sorry about your cousin, but danger doesn't make it a sport.

  • @LIVEloveCHEER1 so if someone dies doing it that makes it a sport? wow then getting food from a vending machine is a sport. more people die from vending machine accidents each yer than shark attacks. sorry about your cousin... thats extremely unfortunate.

  • Naw, it's not the danger factor. It's just the things we do. It's not easy, and that's all we're saying. You can die from almost everything! It's just the fact that people would never think from cheerleading. [=

  • A sport is competitive, physically active, and has rules. Cheerleading is competitive and there are competitions, therefore, yes, it is a sport. Not as a whole but there are still competitions and All Star Cheerleaders are pretty damn amazing and deserve some respect.

  • @xmmxsheba haha, thats awesome. I also enjoy when they use the dictionary's use of the word sport. If it requires physical exertion and has competition its a sport, but by that logic, Life itself is a sport, requires physical exertion, your competition is EVERYONE on Earth.

  • It is a sport. All the people saying it isn;t is only because eating chips all dady and getting fat, to them is a sport! Try surviving an hour of cheer practice. Solid. Hard. practice. My warm up takes a frikenn hour!

  • 1. no need for generalizations, its like saying all cheerleaders are stupid it isn't true, i don't think it is a sport and i have a six pack and like 7% body fat.

    2. practice doesn't make it a sport

  • No, cheerleading is NOTTTT a sport!

  • u dont know cuz u dont no the first thing about it

  • Finally someone agrees with me! IT IS A SPORT!

  • okthank u! :)

  • at 47 seconds is that magic allstars in cali???

  • No, that is actually the Lake City All*Stars (now Inferno Athletics) of New Hampshire!! =)

  • Cheerleading is a sport. Everyone says any activity that competes is a sport so BAM!

  • It's not a sport. And it's stupid. BAM!

  • stfu. no one asked you.

  • No one cares.

  • do you lift people.... i rest my case

  • @peaceluvcheer97 yes......hahahahaha! You just got served!

  • A sport, as already pointed out, is something that is physically active, competitive, and has rules. Competitive Cheer is all that.

  • @Iichyaa i wasnt saying it isnt a sport. i was just commenting on someone elses logic. and in my opinion. the title of sport holds no bearing. it doesnt change anything about the activity. being a sport doesnt make it any better or worse.

  • it is a sport!

  • Sorry ,, but I'm a Cheerleader and YES IT IS A SPORT !! you reeeeaaalllyyyyy need to work out ... when you throw a girl in the air ,, its NOT easy .. and other things too ,, but I wont say because it whod be to long !

  • i cheer for my school && we compete too

&& we have everything, tumbling, stunting dancing, && cheering,

  • school cheer is not a sport, BUTTTTT, competitive cheerleading is totally absolutely a sport in every shape or form

  • um cheerleading is not a sport it is a spiritual encurage ment

whoever says athletes lift wheights but cheerleaders lift athletes its wrong athletes lift wheights but cheerleaders lift other cheerleaders not athletes cause cheerleaders arent athletes!!!

    K@/\/\m!3e

  • umm excuse me. cheerleaders are athletes. we need to work out to keep in shape and to be able to perform all of our stunts and tumbling in our routines. its not as easy as it looks. i dare you to try surviving just an hour of a practice then u tell me it isn't a sport because it most certainly is. we are athletes just like football players and baseball players and anyone else who competes with their TEAM!

  • U try lifting someone above your head & keep them sturdy while they twist their body into pretzel forms and smile at the same time. Try throwing someone into the air, watch them spin & catch them. Looping your hands together like a basketball & throwing them high enough they can touch the sky. Getting hit, kicked, slapped, and shake it off because u have to keep going. Break a couple of arms & still push yourself to keep going. Sweat so much because u've been doing tucks & back hand springs....

  • excatly what i explain to people

  • Sure, its a sport, and hard, but DEFINATELY not the hardest.

  • cheerleading is DEFINETELY A SPORT!!!!! even HIGH SCHOOL CHEER is one. if u say otherwise ur preetty much saying halftime performing isnt part of the sidelines right? bcuz casa roble trains just as hard as any top freakin gun all star teams. thye want it just as bad to. so SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!

  • i agree with you 100%

  • It is a sport!

  • if ist not a sport what is it ( duh a sport )

  • @iWasMadeInTheUsa Its a sideline activity to cheer for true sports. Competitive cheerleading is almost a sport, but its not because of the lack of a League with a governing body, point system and lack of fan base.

  • im a cheerleader and me n my dad got into a fight he thinks cheer isnt a sport thats why we got into a fight

  • At least competitive cheerleading IS a sport, they compete against each other and work as a TEAM. School cheerleading is still a sport, not as skilled as competitive cheer, but still a sport.

  • umm school cheerleaders do compete

  • @MamaBarb03 SOME school cheerleading are not as skilled, but A LOT, including my high school and high schools in my area, most of our teams contain level 5 allstar girls & boys. I tottally understand why you are saying it's not as skilled, but you should definitly look more closely at some of the talent of high school teams.

  • the definition of the word "sport" is "an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature"

last time i checked cheerleading (at least all star cheerleading) is an athletic activity that requires skills and being competitive. and i agree that school cheerleading isn't a sport.

  • school cheerleading is deff a sport. it does require skill and being compeitive.

  • okay well school cheerleading that goes to competitions is a sport. but at my school it's not a sport.

  • Comment removed

  • Seriously! If you don't think cheerleading is a sport come to one of my practices for a half an hour and then tell me what you think. Then when you go cry to your mom, my team and I will continue doing our thing for another 2 and a half hours!

  • @CougarCheerRox just because something is physically demanding doesnt make it a sport...

  • @CougarCheerRox try coming to one of MY practices for 4 and a half hours at the gym. gymnastics is way harder then cheer, and you cheerleaders wouldnt last half an hour.

  • get it through your head. cheeleading. is. a. sport.

  • cheer IS a sport and any one who saes different shud spend a day in the gym

  • are you kidding me? what about cheerleading isnt a sport? ok so we where uniforms and all look alike. we practice hard and work together as a team. what about that is diffrent from football? o yeah it takes more than 1 person to get a girl in the air you dont 4 to 5 people to get a ball down the feild!!! so if cheerleading isnt a sport then eaither is track, golf, weight lifting, swimming. now, anyhting you would like to say?? CHEERLEADING IS MOST DEFFINTALY A SPORT!!!

  • if cheering isnt a sport, than how come all of the girls are FIT and SKINNY?? umm...yeah, answer that :]

  • cheerleading is 100% a SPORT. i'm on a team that we DO cheer at football games...and i do agree that just cheering sidelines isnt a sport. but we dont just do that! we also compete...even tho we are not an allstar elite team...we work really hard! my team is planning on going to states...regionals...then nationals this season. so overall, yes cheerleading is definetly a sport. thanks and have a great day (: <3 DLGVC <3

  • damn i cant believe people are on here long enough to actually have converstation hahah but anyways you totally could have showed some better stunts no joke lol

  • id lik 2c u do a standing back
