Brock looked over matched in that. He couldn't get the takedowns and quite frankly, he was getting smashed. He got lucky that Carwin had poor conditioning.
Brock Lesnar proved at 116 that he can take some SERIOUS FUCKING punishment and still come out on top with the win. This man is for real and he will only improve over the coming years. I expect Lesnar to end his career with a record somewhere close to Fedor Emelianenkos (31-1) if not better.

Are you a trained MMA referee? What it looks like on TV and what it looks like to trained referees are 2 different things. Whats more, Brock clearly came out the next round ready for more with a full gas tank and won.

He had his face covered and he was pushing him away with his legs. Carwin didn't land too many shots once it hit the ground, that's why Brock didn't get finished.

A standing broad jump of 8.10 sucks. Lesnar at Vikings camp weighs at 290lbs and runs a 4.7 40. Has a vertical of 35" and a standing broad jump of 10ft. There is a reason why Lesnar was invited to camp having not played ball since high school and there is a reason why Carwin never made it.

@CrimnlBT Well he wasn't hurt when Carwin was blasting him on the ground and Rosenthal (the ref) saw this and yeah he was intelligently defending himself. He had his face covered and he was pushing him away with his legs. Carwin didn't land too many shots once it hit the ground, that's why Brock didn't get finished.

Stats do matter, but I think Brock is taking Shane light and most guys get run over that way. We will see what happens on July 3rd, so stop all the talk and lets get to it. Brock is an awesome athlete and I hope he has a good performance of his ability. I want to see Shane give the fight his dynamic, let the chips fall where the may.

@jn1175 the thing about brock is that he doesn't respect anyone. he believes the second u show your opponent respect your that much closer to losing. Knowing where your opponent is strongest and avoiding it doesn't mean you respect them. Brock doesn't respect anyone. Even when he fought randy, someone he actually respects, he said once he got in the cage he couldnt respect him anymore cuz u have to get the killer instinct. you cant worry about what your opponents gonna do. @megathorne All you have to do is look at the 1998 combine results of Shane Carwin to know he IS NO WHERE near the athlete Lesnar is. Running a 4.93 40 at 257lbs sucks. A 30.5" vertical sucks. A standing broad jump of 8.10 sucks. Lesnar at Vikings camp weighs at 290lbs and runs a 4.7 40. Has a vertical of 35" and a standing broad jump of 10ft. There is a reason why Lesnar was invited to camp having not played ball since high school and there is a reason why Carwin never made it.

@megathorne Brock was the 2000 NCAA D1 285lbs Wrestling champ, he has plenty of real wrestling experience, he was in the finals the year before losing to future Pats guard Steve Neal by 1 point as Neal got an escape. There is video here on youtube that has both matches. Whether or not Carwin KO's him or not remains to be seen, not saying he won't but not saying he will either

oh wow sad....you can tell he's a shadow of his former self, fat, slow, just looks like he was hit SO hard by that illness....That sucks to see because I'm from minnesota, and he basically put us on the map for MMA (unlike that brett rogers piece of crap). Look, I'm a HUGE Carwin fan, borderline fanboy I'll admit, but honestly, Brock will be ready to go, and will give Carwin a war. Brock is a very driven competitor, and will feel he has something to prove. This video is MONTHS old; whether he will be in the same shape as before is yet to be seen, but whether he is or not, Brock will be ready for a war. I've got Carwin taking the win, but Brock won't go down easily.
