I held onto past discrimmination for most of my life and blamed the people who did the discriminating. I went to a private university on an academic scholarship mostly, but I had to work 30 hours a week to afford the rest. The minority students were driving nicer cars, did not have to work and not once did I see any of them be discriminated against. Stop using it as an excuse. If what you say was common practice today, there would not be so many successful minorities today.

I respect your opinion but, I think that it falls short of being a rebuttal of African-American resentment. Slavery is an old practice but American enslavement was unique because of its intentional cultural, physical, psychological and long-term annihilation of Brown people in this country. It was simply dirtier here. My take on it is that Micehele Obama is seeing a change in the mindset in this country. A midset t hat was lost in the democratic party after JFK and shifted into the GOP with Reagan and was lost again with Clinton. Now it's coming back stronger than ever. Obama is a modern version of FDR, JFK and Ronald Wilson Reagan all rolled up into one. This country needs him badly and that is what Michele Obama is so excited about.
