Are you guys joking? Beckham is good but his skills are subtle, he is a playmaker who plays deadly through balls and crosses, but he does NOT run with the ball, beat players one-on-one, score goals, etc. This enormous hoopla is building up for a huge letdown because all the football-beginners who eventually watch will be expecting Michael-Jordan-style dominance in games the likes of which even Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka cannot deliver, let alone an aging and slow David Beckham.

He should have been sold as a Steve Nash type of player, which is what he is. He sets people up and puts the ball where it needs to be. Adu was flashy but now he's at Benefica.

he'll prove them all wrong once he gets over the injury and starts playing. we all saw how well he was playing at the end of last season, surelly he'll be as good on MLS which way inferior to what he's used to.
