@HeDoesGraff Trust me I know, I have an M. A roll bar for a Mustang or Camaro is $180 at Jegs. Cheapest you can find one for a 3 series anywhere is about $500. Nuts..
Can somebody please tell me where my spark plugs are, I have a 1980 chevy malibu classic with the 231 3.8....There is a ton of shit all over and I am a moron
it would be cool if you lived next door so that you can teach me something about cars cause i spend alot of money on the most basic things to do on a car.
Thanks a lot for this self-explanatory video! Now my problem is I have a '97 Sunfire (2.2L as well), but the wires run to the lower back of the engine. Any tip/video/suggestion on how to change them? Thanks again, great videos!
@camel9 I been there done that so do them one at a time and you have to route them the same way as the old ones. You will have to go by feel since the coil is mounted in the back or use a mirror to reflect on what you need to see. Just make sure you do not pull more than one off. Make sure they click when installing them. Do not unclip or pull the cam sensor wire which is right next to it. My sister's B/f did that and it was a pain to get it on there by feel.
@jimmy101112000 Hi there... well... due to several circumstances, it was almost impossible to do it... it just happened that the car needed new brakes and suspension and the guys at the workshop kindly replaced the wires for free! Thanks anyway for your advice!
@mattsanford84 Yeah for the matter of getting the same wear pattern that was established from the original one. You just might have to install new push rods and rocker arms once they start to chatter and make noise from accelerated wear. But it may not hurt them also. But normally people do not mix them up. It will be easy to replace them on this engine if it comes to that.
The one you really need to worry about is the 3100 engine and 3400 since push rods are different sizes.
how many miles were on this car when you changed them? Do you have a mileage recommendation to change them or how old the car is? I read where 100,000 miles is a good time to change the plug wires. I have 120,000 miles with the factory wires still on. Plugs have always been changed at 30,000 miles. Which plug wires is better, bosch or NGK?
@XYtruck25 I think the car had around 130k at the time. 100k has been the rule of thumb for years but the manufacture typically has a suggestion in the manual. I like NGK but Bosch work just as well.
Nice video Johnny. Always helps a bit to twist the wire before pulling it off. Specially on the older cars. Im sure you know this, but a tip for the viewers ;). Hows the Bimmer 350 going? =D
