probably the best song they have.... hard to say because so many of Charle's songs are sublime. Cactus and River Euphrates, Gouge away...... I have listened to them almost daily since 1988 and not once got sick of them.

I saw Nirvana twice when they toured Australia in 1992, and although I was heavily into The Pixies, i appreciated Nirvana and if you do your homework you will see such music luminaries that use The Pixies as a major reference to their music. Smells like teen spirit was directly Kurt trying to emulate the Pixies.

i'm, always surprised how many aboslute Pixies classics were written in their earliest beginning period. Song like Her comes your man, Down to the well or Subbacultcha are already on the purple tapes. It must have been in incredible creative period.

That said, it's so strange to see the young Frank letting that unbelievable voice rip. He really grew into it, but here it's bizarre seeing this young, slender man roaring into the mic like that.
