  • PAUL! <3

  • I still remember the very first time I heard him sing on Hear 'n' Aid. Probably the best Rock Vocalist ever.

  • Rough Cutt rulez.

  • this is an insult to metal

  • @trilobite3339 nope melodic metal core is an insult to metal, and so are you.

  • A real METAL ANTHEM...by his own weight !

  • great voice, but "The Duke Fame" was more reality than acting....LOL One of my favorite bands from the 80's....really wish they had caught on

  • Shortie is a God - he should have throngs of women licking his toes...

  • We loved this band - and still do - best damn Rock singer ever <3

lol.... Was Alford ever inspired by Vinny Appice.... me to, but I couldn't afford that big of a kit

  • We loved this band - and still do - best damn Rock singer ever <3

  • Paul Shortino is great. I feel like I'm dreaming again... I wish I had a time machine and visit the 80s. The 80s were great! I remember buying Aqua Net hairspray and teasing my hair a mile high.

  • Is that Jake E Lee?

  • amazing voice!! great singer....Paul is the king!!!

  • are there no videos recorded with jake e lee as guitarist, i'd kill for any of those!

  • Awesome Song ! ! ! ! Bad Ass Band !! ! ! ! !

  • Awesome stage setup.

  • If you listen closely the arrangement for this song is different than the album version. The solos are earlier in the song on studio version. Amir told me it was a arrangement change made by the producer.

  • how this band never made it big like some other LA acts of the time, I will never know...

  • @zico81 NONE of the truly great LA bands made it big - not Warrior, not Armored Saint, not Malice, not Racer X, not Leatherwolf (if you count them as LA and not OC), not Rough Cutt. Which just goes to show that most people had questionable taste even back then.

  • @SabuPtolemy Dude, that is SO true. Almost all my favorite bands from that era didn't make it big with Rough Cutt leading the pack. I loved Black N Blue also (who were from Portland however I think they played the LA scene for awhile).

  • @TexanGiant Yeah, BNB were from Portland but got their break in L.A.. LOVE the first BNB album - after that they got wimpy and lost the edge they had early on.

  • i saw them open up for dio they were cool

  • is that chris hager with on the first guitar solo

  • oh my godddddddddd....... my heart stops beating this is amazing yeahaaaa....

  • great voice Paul!! amazing singer!!

  • Its nice to know that this video is still making the rounds 25 years later. Someone added titles but the ACTUAL video of this clip is from my original VHS tape recorded off my TV back in '85. I think I was the ONLY person on the planet who recorded this performance of them. They were unknown but I read about them in Kerrang. I can tell its from my VHS master because little tracking lines appear exactly like they do on my video master tape. I can't believe its STILL being traded 25 years later.

  • @RocktheStageNYC

All I can say is thanks :)

  • One of the best off the first major. Shortino is an excellent singer.

  • still one of the awesome bands from the 80's!!

  • Dave's a real Vinny Appice fan, as I am...hehe

  • one of the greatest unknown bands of all time

  • @jhnm156 - totally agree with you... and one of the 5 best singers ever....

    Hello from Sweden btw =)

  • @Zazquatch1

Hello Sweden. Yes PS is one of the best singers in rock ever.

  • i ve searched this song for 8 years now,had it on an old tape just the song...and i found it last year....i ve been crying listening to this masterpiece...is one of the best ballads ever.,..and i mean it...the original is far way better than this live version...i will always enjoy it till i die... ;)

  • I concure tottaly . I just found some of his stuff that i used to listen too he rocked on e of the best in his day over the top vocals feel for the music magic truly. thats onereason he was featured on stars(hearn aid). very underated cant believe they did not have more success al thou actually they were known well abraod.

  • there is beeter live version on here .live in Japan

  • @planetadamhaddem - Paul mainly appeared on "Stars" because Wendy Dio was their manager.

Did you know that Rough Cutt got this "Rock Palace" show because they wanted DIO on the show and he insisted they be put on if they wanted him to appear.

  • @sophago

i will always enjoy it till i die... ;)

    Nice. I will too.

  • @sophago - this live appearance was before they recorded the 1st album.

  • whos that with the red guitar

  • @nucleardude11 - Chris Hagar - before his hair extensions.

  • paul sucked at quiet riot... that i wanna say is that i didnt waiting more from him till i saw this he is awsome singer but not for glam metal... no way a metal singer...

  • Wow..I know Amir was always one to experiment with strange guitar tones, but ..wow.

Also.. does Chris have a skullet?

  • Amir ended up in Orgy... awful

  • I grew up in the 80's and still love the music but this band sucks.I seen them with LA Guns and they were horrible.Orgy is much better.

  • This is the second song I heard from this band and this is way better then the first.

  • This band sound great ! thanks for sending Diopriest

never gonna die /,,/ /,,/ whooooo

Thanks again for sharing ps lover

  • Seek help quickly...

  • i love rough cutt such an awesome underrated band thanks jay for getting me into them

  • Thanks for sending Diopriest, this is my fav. song of Rough cutt. /,,/,,/,,/

Long live Godlike Ronnie Dio! ;)

  • This band wasn't horrible, but the Circle Jerks blew them off the stage on this Rock Palace performance. What rocket scientist put that show together?

Paul had a good voice, but remained in the shadow of the Godlike Ronnie Dio.

  • @djjserpico - although they appeared on the same broadcast, the actual live performances were tapes on different days.

  • Dio's wife wendy managed the band.Fucking great band that didnt get the exposure they deserve.Paul Shortino has an unfucking believable voice.

  • you are correct. Shortino is absolutely dynamite on vox. World class rock vocalist and WAY underrated.

  • seen them with DIO in Tulsa OK. great show. what happend to them. Go SOONER FOOTBALL.

  • awesome band im glad i was turned onto them such a shame they didnt hit it bigger =(

  • yesss!! i must have listened to his "and we all wanna touch a rainbow" a million times! rough cutt records still hold a place of honour in my collection. this triggers so many memories...

  • Yes his vocals on the HearN aid project were sopme of the best, along with Geoff Tate's... Rough Cutt always got screwed, shame that bands like Ratt and Poison got bigger..

  • Ratt kicks ass they had talent.. fuck poison

  • Johnjuan79...thats teh same thing that happened to me. I heard the hear'n aid project and i heard this guy and i was like " HOLY CRAP!!" that guy can sing. I wish more rock had good vocalist like this guy

  • Paul Shortino Definitely an underrated Vocalist

To bad these guys didn't stay together

  • i was turned on to this band listening to the song we're stars from the hear n aid project.i went to the singers and seen his name and it mentioned he was from rough cutt.ausome vocals!

  • my favorite RC song, totally badass!!!

  • joeydahlia totally 3rd that

  • joeydahlia I 2nd that

  • This dude had the # 1 most underrated pipes in Metal!

This song is 1 of my faves all time

  • Hopefully, poeple will remember him from the Hear n Aid song. This is my favorite song from them. It's just so ORIGINAL. Know what I mean? Not a generic, paint by the numbers power ballad. Paul Shortino is awesome. The band was more talented than many but less commercial. Too bad.

  • Wow I remember watching all these. The show was called "Don Kirshner's Rock Concert" All the up and comming bands wre on. Ratt, Y&T, Dio and Steeler "Yngwie" so cool to see them again. Rough Cutt blew me way when i was this. Thanks for the upload.

  • It is NOT from "Don Kirshner Rock Concert" It was a show called "Rock Palace" on NBC.

  • @RocktheStageNYC - aside from it being "Rock Palace" Steeler with Yngwie never appeared - it was Alcatrazz.

Steeler with Yngwie only did one live show together.

  • @RocktheStageNYC Actually, Yngwie played 7 shows with Steeler. A friend of mine has all of them on tape.

  • @SabuPtolemy - Not according to Yngwie. He has said he only played one show with the band.

  • @RocktheStageNYC I have several L.A. friends that went to multiple Steeler with Yngwie shows. I know Yngwie has never had anything to good to say about his time in Steeler so of course he'd wouldn't want to remember the shows he did with them.

  • best rough cutt song, paul shortino is a vocal god=)

this should have been one of the nightmare on elm street films lol that would have been so awesome!!!!:D

  • "on" not "one" whoops

  • Hell yeah - this song was MADE for that movie!!!

  • yeah!!

  • Thats hilarious...I had no idea Chris was balding way back then. This is the first time I've seen anything with him before the rug. Last time I hung out with him at his apache studios he had the Vic Mackie look. Cool dude...and great player. Amir doesnt even look like Amir in this video.

  • This was Amir's 5th show with the band.

  • fuk yeah

  • This songs is killer. Great CD, too.!

  • God his voice is amaizing.

  • God his voice is amaizing.

  • first off, whyd you call urself a crack head? anyways, pop and disco, not even close, if you want pop go check out soft cell or somethin like that, ya goof.

  • Just messin around canadianBacon. I think these guys are good inside joke I used to work with them back in 80s before they were signed when Craig Gouldy was there guitarists

  • LOL oh ok, haha

  • Love this song love the band, love the singer(man he was cute as hell). Excuse my language. Rough Cutt rocks and rules. Shortino never stop singing you're amazing. I love his voice.

  • One of the Best Albums never Made.

    Rough Cutt

    1. Crank it up

    2. Street Gang Livin

    3. A little kindness

    4. try a Little harder

    5. Take her

    6. Dreaming Again

    7. Used and Abused

    8. Queen of Seduction

  • Yea, but at least we have the Rough Cutt cd, that is if people these days can find it.

  • I was a big fan of the demo but the album was a semi-bummer because 'Piece of My Heart' and 'Never Gonna Die' sucked the big wang! I couldn't believe they'd put such drivel on an album - only an A&R guy/radio whore could force a band into such utter stupidity while gems like 'Queen of Seduction' got left off.

  • Hi out there.

Have been looking for ages for these songs. Was this a officially released CD? If yes, were can I get it? Other wise, do you have any hint for me, where to get this stuff? At lkeast the demo songs?

Thanks a million in advance. Holk

  • Ebay bud they have new cds for 8 bucks good luck

  • lol .... Crack heads It's ROCK N ROLL & IF IT'S 2 LOUD YOUR 2 OLD! (QUOTE kISS)

  • you forget "Prowler" another great song.

  • Paul Shortino grandioso cantante uno de los mas infravalorados en mi opinión.

  • Love the Guitar Tone on the "New wave of Heavy Metal Hot Rodded Guitars" of the 80's theyre playing. Other than "Black Widow", "Street Gang Livin'" and "Cut your Heart out", I wish their music was more like this. This was an excellent show on NBC called The Rock Palace. Alcatrazz and Krokus made appearances on it too.

    -MAVIII(progulus. c o m)

  • ahh...the great vocals of 'duke fame'...lol

  • Great performance. I saw these guys opening for Dio on Sacred Heart tour back in 1986. I was instantly made a die hard fan that evening!

  • Great Band, Great Song, Excellent Performance!!!

This is when music was real!!!

  • This a band that should have been bigger than they were...love the sound!

  • Who's the balding guitarist with the red guitar?

  • Thats Chris Hager

  • @royalslack yeah, Chris Hagar, who went on to do...porn. ;)

  • This was thier best song. It sounds like a DIo song.

  • Nice, great song from a great band. Thanks for sharing.
