  • very good embouchure... amazing !!!

  • If only the whole world could go back in time. This music is so lovely and Glenn has such a great touch with music. Thx for the post.

  • Nice super Eb!

  • this music actually makes you wish you were around back then, it's quite special

  • Gnetlemen, i've had the opportunity to hear Mr. O'Brien recently with the GMO...and to meet Mr. Wolpe..giants both...may they continue on!

  • Larry is my Cousin when ever he comes into kentucky and he is near by we always go and see him. My god to believe he is in his 70's right now he doesnt look a day over 50, and he got married about 3 years ago for the first time in his life. But in all he is happy with his life and what his career has brought him. he retires in a few more years from what he said, he wants to keep going as long as he can. Love you Larry!

  • WOW he got married at that age! That is so great...guess he found someone to love along with his music.....

  • Dang, I would've never guessed 70, WOW, I hope to still be playing strong in 60+ years!

  • Laryy is an AMAZING player and a great guy too! I was with Buddy Morrow and The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra from 1988-2003. We NEVER played a Glenn Miller tune... Buddy also led the GMO for awhile in the mid 70's.

  • twilight zone made me look this song up and im glad i did i was soo born in the wrong era lol

  • Great Band.

  • i luf this vid

uMMm like O-M-G this is so stupid HAhahha yx

  • What a band!! Just magic!!

    Thanks for sharing.

  • my jazz director just passed this song out...it's sweet, but i'm afraid my face might fall off (i'm playing the lead bone part)

  • Prcatice, I also like his Autumn in New York. I played trombone and sucked for a year, then all of a sudden I got really good.

  • It is already trememndous playing by Mr O'Brien....then it changes key....WOW is all I can say!!

    Long may you continue.

  • amazing solo bro

  • So smooth

  • "I'm Getting Sentimental Over You" was Tommy Dorseys signature song, not Glenn Miller's!

  • This tune was specifically arranged for the Glenn Miller Orchestra by Dave Wolpe. Larry's idol/mentor Buddy Morrow plays one of the definitive versions of this tune and Larry plays it in homage to both of those fine players

  • I saw Larry O'Brian with the Glenn Miller Orchestra in Shreveort, LA about 6 years ago and they were outstanding.

  • incredible video! This will be a fav for the rest of my life!!

  • I caught Larry O'Brien & the Glenn Miller Orchestra last night, the preformance was wonderful! I plan on seeing them again when they pass through town!

  • what a band!

too bad this stuff isnt listened to toady on the radio....my stepfather was born in 1920 & lived through this era....wish i could have been there with him!

  • my band instructor tears up when the adv band plays this song

  • My great-uncle used to play this better than anyone.

    Trumbones an awsum instrument.

  • Larry is just buttah EVERY NIGHT!!!!! Worked with him for two great years and his effortless playing changed my life!

  • This is simply awesome, very very impressive! Beautiful sound Larry! Nice to see some footage of Glenn's original band too.

Please contact me if you are ever in the UK!

  • wonderful

  • its great

  • My favorite song of all time. My late Grandfather taught it to me, and taught me to appreciate all of the great music from this era.

    Thanks for the memories.

  • quietlylovely1, I saw the blog, and it is truly something beautiful. Your parents looked like really beautiful, passionate people, and my condolences. Take good care! All the best!

  • Memories rush back to my high school days over 45 years ago at R.H King HS in Scarborough Ontario Canada

where I did the DJ duties at our Friday night dances.

I remember this tune so well as it was often requested

at the end of the evening as a last dance along with anything by Ray Coniff's orchestra. Romance was in the air after these records. Thanks for the memory maestros.

  • This is the song my parents danced to to Glenn miller at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago when they were young. this was their song and danced to it at every wedding and ball. They were in love till the day they died. Check out their pics at my 360 yahoo Grandma Coffee's blog.Thank you for posting this. It made me cry as I listened and remembered their love of this song and each other.Thank you

  • Nice Version of Tommy Dorsey's theme! Larry's a great player and a nice man! Always a great band too! I'm partial toward Buddy Morrow in his prime...

  • damn, some chops!

  • Saw the Glenn Miller Orchestra being led by Ray McKinley in Melbourne Australia in 1985. They were great.

  • Wow, what a fine rendion! Not that I'm anyone, but I'm still going to say that I'M impressed.
