i agree that the blockade is bad on Iran, N.Korea n other nation that is blocked from the rest of the world, and plus to that, the palestinian is not just being blockade, they are being bombed and killed everyday. no nation in the world is taking what they have to endure.

Also...more on number 1...Israel would not have to braek a cease fire if Hamas did not arm themselves. If the Palestinians in Gaza would start acting like the Palestinians in the West Bank, life would be a lot different. You dont see any bombs falling on the West Bank. I would like to mention that I am deeply concerned with the well being of the Palestinians. But the suffering in Gaza is a direct result of the decisions taken by Hamas.

4) The Arabs are not interested in continuous borders. If that were the case, they would have accepted the 1948 partition plan.

5) Israel did respond by asking the arabs to come and discuss the plan, but the rejected to meet with the Israelis. Of the 2002 plan, Prime Minister Olmert said it is a ""new way of thinking, the willingness to recognize Israel as an established fact and to debate the conditions of the future solution, is a step that I can't help but appreciate."

1) Hamas continuously breaks the cease fire by calling for their destruction and arming themselves

2) Hamas only has bottle rockets because the blockade is working. The goal is to keep sophisticated weaponry out of their hands

3) Hamas has never been ready for steady borders. Their charter calls for the destruction of the Jewish state. I will pay you $100 of you can show me where Hamas said they will recognize a Jewish state.

1. So if Hamas says that they will not rest until all the occupied land is returned to their rightful owner is signal for Israel to go and bomb Gaza. And then Israel can go ahead and blame that on Hamas. Nice. And you are deeply concerned with the well being of the Palestinians. Doubly nice.

Israel crossed a WORDWIDE blockade on APARTHEID South Africa to give it WEAPONS/TORTURE Equipment but complains when the WORLD wants to give FOOD/MEDICAL aid to impoverished Gazans?

Israel caused murder, destruction of property, kidnapping and destruction and with-holding of evidence.

And Israel is saying it was an act of self-defense?

@saadasim Yes, you are missing something. Israel IS only acting in self defense. Hamas uses murder, destruction of property, kidnapping and censorship as a method to carry out their goal to destroy Israel (it is in their charter). Hamas also uses human shields and that is how innocent people die. Israel has nothing against arabs. Thats why bombs are only dropping on Gaza and not the West Bank. In Israel there is an Arab supreme court member, general in the army, Kenneset members, etc.

@saadasim We can throw links back and forth..and I can tell you to read the Case for Israel. But we should stick to actually debating. The fact remains that Hamas calls for Israel's destruction in their charter and they rejected a peace deal in 2000. So Israel has to act pre-emptively to prevent their destruction. They broke the cease fire before operation cast lead when they targeted Hamas terrorist plotting an attack on Israel. What would you do in israel's position? Please answer that

2. Israel is armed to the teeth while Hamas basically has bottle rockets.

3. Hamas has been ready for steady borders while Israel has ignored that.

4. There was no peace deal in 2000. The right of Palestinians to travel between territories was never offered nor the definition of Israel's borders.

5. The Arab Peace plan of 2002 offered full recognition with firm borders for all but Israel neither accepted nor offered an alternate peace deal.

The Israelis kept the Palestinians on the "brink of collapse without causing a humanitarian disaster". Their goal isnt to cause a humanitarian disaster. Their intention is not starve or destroy Gaza..its to make their lives uncomfortable until they alter their actions. You say "there must be another way" to do this...but you never provide any examples of how they should prevent rockets from falling on israel....its easy to point a finger without offering alternatives

Don't blame the way economics are in countries like Iran or North Korea on US or EU. The common people in those countries will have a nightmare even without blockades. And you know blockades are a non-violent way of war. You say there's got to be another way. Yea how 'bout accepting Israel existence for starters! Is it too hard???
