I've gotten good pick up on mine but it depends on the type & condition it's in.

Example, they're famous for technical malfuncioning. My turbo shift doesnt even work anymore, at least not at high rev's & though it top's 160mph, it'd be a while before it gets there.

@bluedavenger well, it depends on what saab you own, here in norway there is a lot of fast saab's we got a saab 95 vector 2001mod chiped to 230hp, it goes 0-100kmh in 6 sec (0-60mph) and it's 1sec faster then my friends mercedes CLS 350 2006 mod so you cant say that saab aint a good car. and that mercedes costs 1.200.000NOK, and the saab where bought for 100,000 NOK.

in fact you can find info on Saabs performing well on tracks in GB, just search Abbott Racing. You'll find out that they've been successful outside Finland and Sweden too. Saab's are commonly tuned in Scandinavia, a 230bhp car isn't nothing compared to +600bhp beasts, which are still road legal.

Not saying it would make any sense tho, but does everything have to make sense? a stock Saab, yes a Neon SRT4 beats it in a drag race, but from 2nd gear on Saab's are pretty impressive.

LOL! dumbass the awd turboX is 0-60 in 5.4 seconds. the top rated g37 is a full second slower... and its only rwd. saab is way better performance wise then the g37.and the saab has 295 torque, while the g37 has 270 torque....

The G is a really good LUXURY car, ya its got better interior smoother ride, and pretty quik. but the saab is a SPORTS car, has normal crappy quality interior like all sports cars, you feel the road more, like all sports cars want you too. Its awd turbo, making the handling on the track better than rwd and to add power...well up the boost. the stats prove the saab is faster. if you want luxury its def not the way to go.

I own one of these cars, 1 of 200 in canada, and I love it. just wish the trunk wasnt so flat, the view on an angle from the front isnt as nice as it could be. It's also a weapon in the snow. And the 3rd gear would be the quickest for this car.

Saabs are capable of competing with porsches if you know how to use them.

For one you dont drag race them, you'll lose.

What you do is put it into secont gear at 25 mph......

and then you floor it untill you get till about 55000 rpm, then you sift to third.

this will be about 2.5 seconts and you'll be at 75-85 mph. So once agin, a saab is a drivers car, not a car you buy in automatic.......... lol

thank you i test drove my car in the automatic version and i said no but then i drove the manual and it completely changed my mind. i now have a 9-3 vector i push that thing all the time and what it loses in 0-60 it make up for in handling which is what saabs are all about.

This is truely a fantastic car. Saabs hold a great combination of qualities: safety, turbocharged performance, style, and sophisication. I may seriously consider a 9-3 Aero as my next new car.
