  • Greatest of all the hits of my childhood

  • Oh. So... the only songs Bud sang were from the Donnie Budd series or am I wrong?

  • Did he say "cigar?" That's evil! Censor!

  • @smurfblood He broke out in spots. It's enough of a anti-cigar message that they wouldn't.

  • Wait. Bud Lucky annimated & sang all the Sesame number vids he made? Didn't know he sang 'em. Should've known. The singer in this sounds like him a bit.

  • @ZNKChannel Bud Luckey didn't sing sing this. It was someone by the name of Turk Murphy.

  • I had this song stuck in my head and googled "alligator king"....oh the sweet memories!

  • my sis use to dance to this when she was a baby...now that I am pregnant I am going to sing and play this for my little boy!

  • omg! surprised myself that i can still sing the lyrics completely!

  • Do you have the copy from 2006? I want you to post the final time this ever aired for the geeks.

  • thats a blast from the past...takes me back when i was....well ...7

  • Bud Lucky is so awesome! He's one of those animation guys who's work I've seen all my life. When I was a kid, I was seeing his animation, such as this one, on Sesame Street. As an adult, I'm watching Pixar movies. By the way, I recently picked up the book The Art of Cars, and I got excited because it's got a lot of really beautiful conceptual artwork by Bud Luckey. Great stuff.

  • if you look very closely the king has 7 fingers but at 1:12 he has 8 toes. how do u get 7 fingers but 8 toes?

  • Look again...he's got 8 fingers.

  • Oh My God, never in my life did I think Id hear and see the MV again. That was so long ago and far away. Brought tears to my eyes.

  • omg me and my 20 year old brothers are accually singing this word for word lol i love this

  • ah i actually remembered this ep. i miss the days where i had no responsibilities but watching tv.

  • i agree with you i remember when everything was done for me my laundry food cooked for me and stuff like that those were the days.:)

  • o/' said the alligator king to his seven sons.. o/' god, that's a memory.

  • I love this skit, it brings back so many memories for me. I also love this song, and I know if off by heart (in Icelandic, albeit). Plus it's totally in my key.

  • Reptilian symbolism and the sacred number 7. Buuahahaahhaah there gona get you!!!!

  • thanks for this

  • The original version on the Turk Murphy "Wild Man Blues" CD has a different last line, where he says "I got it on sale at Monkey Ward's" (Montgomery Ward's, a defunct department store). I synced this version up to the animation, and the mouth movements still say "Monkey Ward's."

  • this has always reminded me of a randy newman song

  • At last a copy where both the words and sences match.

  • The little alligator sounds like Linus.

  • Thanks for this. Always loved this, it has everything in it.

  • haha i showed this video to my mom a while back - and she said "i'd rather have the rubies or diamond rings" hahaha

  • Imagine teaching kids how to count and at the same time imparting to them a very important value in life.

  • i just watched the hebrew one Melech crocidil :)

  • A classic from my youth.

  • I'd forgotten about this one. The singing is the San Francisco Jazz great Turk Murphy whose band did the backup. Bud Luckey is the voice of the King himself. Don Hadley co-wrote the lyrics. A fun piece.

  • That's better

  • Thanks.:)

  • In the hebrew version the lil croc saya "i love u" to his dad
