Good riddance. One of the least knowledgeable media types around. Always got the feeling he didn't have a clue as to what he was talking about, no matter what sport he was ranting and raving about. Spent most of the time just reciting numbers , which he was usually reading from stat sheets. The guy can be replaced with a chimp.
You get the clue and keep drinking up that Kool Aid about how much they liked each other. The only reason Francessa might miss him is because without Russo, Francessa is unlistenable. Ever watch the show on the Yes network? Ever see Francessa reading the paper while Russo is talking? Notice that they don't even face each other in the studio? They can't stand each other. Francessa was giddy over this news.
I never said they liked each other. When did I say that? Yes, I have watched them on YES. I know they don't like each other. That said, Francesa was not holding back laughter in this clip.
These guys have been hard to listen to for 19 years. I don't understand their appeal... and I am a sports fan. They shout callers down who disagree with them. They are lousy radio hosts. Their dislike for each other was the only thing interesting about their show.
So you are telling me that people in NYC listened to Mike and the Mad Dog because it sucked? Because that's basically what you're saying. Why else would people listen if it wasn't good radio? You are an imbecile.
This is the end af a great NYC Era!!!!!! This was a great show!!!! I grew up on this stuff.(also I grew up on Joe Benigno) WFAN is a great station!!!!!!!! So long Mike and Mad Dog!!!!!
I will miss this,, I am mad cause once the yanks were out i wanted to see dog go nuts. It is the end of an era. I hope i can listen to dog on the radio or wherever soon

I respectfully disagree. You could not be more wrong.

Anyone notice how Francessa is trying hard not to laugh when Russo is crying like a sissy? Francessa is happy to see him go, don't kid yourself.

He was not trying to hold back laughter. Get a clue.

Lousy? The 19 consecutive years of #1 ratings would disagree with that statement.

Just because something is popular doesn't mean it's good. Crack is a perfect example.

Sounds like Dog is going thorough a mid-life crisis and wanted to try and accomplish something else. Hopefully, he'll get over it in the near future.

Yeah it is terrible. What an institution. They say that most things don't last forever...and I say "why not?" This stings badly.

As long as you have Sirius radio you will have no problems listening to Dog.

I would love to hear the part where Dog's father Tony calls in.
That was also very emotional.
Thanks for posting this.
