  • update: fastest buick ran 6.75 in the 1/4mile -------> /watch?v=NvXE-iEHvyo

    original 3800 ohv engine

    take that, ricers!

  • oh, and look up john rains turbo buick.

    284 mph standing mile --->/watch?v=w-skip58FSk

and len freeman buick running 6.96 -------> /watch?v=8K15ANt28Gk

    GNX ALWAYS BEATS OVERPRICED RICEBURNER.

looks like you slant-eyed supra queers better get back on the plane, its a long way back

    to japan.

  • that gn is the real deal. that ugly piece of shit toyota ricebox is a wannabe

  • Supra owned by a real car like supras but gnx is better supras are over rated but u race real muscle this is what happens

  • you people here talking shit about Japanese cars make it really difficult to argue against claims about average American literacy and intelligence. I don't think anyone in their right mind who is a true auto-enthusiast (regardless of domestic or import) should even give a quarter of a shit of their time to argue against stupid fucking Americans.

  • @xBaitMyScenex I'm an enthusiast of Turbo Regals. I can appreciate when someone put their blood, sweat and sweat into getting the most out of their car. I'm American. However, I'm not here to argue with people, I just enjoy watching the races. I'll admit, it is hard at times to ignore when people say shit that simply isn't true. I have read countless times in videos involving Supras, where people make the claim the world's most power car. You want to say something, but why..

  • I own a 1987 Buick GN but i must give credit where it is due, the supra's are some bad ass rides on there own. I have a couple of friends with some and seen what they are made of, and no a supra is not a ricer but i wont trade my gn for anything.

  • AND IF IT WAS A RACE OF RECISTANCE IM SURE THAT THE SUPRA WILL BREACK AFTER ABOUT 10 RUNS AND THE BUICK WILL STILL BE ASKING FOR MORE AND THAS THE WEACK POINT OF THE JAP CRAP CARS COZ JAPANESE ARE CHEAP TO BUILD THEIR THINGS LOL COZ JAP QUALITY SUCKS IN ALL THE SENSE OF THE WORLD LOOCK AT THEM SHITY LEXUS THAT KEEP LOSING ENGINE OIL AND LOTS OF COSTUMERS COMPLAINS LOL AND THHIS CARS ARE SO STUPIDLY EXPENCIVE

  • Only a really stupid redneck would call the Supra "rice" or "jap crap" and confuse it with Civic.

    Please have respect.

It is pretty much the Japanese version of the Grand National

Hell, when the Supra came out in 1993 it beat out any Corvette that wasn't a ZR-1.

If you are calling a Supra "jap crap" or "rice", you may need a mental exam.

  • sexy cars but isnt that a T-type? all grand nationals were black...excapt in 1982

  • @84MonteSuperSport *except

  • The new 3.6l Camaro motor is begging for F.I. Imports are bad for America. They turn our kids gay and bleed out our economy.

  • This Supra is probably faster than most domestics that try to race it seeing how it barely lost to a 9 sec GN.

  • @skyhigh90210 BTW, the fastest stock block Turbo Regal is in the high 8’s. It has an engine girdle and all forged internals I’m sure. BTW, some person tried to tell me that an average Joe built a 7 sec Supra in his garage and it won the Texas Mile. I watched a Twin Turbo Trans AM, with the stage 2 Buick v6 run 284mph in some contest. Not sure if it was a mile or not. I think it was the Silver State Classic.

  • @skyhigh90210 Can you imagine if they would have kept on developing that engine where they would be today? These Supra’s with stock blocks running this incredible times, but they pay a premium for that engine, I can’t stay it enough. I went and looked at a stage 2 Buick v6 and it was built up with some stuff on, not a lot and the guy wanted $17k for it. Whether it is a Supra or a 9 second Turbo Regal, you pay the price either up front or as an aftermarket price to safely generate that power.

  • @skyhigh90210 Now if that stage 2 motor would have been offered as an option on turbo regals, they would have the ability to handle 2500hp. The fastest Buick V6 stage 2 engine is running close to that right now. It is a complete dragstrip car and it has run 6.79 at 208. Let’s not forget, we are talking early 80’s technology. Production was stopped on the stage motors from Buick Motor Sports in 1985, development I think in 1982.

  • @skyhigh90210 Supra owners with a 2jz or whatever they engine pay a premium for that engine. Good for Supra owners, it can be built into an awesome car. What I don't like is when people think the Supra is just this unbeatable car. People tend to forget that the 3.8L stage 2 motor built by Buick Motor Sports in the early 80’s. This engine with the stage 2 heads could make somewhere between 500 and 800 HP, naturally aspirated, I have heard both these numbers and some in between.

  • @skyhigh90210 yes it is very fast. But it lost to car with a little larger displacement engine, with the same number of cylinders. Yes it can beat a lot of cars, because it has a stock block that can handle a 1000+ hp maybe. Now, that engine isn't cheap I'm sure. Supra owners with a 2jz or whatever they engine pay a premium for that engine.

  • @skyhigh90210 yes, if you put enough money into it. Boost logic offers a 1250 hp package. shit if I had that kind of money, could buy a gn and put a stage 2 in it and run high 7s. and have enough to buy another decent gn.

  • Anyone who insults either one of these cars is a moron.. The Buck Grand National and Toyota Supra are like long lost distant cousins: small displacement big turbo BEASTS capable of sub 11 second ET's with just a few grand in bolt-ons. MUCH respect to both.

  • @sk8777kid1 A V-8 in a Grand National would be a shame!!! What fool would butcher up such a classic car! Plus that 3.8 liter turbo V-6 will smoke many a V-8 on any day! Trust me, I have 2!

  • what retard would even think that a jap shit cart belongs on usa race tracks let alone try to beat american muscle take your jap shit box to the juck yard so we can make parts for my tv

  • @mattyk71 you do realize the supra is one of the fastest cars in a quarter mile right? and nissan makes some the best handling cars on the market. granted, certain american cars are fast, such as the grand national, z06 vette, and viper. can you really say the supra, gt-r, rx7, sivlia, 350z, 370z, (all of which can run 10's in a 1/4 with a couple grand in mods) are shit cars? no, you cant. well you can, but you'll just sound like a dumbass.

  • @xXSinisterDeviceXx "A couple grand in mods"??? Are you listening to yourself? Unless you meant to write 10's in the 1/8th. In which case, yeah, you're right.

Cheap speed is the V8's domain. I've built a mid 12 second Mustang 5.0 for $5300. Including the car. You'll rarely if ever see any of the cars you named, Supra and GT-R excepted, breaking into 12's with less than 5 grand of work done, not including the car.

  • @aTuWitty i consider a couple grand up to 5. so im still not wrong. and i was just making a point. i hate drag racing, it's the worst test of a car.

  • @mattyk71 the ones that win sooo are you calling caroll shelby a retard? because he did use the toyota 2000gt in his SCCA races and owns one as well you now that right?

your such a fucking rice boy and you give car enthusiests a bad name especailly wnen you call a fast car the supra a shit.

  • @mattyk71

    LMAO

You're absolutely right... That GN is awesome...That Jap box is a POS..I hate seeing fucking idiots driving around their shitboxes and thinking they are something special...How wrong they are...

  • @mattyk71 what the fuck is a juck yard?

  • i bet that gn had stock suspension with a built motor and tranny they went all out on that supra and it still got spanked

  • Muscle beats import I like it, like to see a v8 in the GN that would be awesome!

  • No replacement for displacement.

  • N this is y I've always wanted a GN one of the best......alrite, First of all a supras ain't ricers n second that was close to be talkin shit bout the supra.

  • ricer owned... any questions?

  • That was either one slow ass supra or one weak ass driver....

  • @insatiableTy Riiiiiiiight...

  • typical ricer trash talk. you watch a supra lose ONE race and assume there all slow. pull your heads out of your ass's and realize a real driver will drive anything regardless of make and only ricers argue over how they hate import or mustangs or vw's or whatever its so elementary

  • @bdysntchr7 well said; my dad has a grand national with a motor built by ken deutweiller and one of his best friends has a supra built by sound performance. both are beasts, both make big power and at the end of the day they are both having tons of fun. guys just don't understand, we do what we do for the fun of it; when you have pricks getting into arguments of imports vs. domestics, you're no longer having fun; build your cars and enjoy them for what they are

  • @jonevans20 This shit only happens over the internet, at the track is a whole nother story. If these people even have a car they're talking the same ol shit they talk on youtube...

  • @krocialblack : that's true lol. unfortunately these folks just don't understand what they're missing out on.

  • Thumbs up if the announcer doubles as the DJ at a local strip club.

  • Great announcer!

  • a GNX will pawn that Supra worse. thats a GN

  • @50908 not really since the gnx r all stashed away in stock form(while their stock keeps rising) by the smart 1z

  • @xHATEMANjrx

Nope, not everybody i had GNX # 004 with 62,400s miles, it was a car i pulled out on the weekends, and for racing once in a while. Just sold this car in this early 2010. Sadly had to let it go since 1997.... Wow 13 years with it , im proud that i was an owner of one, but had to let it go, they offered me a good price for it . And they are faster than Supras, Stock factory, or Modd VS modd, or Fully modded VS fully modded. GNX comes on top.

  • AAWW the illustrious supra lost , all the smack against the grandpa buicks? never any respect? please join FATHERS. AGAINST. GAY. SUPRAS.

  • Oh yes! The Great GN wins again. despite beying a muscle car fan I have to admit that i love The Grand National.

  • another pass for the gn baby

  • No surprise there, GN wins again !

  • respect both cars, they are from 2 different eras!

I have 84 t type and a 94 supra amazing cars, it all just depends what you do to them!

  • its pretty hard to beat a GN

  • The supra lost, but it was right there. Buick was nice, However the Supra has a full interior all the power works, to include AC and the power steering, he drove to the track, grabbed his slicks from his back seat and put them on the car,and did a 9 sec pass. than he put his street tires back on. and drove home and played a Kenny G greatest hits CD.

I would like to see them race a standing mile.. And i believe the Buick would get stomped

  • @sixfootnine300 How do you know the GN didn't do the same? lol.

  • @sixfootnine300 i love supras but you underestimate the GN

  • @sixfootnine300 What makes you think a GN can't do the same? Plenty of GNs run 10s and 11s with full interior with relatively minor work. You're also comparing the Supra to a car that's almost 25 years old and it's STILL stomping ass. This wasn't a comparison of who's A/C is colder, both of these cars are just toys for the track. And if you think any 9 second car is much good on the street, you're kidding yourself. This coming from someone WITH a 2JZGTE/6 speed swap in a Lexus SC300.

  • @sixfootnine300 are you a stalker?

  • thanks!! its amazing how fast those six cylinder cars are? im a v8 and know the supras have well built and designed blocks!! and can handle up to 1000 hp with stock blocks!! that is a nice resurance when racing those power levels !I But on the buick side there amazing as well and have made incredible racing records its nice to see a family designed 3.8 run and dominate!! there true sleepers

  • @deannaber The grand national and GNX is anything but a sleeper, everyone knows it's an incredible car and that it would dominate lots of cars in the drag strips.

  • @BlooDBank101 You and i know that but i was enlightening another person nicely! about how fast the buicks are and have been hence the racing records i mentioned!!! some of the import crue dont know or talk shit till the end i was just being civil!! tired of people talking bad about american steel!!!

  • y yall trippin, Japan does with 4 and 6 cylinder's and 3 liters of displacement and LESS what Amuscle can only get with V8's and 5+ liters

  • @GhostNAshell354

Those motors also require more "artificial" displacement too. EX: More boost, larger turbos, etc etc. So no, it's not really impressive. The fastest import run like a 6.5x, there are real cars doing that N/A. Not to mention the faster ones in the 5's and 4's.

  • @GhostNAshell354 The only way those 4 and 6's come close to V8 power is with turbos. V8 + Turbos = you wish your 6 banger could hang.

  • @GhostNAshell354 GN's engine is a Turbo 3.8l V6 by the way, not a V8

  • @GhostNAshell354

And, it still lost. Guess he should have had a bigger motor. That car isn't a 5L either by the way.

  • I know the owner of that buick pretty well its a t-type, its gone 8.5 this video is from a few years ago, right before he bought this he had a GN with close to 100k into it and it burned to the ground in the middle of a street race on I-70 baltimore due to a leaking gas line and c16. This dude knows what hes doing.

  • AH!! A Buick v6 taking out a supra 6 very nice! hopefully with education like this it will steer our american youth away from the "gay porn" mentality, that supras are so much faster and cooler than american steal!

Lets keep our young men from selling out. and turning gay! join FATHERS AGAINST GAY SUPRAS F.A.G.S.!!!

  • @deannaber did you just call yourself a fag? im not join any fags

  • @madeincda No im not a fag!! Just joking !! fathers. against. gay. supras. u have to admit it thats funny!!come on tell the truth you almost joined lol...

  • @deannaber - I don't usually indulge, but that is funny. I'm a fan of both cars. Interestingly I have an article from Car and Driver from 81 Buick Regal Sports Couple Vs Toyota Celica Supra. I was a bit surprised at what I read. Basically powetrain belonged to the Supra and ride, handling and comfort to the Buick. This of course was Buick's carburetor'd Turbo Engine. If you are interested in the article sent me a message with your email and I will sent it to you.

  • @sinusbradycardia depends on the year but at the drags and the street buicks have instilled fear across the land !!!! and put many a supra in the hole. while enjoying a comfortable ride. full frame car

  • @deannaber I know, I have an 86 Grand National. The engine is pulled right now and a few other things, slowly getting it back together. I put my wife and 3 kids in my ride and go cruising. My kids love it when I jump on the throttle a little. If it is a longer cruise, my car is so comfortable it puts my wife and two youngest kids to sleep.

  • @deannaber

y yall trippin, Japan does with 4 and 6 cylinder's and 3 liters of displacement and LESS what Amuscle can only get with V8's and 5+ liters

  • @GhostNAshell354 lol thanks for the insite i know they are impressive!!! but thats not true!! there are plenty of world records set with american 4's and 6's the svo the iron duke the quad four buick & chevy v6's etc turbos make anything fast!!!!

  • 9.64 sec.... ouch....

  • America didn't even have to bring out 8 cylinders on this one. Still wanna cry about displacement ricers?

  • @xZZxTakedown lol they will always be insecure and whine!! more nos dude lol until they get back on mommy's teat!!

  • @xZZxTakedown both these cars are set for drag racing, it doessnt matter about domestic vs import in this one. its about who has put the most money into there car.

  • @ScarButta

Yeah lol, I kinda left that whole argument thing behind man. This was an old comment btw

  • @xZZxTakedown im not trying to start an arguement. just a heads up

  • @ScarButta

Yeah man, I gotcha. I'm just saying that I'm not really a brand basher anymore (except I'm not too big on euro cars but that's a different story). Cars are cars.

  • @xZZxTakedown right, its just that i hate it when people think all imports are ricers, so yea

  • @xZZxTakedown GREAT

  • my bad lol..."shiteling"it was supposed to say whisteling.

  • i dunno bout you guys.but i heard a shiteling from that supra, these just demonstartes the power of the buick grand national.a supercharged supra, vs a stock grand national.BTW grandnational's were actually meant to be collectors cars, they have a v6 engine, with a built in roll cage.they have about 300 punds of foot torque when stock.they may be ugly, but there power will make you think otherwise!

  • all rightl0l l0l l0l ricers know a guy lol right MEIRACE

  • yea risers always know a guy all right ja ja ja ja ja jajajajajajajajajajajajajaj fuck risers they always llbe a step behind DOMESTICS GM ALL THE WAY BABY jajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajaj,

  • what supra?

  • God people stop arguing the Real woncome on th da strip is it' playground. Let' think about all of te things in the regal's favor. bigger engine for spooling bigger turbo, check. Only availible in auto, great for drag racing, check And finally Live rear axle which gives it the advantange out of the hole it' better fo going straight. No offesnse but unless you do a tranny swap in the regal, get a crazy custom suspention and brakes, on a road course or in a twisty section of road the tide turns...

  • @MKIIIBoy You are telling people to stop arguing and you are here saying that the regal can't do circuit racing only drag.....truly the irony here is amusingly funny LOL

  • If you rea my comnt thouroughly I didn't say it couldn't circuit I said that it would require some converions and parts to compeitive. A live rear axle and Auto tranny are not thbest things to have on a circuit track. So a supra with it's indepent rear suspention and maunal tranny(option) has an avantage. My comment never said it was impossible to mak a regal circuit race just that it's layout witout major conversions and fab work it is best suited for a drag strip.

  • american or nothing!!!

  • I hate imports. American muscle all the freggin way baby

  • @99ACE97 you cant deny that supras are fast cars thou

  • @99ACE97-fuck americans cars japanese are better

  • @DRIFTcvdf

Another blind import fanboy. Why can't we all just get along? A fast car is a fast car no matter what company it is from.

  • @CyberGTX09

    I agree

  • @DRIFTcvdf

admit Better in Quality not racing, fool.

  • @DRIFTcvdf That why this Supra lost to a GN? Wouldve made the Supra look even WORSE if it was a GNX.

  • @DeadSleepers Did you notice the time for the Grand National? It was 9.64, you do not need a GNX

  • @MrStlover99 I know that. I was just telling the fanboy that a GNX would REALLY embarrass the Supra.

  • @99ACE97 Are you kidding? Imports are awesome! They look good too.

  • @99ACE97 I'd sorta agree with you except I don't think a turbocharged V6 exactly personifies American Muscle.

  • @99ACE97 so you hate fast cars REGARDLESS?

  • wasn't even a gn it was a regal,

  • finally I see a real race and the real results that are suppose to happen the supra got whipped. Simple 11 years older with older technology and it smoke the fast and furious fake just like the GTR fake fake fake. Keep playing your video games the dark knight is the real king of turbos.

  • If you are going to talk shit like that. Stock for stock the GT-R and the Supra are faster than the Grand National.

  • Wake up buddy the National is 22 years older with a iron block and 2 valves per cylinder wedge (like you know what wedge means) and with a little work spanks the gtr?

imagine if they kept building this car? Wake up video games lie just as much as nissan lied about the stats of the gtr.

  • @lockudown You are a fucking idiot. Have you even driven or raced a GT-R? Unlike you my buddy actually owns one and he did 11.7 @119 stock without launch control (he has a 2010) and when he got his tune, exhaust, and intake did 10.95 @130. Nissan didn't lie about shit on the car. You act like GM never lied about their cars.

Bottom line GT-R > GN. I like the GN but you can't deny facts.

  • @kageryu311 HAHAHA your friend don't have a skyline gtr.You have probably never even seen one besides on youtube you faggot. You talk shit but then you compare a 2010 to a 87?LOL try comparing a 1989 supra or gtr to a 87 gnx(the top of all three cars),those two lose to the buick. The gtr had an extra 2 years and awd but still loses to the buick,SO STFU!

  • Are you serious? we have these cars at some of the high dollar car meets and shit. I'm in the army and people have nice cars that they spend their deployment money on. He doesn't have a skyline GT-R but he has a GT-R R35. There is a guy at the car meets who has a R33 GT-R but its on a bogus title that says its a 240sx. I will give you that the 87 GNX beats out the 89 supra and 90 skyline but not many people race the supras or skylines from those years.

  • Notice how ricers always "know a guy"?

  • @TiKondaRoga Yeah I know,it's like just because you seen a video on here or streetfire doesn't mean you know them.I only know one kid with a 450 whp del sol that will admit what he would lose to.Then again he isn't really a ricer(he is all go no show),he just loves honduhs so he is an idiot.

  • @lockudown Well said my freind especially right about our old technology, proving time and again to the fast and furious kids what real steal is all about!!

  • Grand National FTW!

  • the fastest 6 cyl engine build is the hemi 2 barrel it cranks good 359 horses bone stack w/o a turbo...

  • holy crap wut vehicle carries that monster, and GO GNX

  • ALL 3.8's w/ a power adder are the beez neez

  • uh , excuse me but who won?

  • gnx

  • That's honestly why I love GN's they did things differently. I'm just not fond of the meatheads who think "rice burners" are nothing compared to the big V8's. Do you consider a Buick GN a Muscle Car considering it's a turbo V6? I just don't agree with this video saying "Domestic vs. Import" I envision a domestic as a figure for a muscle car that has a 350ci+ or a V8 for that matter. I don't agree with a Buick GN representing the name "muscle car"

  • But technically it is domestic vs import. There are meatheads on both sides and see all the time posts like can't fuck with a supra. Here the supra gets beat, must have been the driver or go type in GNX supra and see wats up. So there are ignorant fucks on both sides. I content a well built car is a well built car and if someone can't give respect then their just full of hate.Bottom line if you got the loot you can have a fast ass car and keep it streetable too.I don't care about the labels.

  • @WushuWeapon89

i agree totally about the import vs domestic thing. but i totally disagree with the "it aint muscle without a v8" the turbo buicks were fast rwd factory cars and wicked fast with bolt ons.

its earned being called a musclecar.

get a factory "muscle car" from the GN era and put against the GN...bet the GN shows more muscle.

  • @3400sfi No doubt turbo rwd buick v6,are muscle!! "amazing cars" esp when a punk still suckling on mommy"s "teat" gives there degrading opinion of american steal !!

  • I like at 0:27 (the regal) "with turbos on them" this cancels the entire debate, the domestic is using turbos, which isn't a domestic thing to do...

  • Not sure what you mean by "isn't the domestic thing to do", Buick has been turbo charging v6's since the late 70s. They really pioneered the technology and in 86 and 87MY turbo regals they really got them dialed in. Buick was way ahead of the game and I no people can't stand to hear that.

  • the regal t type/grand national is like the only respectable domestic that came stock with a 6 cylinder turbo....it can be easily modified, much like the supra........if you hear a grand national/t type with a v8 then the owner is an idiot......thats like replacing the 2jzgte with something with less potential

  • the first factory turbocharged car was the oldsmobile f-85 jetfire in 1962

  • Maryland all day!

  • dude l love it that is bad gn for life

  • That's not a grand national, it's a regal, that's grey, not black. The announcer got it right.

  • those two cars are the shit!!! i love themmm

  • my 2 dream cars

  • Wow the world's most powerful car lost. Must have been the driver.

Nice competitive pretty evenly matched race.

I wonder what mods have been done to these vehicles? As the owner of an 86 gn, I know my car is a long way from being in the 9's. At best my car is probably a high 11s car and the amount of mods and work to get it into the 9s is ridiculos. My point is, anyone that thinks that these cars came from the factory with close to the performance shown here, think again.

  • @sinusbradycardia Thats cool the family likes the car too !! as you know buicks have been experimenting with serious performance for years! when i was a boy my father owned plenty of old buicks pontiacs chevys !! its amazing how the 3.8 can and does dominate GM knows what there doing its a shame people down talk these great cars and power plants.

  • what now julio ahahhhahahahha

  • Supras are fast and can back up their talk but when they face a Grand National, look out Supras.

  • Well these cars, too me, are different in what makes them special. The GN with its LC2 makes massive low end torque and this is what glues you to your seat when you launch the car, but suffers on the top end. Now is a rolling race the supra seems to be superior to the GN or in something longer than a 1/4 mile. Supra's inline 6 can crank out the HP where as the GN can crank out the torque. Of course both can be moded and change this. Thanks to WhatAfluke for pointing this out to me.

  • yeah i think that the supra holds the fastest standing mile for a 6 cylinder, but i still think that the turbo buick holds the quickest 1/4 for a 6 cylinder

  • The Supra itself isn't the fastest 6 cylinder but its powerplant is. There is a Celica with a 2JZ swap in the low 6s.

  • Thats using an incredibly light fibreglass celica body though....if they put the lc2 engine thats currently in the galina-freeman car (6.96) or even the engine thats in tony gomes FULL WEIGHT gn (minimum 3400lbs, runs a 7.97) into a body as light as the fibreglass celica then that thing will be equally as impressive if not even more impressive.......remember that that celica body is ALOT more aerodynamic as well when compared to the old g-body so that also plays a major role

  • SW's Supra is FULL WEIGHT and runs a 7.91. I thought that the GN hit the 6s on the stock body.

  • lol k i also totally forgot about bill andersons gn thats also full weight that runs a 7.25....the reason why i found tony gomes gn special is because hes also using stock suspension

  • nope sry i lied bill andersons buick is 2500lbs....lol read it as 3500

  • That is a bad car.

  • Avon you have one of the sickest Buick's i've ever seen!!

  • Long before the Supra was upon us, the Buick Grand National was released with a huge V-6 and turbo, blowing away everything in its path. Only offered in black, the Buick "bricks" were unstoppable, and many Corvette owners were not happy about it, in the 80's.

Before you hail the Supra is one of the most classic fast cars of all times, rmember where they got their 6 cyl - turbo idea from...they saw it in the 80's with the grand national.

  • Oooohh the Regal!!!

  • GNX PWNS

  • had to have been a stage 2 engine in the buick...144mph is movin...

  • no need for an engine swap. the original v-6 in it is tough and can take some serious boost

  • add a stud girdle and some better H-beam rods and HELL yeah it can take a LOT of boost. i've heard, NOT SEEN, claims of 33 pounds of boost on a slightly modded stock block. and OVER 770 RWHP...

  • GN: 1

    all other cars: 0

  • 1) In 1987 it was still called the Grand National. However, in 1987, ASC Mclaren got their hands on a small amount of the Grand Nationals being produced at the time and modified those cars from the body to the suspension to the wheels to the engine. Those cars were called The Buick GNX. 2) I am not aware of any '82-83' year Grand Nationals. I thought the first year for the black ones we all know of were produced from '84 to '87. I

  • toyota sucks!!! Im at the stoplight, this rice boy next to me is like, ooo look i put a supercharger on my car, that means its fast!! then my non supercharged lesabre smokes him.

my #2 dream car is a 2002 Regal GSX.

feel free to spend $20000 trying to make your toyota faster than that 'granny car'.

  • hahaha. you are hilairous. a non supercharged lesabre does 0-60 in 9 seconds. so, even if the story is true, you shouldnt tell it. haha. and believe me, there is A LOT of money in that "granny car." they dont run 9.6 out of the box. and please, dont embarrass yourself anymore talking about "smoking" anyone in your parents' car. you wanna see "smoked"? come race your lesabre against any one of my rides...

  • I was referring to the 2002 Regal GSX as a fast car. I know damn well that a Lesabre is a slow car. The point is his (the guy I was 'racing') supercharged ricer is still slow.

My 'fastest' car so far was an 99 oldsmobile aurora, customed w/eaton intercooled supercharger. 12.8 sec 1/4th mile. Cost a lot of money, but worth it till the banker man took it away :( thats why i,m in a s the lesabre.

    What are you cruisin in?

  • yeah i got a lesabre and theyre not very fast, its actually almost 8.0 seconds flat to 60 mph

  • Sure. Back in 1988 when I was loooking to buy a fast car, I had my heart set on a Grand National. A number of mechanics, and even a few dealers, were telling me that they were having a lot of problems with the engine. They weren't building them strong enough to handle the strain.

Of course, you were 7 years old at the time, so I doubt you heard much about it

  • We must be watching differant Pinks, I see ALOT more Chevys & GMs winning rather than ole Henry Ford, and Buick didnt pull the plug on GNs that was the last year of those body styles. Those were the fastest production cars in 84 85 86 and 87

  • Go to a car show and the GN steals the show. Everyone is mystified by a V6 Powerhouse!

  • Not a GN, even the announcer said "Regal." More like a T-Type. Even still...good race.

  • it was technically called a "Regal Grand National" from '82-'86, except in '83 when it was just called a t-type. Then, in '87 it was just called the GNX. I'm not tryin to be a know-it-all here, and i'm not tryin to be one of those assholes that goes around correcting everyone, acting like they know everything because they just did a google search and copied and pasted. I actually thought you brought up a good point, so i just looked it up on wikipedia. Although, i know i could still be wrong...

  • ForiegnCars121: Go back to Japan! haha what a stupid name! Japan sucks and you know it!! You made my day; stupidest user name I have ever seen!! LMAO!!!

  • Just so you know, Japan pwns the crap outta the United States in every aspect of existence pretty much...not just cars...but cars too. They could make a bunch of cars that would rape a 1/4 mile....but they make cars that don't turn like boats on sand. Toss them on a road course and its won't be ANYWHERE near that close. Domestics are fine, id like a 68' GTO, but ur a fuckin retard to think they can compete at being ALL AROUND performance cars. Drag and Nascar, blow hard, like watching golf.

  • I will give you points with that. Alot of people have a hard time grasping that there are 4 and 6 cyl. cars that can blow away alot of V8's. But, I have always said, dollar for dollar, "domestic muscle" is cheaper and easier to modify. You can build a 500+hp 350 or even a 302 for half of the cost of a new turbo and wastegate. But, a well built car, of any type, gets my kudos. 10 seconds is 10 seconds, no matter what you are in.

  • cmfg, it's refreshing to see a person on youtube with a level head and rationally assembled points. i couldnt agree with you more. some of these people are so silly with their generalizations. saying "american cars cant turn" is like saying "GrindBass86 knows what he is talking about." it might be right sometimes, but more often than not, its completely wrong.

  • Did you fall out of a tree and hit your head on every branch! You cant build japs like american muscle, or you will spend 3 or 4 times as much.Watch Pinks and see what happens to your japs if you see any at all.Where are they on Barrett Jackson?Get your road course and lets go,and if you like Japan so much move there.Your golf BLOWS HARDER!

  • "pwns the crap out of" huh? Try living there. You can rent yourself a nice shoebox of an apartment that costs

    you half your salary.

  • What a joke! So you're saying cars like the Viper and Corvette dont "handle"? Bull, they carve corners, demolish the straight line and stop like someone tossed an anchor. How about the Solstice Turbo, New Challenger, Mustang...hell even old musclecars are benig built to handle like they are on rails...lose the old piss poor crybaby generalizations. Lets face it, imports have picked up speed and domestics are cornering harder...its a brave new world, live in it.
