im mixed with white and black, my brother, arabic and white. he lived in yemen since he was about 2 up until he was about 13, so i didnt get to meet him until i was 11 an he was 17. when we met we were asking each other all sorts of questions and somehow we got to the subject of drugs and he said that he did qat, and he said look, and he blew up his cheeks and showd me that 1 was biggr than the othr from stuffin his mouth full of qat everyday when he was young...it was so cool/ weird/shocking!!!

@OnePieceftw, Kat is used to give u energy like coffee, but like anything if u abuse it yeah u will get fucked up. Its not addicitve at all, its like coffee. If u sit on your ass and chew kat all day long how is that any different than getting drunk all day? Chew an small sprig of kat for energy when u feel tired, its not addictive. its like saying coffee is addictive. Its NATURAL, just don't over use it obviously COMMON SENSE PEOPLE!

am a Yemeni/American i been to Yemen a few times...every time am out there i chew Qat, Because if you dont then from

2:pm to 6:pm you would have nothing to do at all...!!!!!!! everybody is chewing while your looking at the clock for 2-6 hours...wondering why there having a good time and your bored out of your mind...

qat makes time go fast and its very relaxing but you can still be active if you choose to

it does not slow your brain down and its not like your getting High just relaxing

And that's the main problem Yemen is facing.There are many other things you can do, just because many idiots spend their time chewing Qat, it doesn't mean they are doing the right things. What about using the 6 hours to study or grow food, instead of Qat? Yemen is the poorest country in the middle east,chewing Qat for 6 hours will not help in bringing any advancement to the country.

It does but heres the thing. At Yemen they literally nothing but chew it and talk for about 5-12 hours a day, with out doing anything but sit. The fathers tell there sons to get energy drinks, sodas, and other drinks since they have become too lazy to do it them selves. Don't believe any one that says qat is good, fucking destroyed a nation you see? Qat is also Forbidden in Islam since it harms your body and believe me my friend got extreme ulcers because he chewed qat at yemen and came back
