There really was a unicorn. If you take a look at one of serial killer Leonard Lake's photographs at the Renaissance Fair, Black Point, Marin County, you will see Lake and his wife with a goat having only one horn. How did this happen? The answer is simple: This goat was surgically altered, and it was called a "unicorn".
James Randi is no different to the people a hundred years ago saying no vehicle heavier than air would ever fly. Well at least Trudeau's book said that you need to maintain your diet for life to stay healthy...it just needs to be a normal healthy diet; not something crazy.
How exactly are scientists going to find paranormal phenomena? Science studies only normal phenomena, so once we'll detect ghosts, for example, this will become a normal phenomenon which was not previously detected. If we find that someone can shout electromagnetic beams out of his eyes at will then, since we can detect it, it becomes a normal phenomenon. Why should someone win a million $ for that?

You bitter mean old man. Ever watched little nicky? Yeah I think you deserve the pinnapple award for the autism bit. If there is a chance for autism using vaccination even if it's .0000001% then we should know the risk and how to prevent it. I'm one of the lucky million winners when I was 5 I was given medication for epilepsy. I was misdiagnosed and had an allegic reaction (1 in a million people are allergic) to it. SO STFU YOU BITTER OLD POS! LEAVE HER ALONE!
No, the dumbing down of America lies in the destruction of the public education system starting with Reagan and reached a climax with Bush Sr.'s No Child Left Behind disaster. Learn a little history.

James - all vaccinations contain mercury, formaldehyde, aluminum, and detergent. This is not spurious, this is not anecdotal like you claim. These substances are highly toxic. To confirm the toxicity of these things, please consult just about any scientist.
RLore18, all vaccinations do not contain all of those substances. Mercury is certainly present in all vaccines I've seen, acting as a preservative. You're correct that they are highly toxic, but then most things are in the correct quantity.
Potassium is also toxic in high quantities, yet it's present in many mineral waters. It's all down to the quantity and exposure over time. It's one reason why you can't just load a kid up with every vaccine they'll ever need in life.
I agree with scepticalpreacher. Saying that "every vaccine contains" all these things is just plain ridiculous.
Aside from that, you can simply look up how many persons were vaccined, how few of these have had complications, and how many of those were spared diseases which raged at the time.
I have been vaccined around 15 times in my life, for all possible diseases, but guess what: I am still in good health. All the mercury and formaldehyde which you said was in there didn't hurt me one bit.
Regarding the 'reply video' (which doesn't seem to be a reply) it looks like the 'mylow' so-called 'free energy' prank is still being believed by some of the TRUE BELIEVERS in youtube a week after the maker of the prank said it is a prank. That's just plain scary.
I really wish comments were allowed on the JREF site when these are posted there. Having to wade through the moronic comments which accompany almost all Youtube postings makes my eyes bleed like the Virgin Mary's ass.
Oops. I applaud Jame's Randi's debunking popular myths, and I know he believes vaccination is unrelated to autism. However, it isn' t vaccination parents of autistic children are protesting against; it's the mercury used in many vaccinations. Even in "trace" amounts, as the company's claim they are, mercury is extremely dangerous to the nervous system of young children, especially infants. I have read way too many articles of parents watching their children change within weeks.
Have you read scientific analyses, or anecdotal stories? The entire point is that the vaccines, with or without mercury, cannot be shown to cause problems. Even using common sense, think about how many people get vaccines and DON'T have problems of any kind. This may be a "popular myth" that you have fallen prey to.
I can't find anywhere a company that says there are trace amounts of mercury in their drugs. What drugs are being mentioned? Most vaccinations contain only a small amount of the contagion to begin with, and reactions are normal, especially skin reactions. Where is the evidence that vaccinations are contaminated?
Randi, I personally think if you're going to name these nitwits, you should send them a plaque. That way they'll find out the hard way about your show and what you're calling them out on.
that argument is pretty vague, luckely that isnt the only correlation between the many cultures, do you know what "the flower of life" is? research it and you will find that it has been found all over the place including Egypt.
Maybe an award should go to the people who make and star in the SciFi Channel show "Ghost Hunters". Never before have creaks and groans in old places were made to sound like dead people speaking. Using stuff made from Radio Shack parts.
If you place an electrode pair on your scalp, you can record brain waves: low-voltage e-fields. If you place those same electrodes in the air a few mm away from your scalp, the signal IS STILL THERE (because of capacitive coupling.) To increase the signal, use a preamp with extremely high input impedance.
So, while Ross' claim of "EM eye beams" is outside science ...his goggles aren't. They aren't picking up "beams." They're just picking up the e-fields which extend past your skin.
why does he include Atlantis amung unicorns? Why is Atlantis such a ridiculous idea? Its the most logical idea to explain the corallations in the world like: pyramides, architecture, religion, the knowledge of the stars etc etc...
no, pls disprove of my claim. doesn't it seem that all these civilizations are too common to have sprung up out of themselves? all around the same period? you gotta be bullshitting me.
or the structures that are found under water? pyramide shaped?
what do you mean by proof? should I give you a piece of rock that will tell you that its from atlantis after put under a microscope?
There are structures found in the sees and have pyrimidal architectures. And logic tells me that the coincidences are toomuch around the world. Iv talked about this is some scientific forums, I provide all the coincidences and they can't explain why or they come up with stupid theorys why, that hold no ground in my opinion.
man you are fucking dumb, conspiracy theory's = no skepticism? and btw I'm not saying that it is a conspiracy theory, you misinterpreted what i sayed. And even so, conspiracy's happen everyday all the time. I bet you believe 110 story's collapsed in 10 second and pulverized (while buildings in China don't even collapse at all) and that the war in iraq was for alquiada. you just don't want to see the facts.
So some caveman decided to do this amazing opparation and managed to even crash 2 (supposedly 3) planes into 3 diffrent spots, they had to fly over the most protected country of the fucking world yet with box cutters they did it all in the name of alah? Look at my playlist of "american situations" and watch bush's response when asked a rather "tough" question. You havn't even researched the subject.
If you're going to call someone ignorant, learn to spell. And where in holy hell do you even begin to believe that buildings in China don't collapse? Unless I'm misunderstanding which I'm sure most are, seeing as your thoughts seem to be all over the place. It's Al' Qaeda, and you should stick to the facts, and stop calling names.
excuse me for the spelling. I didn't mean buildings in general but if you would have know of the great fire it china's tallest buildings you would have known that it did not collapse even after the heavy fire. (youtube for images) Yes it is Al' Qaeda but this is an organization set up by the CIA. btw question, do you believe osama bin laden planned all of this? and do you beleive that he is the reason why USA is in IRAQ?
In short, I don't believe much of anything the Government tells me about anything. yes, I know the moniker was given by the CIA to categorize an entire group of many and varied peoples. Of course it was for oil and war profiteering. I think Osama helped to fund the World Trade Center incident. Many buildings have been gutted, and not collapsed, so there's nothing special in the incident of one being gutted in China. That's what the term "gutted" refers to. Some remain standing, others fall.
3 fall in one day when this never happened before. look at these images and convince yourself that fire caused it: /watch?v=c611FK37Un8
I'm going to leave it at that, just like a chirstian believes his truth so do you believe yours.
and its not that Im stubbern but i saw a round table descussion with so called 9/11 "debunkers" vs conspiracy theorist and the debunkers had no strong claims nor evidence. they ticked it of with it was "all one big mistake" my ass
You are aware that planes, one topped off with fuel, slammed into the buildings at alarming speeds, right? Kinda different from just a fire. Oh, and there are buildings that have collapsed due to fire. Oops.
A gaping hole and a fire, yes. Bending steel is not a great way to hold up an enormous building that's been compromised. Building 7 had massive damage in a corner. If you do a little bit of math, and notice how a penthouse collapses before the rest, you'd understand this. They? The CTists tend to shorten that clip.
So those floors above the holes are of no tonnage at all? Right. Building 7 didn't fall exactly into a footprint, btw; and if it did, it still doesn't imply anything like you are. Weight goes down; it takes an insane amount of energy to make a building fall sideways. Nothing more needed? Typical.
Not only do controlled demo buildings have big chunks, WTC used very little cement. Your point? Jet fuel filled the floors. A lot was burned off, yes, but you only need a little to spread fire. One of towers did fall asymmetricall for a bit, bit.
Stephen E. Jones, a man who helped them, has been claiming things and retracting for years. It's poor science this fellow is pushing, and all you can whip out is that men in caves canard? When the planning wasn't in them? Show me the peer reviews, and not just eight buddies.
Come now Randi, be fair. Jenny McCarthy isn't suggesting that parents shouldn't vaccinate their children, she's simply suggesting that vaccines are filled with noxious chemicals and industrial poisons that may kill your child. Let's make the distinction. Ms. McCarthy advocates "Greening" our vaccines by making them "all natural" like say, oh I don't know.........Measles, Mumps and Smallpox pathogens. She's very clear on that point.
More than 3,000 new cases of autism were reported in California in 2006, compared with 205 in 1990. In 1990, 6.2 of every 10,000 children born in the state were diagnosed with autism by the age of five, compared with 42.5 in 10,000 born in 2001, according to the study, published in the journal Epidemiology. The numbers have continued to rise since then.
"It's time to start looking for the environmental culprits responsible for the remarkable increase in the rate of autism in California" - Hertz-Picciotto.
It's more then likely that better detection on top of environmental issues is the cause of the rise.
As an aside, vaccines have been distributed since the later 40's early 50's in many places with little/no increases in autism.
Plus, with a diagnosis of "Autism Spectrum Disorder" there are more educational services available to the child. Doctors will therefore often make this diagnosis in borderline cases where they otherwise might not, but where they feel the child might benefit from the services.
I'm British, but every time I find my self in America, and turn on the set, sure enough ol'Tredeau is still therem selling some new crap, whilst i'm on the floor in stiches.
More than 48 hours ago the creator of the "MyLow" fake "free energy" device confessed to faking it; astonishingly, many people in YouTube and elsewhere on the 'net are insisting he is lying about it being a fake.
This morning even more defenders of the "mylow" prank are insisting "mylow" lied about his "free energy" device being a fake. They show every sign of being just like religious fanatics.
This reminds me of that thing you can do with your finger, where you hold it over someone's palm and they can kinda feel a tingle where you're pointing. I forget what causes it, maybe your body heat or maybe you just feel different because you see something near your skin.
It is in Plato and Spinoza. harm to others is harm to the self, it is harm to the whole. Reason allows us to make judgements which serve most good and least harm. It is logical to cooperate, loving one's neighbour was a concept taken from Greek philosophy and ethics, it did not originate in Judah. Religion turns all the above to crap, it preaches surrender to authority. it is how people are persuaded to kill in the name of a particular sky daddy. Where is the conscience in religion?
You made my point exactly. I asked, and you responded by quoting old dead people's work, and being preachy.. You sound like a science priest. Get head out of cornhole, find own heart, stop quoting others. And you'll learn how to accept both as simply different ways, seeing the shortcomings in the corruption of both, and you won't be a asshole quoting old dead people anymore. Its win win isn't it. Yeh
Neither Plato nor Spinoza were scientists. They were philosophers, people who seek truth rather than simply writing fiction and asserting it to be true. So I can see how one could mistake them for scientists since they're basically the opposite of a theologian.
i dont believe any claims anyone makes...if someone says something strange i do research and look up scientific data..then i make my opinion...i dont believe in god because there is no evidence...and im not gonna believe some 2000 year old sheepherders that wrote the bible...its hard enough for me to believe people these days..let alone people ive never met..2000 years ago
Vaccines? No link to Autism? New literature beg to differ.

James - all vaccinations contain mercury, formaldehyde, aluminum, and detergent. This is not spurious, this is not anecdotal like you claim. These substances are highly toxic. To confirm the toxicity of these things, please consult just about any scientist.
RLore18 2 years ago
RLore18, all vaccinations do not contain all of those substances. Mercury is certainly present in all vaccines I've seen, acting as a preservative. You're correct that they are highly toxic, but then most things are in the correct quantity.
Potassium is also toxic in high quantities, yet it's present in many mineral waters. It's all down to the quantity and exposure over time. It's one reason why you can't just load a kid up with every vaccine they'll ever need in life.
scepticalpreacher 2 years ago 4
I agree with scepticalpreacher. Saying that "every vaccine contains" all these things is just plain ridiculous.
Aside from that, you can simply look up how many persons were vaccined, how few of these have had complications, and how many of those were spared diseases which raged at the time.
I have been vaccined around 15 times in my life, for all possible diseases, but guess what: I am still in good health. All the mercury and formaldehyde which you said was in there didn't hurt me one bit.

OrmEmber 2 years ago
Have you read scientific analyses, or anecdotal stories? The entire point is that the vaccines, with or without mercury, cannot be shown to cause problems. Even using common sense, think about how many people get vaccines and DON'T have problems of any kind. This may be a "popular myth" that you have fallen prey to.
mineralfellow 2 years ago
I can't find anywhere a company that says there are trace amounts of mercury in their drugs. What drugs are being mentioned? Most vaccinations contain only a small amount of the contagion to begin with, and reactions are normal, especially skin reactions. Where is the evidence that vaccinations are contaminated?

If you place an electrode pair on your scalp, you can record brain waves: low-voltage e-fields. If you place those same electrodes in the air a few mm away from your scalp, the signal IS STILL THERE (because of capacitive coupling.) To increase the signal, use a preamp with extremely high input impedance.
So, while Ross' claim of "EM eye beams" is outside science ...his goggles aren't. They aren't picking up "beams." They're just picking up the e-fields which extend past your skin.

TaskforceDingbat 2 years ago
excuse me for the spelling. I didn't mean buildings in general but if you would have know of the great fire it china's tallest buildings you would have known that it did not collapse even after the heavy fire. (youtube for images) Yes it is Al' Qaeda but this is an organization set up by the CIA. btw question, do you believe osama bin laden planned all of this? and do you beleive that he is the reason why USA is in IRAQ?
colloredbrothers 2 years ago
In short, I don't believe much of anything the Government tells me about anything. yes, I know the moniker was given by the CIA to categorize an entire group of many and varied peoples. Of course it was for oil and war profiteering. I think Osama helped to fund the World Trade Center incident. Many buildings have been gutted, and not collapsed, so there's nothing special in the incident of one being gutted in China. That's what the term "gutted" refers to. Some remain standing, others fall.
TaskforceDingbat 2 years ago

You are aware that planes, one topped off with fuel, slammed into the buildings at alarming speeds, right? Kinda different from just a fire. Oh, and there are buildings that have collapsed due to fire. Oops.

"Kinda different from just a fire."
official story says fire.
"Oh, and there are buildings that have collapsed due to fire. Oops. "
Not these building as they where made to resist fire. ^^
I f you believe building 7 came down with the fire they showed you must be out of your mind.
colloredbrothers 2 years ago
A gaping hole and a fire, yes. Bending steel is not a great way to hold up an enormous building that's been compromised. Building 7 had massive damage in a corner. If you do a little bit of math, and notice how a penthouse collapses before the rest, you'd understand this. They? The CTists tend to shorten that clip.
amitymeans 2 years ago
"A gaping hole and a fire, yes. Bending steel is not a great way to hold up an enormous building that's been compromised."
It fell down and pulvorized into dust this also is not normal, and the gaping hole was totaly upstairs.
"Building 7 had massive damage in a corner."
yet it fell into its footprint not normal.
"They? The CTists tend to shorten that clip."
doesnt matter you see fire you see collapse nothing more needed.
colloredbrothers 2 years ago
So those floors above the holes are of no tonnage at all? Right. Building 7 didn't fall exactly into a footprint, btw; and if it did, it still doesn't imply anything like you are. Weight goes down; it takes an insane amount of energy to make a building fall sideways. Nothing more needed? Typical.
amitymeans 2 years ago
"So those floors above the holes are of no tonnage at all?"
yes but some walls would still be sticking out, yet everything just pulverized.
"Weight goes down; it takes an insane amount of energy to make a building fall sideways. Nothing more needed? Typical. "
There was fire in the side meaning only the side should collapse while the other side stood up, instead it did fall in its footprint!

The numbers have continued to rise since then.
joengracie 2 years ago
An interesting statistic. What conclusions can you draw? Perhaps the state of California begin vaccinating children in 1990?
Bunk336 2 years ago 2
It would probably make more sense to maybe conclude that we've better methods of detecting autism than we used to.
IAmPhotoBucket 2 years ago
Post the whole thing next time.
Coldchaos 2 years ago
Plus, with a diagnosis of "Autism Spectrum Disorder" there are more educational services available to the child. Doctors will therefore often make this diagnosis in borderline cases where they otherwise might not, but where they feel the child might benefit from the services.

What is the science of conscience?
willingtorisk 2 years ago
It is in Plato and Spinoza. harm to others is harm to the self, it is harm to the whole. Reason allows us to make judgements which serve most good and least harm. It is logical to cooperate, loving one's neighbour was a concept taken from Greek philosophy and ethics, it did not originate in Judah. Religion turns all the above to crap, it preaches surrender to authority. it is how people are persuaded to kill in the name of a particular sky daddy. Where is the conscience in religion?
marsCubed 2 years ago
