Sounds like Kerranz knows what he's talking about... I don't have any design experience but I can tell you that putting a pointy, aggressive headstock on an round, friendly guitar like a Fender is very dissonant. Hahn doesn't do that specifically but I can't think of a good reason not to round off the end of his headstock.
Bob, I already acknowledged the build quality in my first comment. You're clearly invested by ownership or friendship, and I'm not interested in making him change, or arguing with you. I'm sure Chihoe is a fine person, he's friends with many people I know. I simply mentioned two design issues which are apparently outside your concern. I know because you've not cared enough to reply three times. Guitar designers can take constructive criticism, if they are
Check out Guitar Player Mag's review of the Hahn. They were blown away. Chihoe has the right to do anything he wants to change the headstock. A smiley face would be OK for the quality of workmanship he evidently has achieved.
No a Tele 'rework' by Chihoe Hahn-- boutique builder...he's been in Premier Guitar magazine a lot lately. Check the headstock, it's really squared off (inappropriately I think) and you'll see a big H on the headstock (with the word hahn under the crossbar, also not the best layout idea, above would've been better from a Feng Shui sort of anti-depressant notion). People love 'em though. Must be doing something right.
@LabelBob Having designed 220 new models & hundreds of logos, I have valid reasons for these objective criticisms. Hahn's squarish headstock motifs are directly in oppostion to the rounded forms of the Telecaster it is attached to, so they fight visually, which is not desirable to achieving unity in guitar design. Also, putting a bar across the top of a word has an oppressive effect, as we read the tops of letters. Surrounding the last three letters also isolates them & slows recognition.

@kerranz He makes a great guitar, go play one and you won't care about the way the headstock looks.

Respond to this video... Dan Agee (Joe Nichols) and Robben Ford don't give a damn what the headstock looks like, go play one and you won't either.
