  • fuck of steve wright ...you cunt

  • steve wright was a right minge bag

  • steve wright is still a prick

  • I'm crying...and I didn't look back. I remember this from my youth. Loved siging it all the time ;)

  • stop being so american and pathetic, moaning about steve wrights comments

  • It has always been said that Child Working Laws etc put paid to these Lads singing career.

A bit strange this because there were a few other British Child atistes around at the time as well, who carried on.

I have always suspected that maybe some people were afraid that Our Kid might just encroach into and pose a threat to the Jacksons/Osmonds monopoly of this type of act at the time, and pulled a few strings.

Just a thought..Apologies if I you think I am wrong

  • @dw69ful

The problem was that - unlike Lena Zavaroni - Our Kid's audience was mainly in the working mens club circuit. The hours were late (later than a theatre gig for example) and sharing the bill with others meant that they could not be guaranteed their slot. With adults it makes no difference if they go on at 8 or 11 but with underage performers, that would be illegal. So there was no Transatlantic Big Music Company Conspiracy, just the realities of Saturday nights at Barnsley CIU

  • terry pacino far right still lives in walton, livepool, see him now and again just a normal fella, wander who got the royalties.

  • @ste2201 ...... Bacino :)

  • errrrr the fore runner to x factor dont you think

  • 100 per cent more talent than one direction

  • agree with other comments - Steve Wright....idiot...whoever listened to his views anyway - he was a bit of a joke. Our Kid....what a shame nobody took them further....vocally fantastic & this was SO popular back in the day....i loved it them....and over 30yrs on...still love it - well done boys...even though you are grown men nowadays!! you did really good & you were loved!! take it from me!

  • Dated plinky plonky, twee shite. If it's good it will always be timeless. This just isn't. How the fuck did I end up here. I was listenting to Pink Floyd.....

  • Great to hear and see our kid again.good times

  • Is that Glynn Poole who sang Millie Molly Mandy on lead vocals ????

  • Better than anything about today. They had a taste of stardom and a huge hit when the charts still meant something.

  • Jimmy Savile's favourite band...........?

  • Cute :)

  • Oh my God!! I saw these several times in Liverpool! I was besotted with Brian (Dark haried one, second in from the left) I actaully got to meet him and he grabbed my ass....I went to pieces. Mind you, I was only 10...lol....it was like Beatles mania in Liverpool with Our Kid...but like I said, I was only 10. Great memories....and for the saddos who are calling them mongs....like to see you do better....morons!

  • @aznauk I am from Liverpool and remember these kids.

Could have been bigger stars had the education authority not made them go back to school.

  • the good old days

  • Yes, Steve Wright was a pr**k for his unfortunate comments. After all, as Will55768 says, ''they were kids''. When you hear JLS and the likes, I don't think there's much difference when given the the different time era's..Maybe I'm just biased because that was my era and this song brings back good memories etc.

  • "steve wright can be such a prick" Steve wright IS the archetypal PRICK

  • did jimmy saville try it on with these in the studio, thats the rumour. they look fucking retarded, backward dumbfucks

  • i think that you need to have been there when this song was in the charts - young going through puberty first love ect - i think that steve needs to look back and remember what he was doing when this was a hit

  • @will55768 YOU FUCKING SAD PRICK,THEY WERE KIDS. YOU TWAT .

  • Agree re Steve Wright - unfortunately it's 'trendy' to deride, easy to look at stuff 30 years ago and mock, no doubt some prick will be doing it to this generation in another 30 years.

  • never heard of these. our kid, sounds northern. love scrolling through all this 70s stuff. its so bad its almost good. was glitter on the same programme, hope not, ha ha ha. the fat old twat would think it was xmas.

  • fantastic xx shaz

  • Great song, brilliant performance, Steve Wright should learn to keep his gob shut!

  • Was this the first BOY BAND Ever ??

  • But then if there was any greater proof of not needing Talent to last its Steve Wright

So lacking it probably not expect him to know it

  • I watch this so I can give a thumbs up to the top comments. Totally unacceptable Steve Wright Just like your rubbish shows on radio 2

  • hey leave them alone they were british version of the osmonds . great on them the osmonds made it to the top why shouldnt the british youngsters not do the same. wtg our kid .what with jimmy with ill be your long haired lover from liverpool. hey thats a place in england aint it . couldnt he find anywhere in america to name this tune lol

  • Steve Wright can be such a prick.

  • @teebee1984 he's a fat prick now!!

  • romeo and juliet was 2nd single..and last

  • great song.........steve wright on the other hand is a bent cunt

  • blatant Nazi salute???,you`re a sick man

  • And to think the Sex Pistols were boiling under in the background when this was a hit. Anarchy in the UK!!!!!

  • where are they now ? hope they kept smiling with the same glint as they do here

  • They were cute! 1976 wasn't the best musical year, they were some of the best mainline pop.

  • I don't find this song, the group or the performance any worse than the "Boy Bands" of today.

And as this is from 1976 was it the practice to have a gay band member then as it is now? if so my moneys on the one on the far right.

  • brilliant, i'm still waitin for the follow up single anyone know when its out ?

  • Somehow i cant quite visualise the kop singing this.

  • Forget the Beatles, the real spirit of Liverpool is embodied in Our Kid. The little fat one could sing in tune and at times their cool stage moves are very nearly co-ordinated. Even their clothes had a huge influence on Liverpool fashions which can still be seen around the city today.

  • randyfathumb your out of time a thousand pop songs are similar this song is not similar enough for a comparison. Who the fcuk is steve wright no mark never heard of him.Good song the competition was a lot stronger in 76 compared to now

  • this is fucking great.the tune is out of time by the stones(made famous by some other bloke ) ,even the string motiff is the same.when you start with nothing and come up a song like this thats amore~.

  • Not a bad song actually , at least there all in perfect tune, thank god there not on the x factor poor old louie would have a bit of a stiffy and cheryl would have damp pants, i wonder where they are now

  • i love you my angel john... you are so cute in this video.. i wished i was born in your time..you have a fantastic voice like the others.... i hope i can see your group in person .. soon i hope.. please come soon baby..sing me a love song .. coz i really love to hear it from you

  • i love you so much baby ,, i am so happy to have you in my life,, i am very proud of you,, i am so overwhelmed with joy,, i love you MR.UK MAN... soon you will see me in church.. my angel,, you are my life ,,my everything...........

    missing you from asian!!

  • Erm snide or not - it was funny -hee-hee

  • do u know where i can get an mp3 of this?

  • It's hard to imagine they became a punk band a year later. 'You just might see me vomit' was a classic.

  • Spoilt by the blatant Nazi salute at 1:25 but respect to the little fella who refuses to do it.

  • @funwigfive `our kid ` were used to recruit kids into the hitler youth their songs included `tommorow belongs to me` and `horst wessel `

  • As some people on here might be the same age as me & my sister (50 & 52) we would like to ask if anyone remembers a group called FRENZY from Scotland (we think) in the mid to late 70's any help would be great Many Thanks Gail & Ann (Fae Scotland) xx

  • Ok for all the slagging off these guys get... i know there doing a ok for themselvelves.. my little girl happens to think her music teacher at eccleston mere is awesome... so to you guys fromk my teens... :) ... I think you all rock xxx

  • I bought the album, ............lol........I have it still, but this song is so catchy all these years on

  • Very cute and the song is seriously catchy. I hope these boys are very happy nowadays, because they deserve to be.

  • shite and shit !!!!

  • @25ghr only shit if you want it to be hun,... this was my era, an when you'r older and reminiscing, these thoughts will come back to haunt you with a n vengeance, .. the memories, the people long forgotten, which one day you will understand,......everyone is born and brought up in the era they know!,....all i can say is,... thank you for the seventies!!!!!

  • They are all good but the lead singer has a great voice -the last I heard he was living in Australia, our loss ! Heard this last night on an old TOTP programme and can't stop singing it. Someone should record it -it has HIT written all over it !

    odonna 17

  • Our Kid later transformed themselves into a punk hardcore group called Flick Knife...their debut single was called 'Fried Foetus and Chips' The singer was arrested for biting the nose off his girlfriend during a speed and cocaine binge

  • @TomthatiscalledTom i remember seeing our kid on new faces and thinking now theres a group that are gonna cause mayhem, carnage in a rock`n`roll lifestyle of drug busts paternity suits and wrecked hotels

  • These guys shit all over Justin Bieber. I'd like to see them re-form again and do a five-album deal with one of the major labels.

  • brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is great, nice song, and smart kids too. Brings back memories! No need for any of Steve Wrights idiotic comments or insults-an opinionated nobody!

  • WFIOA8... I know how you feel... I struggled with my Nans cat dying.. His name was smudge and his passing hit us all hard ESP Nan... She lost her mind and ended up in a home after Smudge moved on.. so I share your pain.

  • I well remember this, I remember them winning new faces and I remember this song. I remember my mum & dad coming home from the pub with their mates and making me and my brother song along too this.,. Happy memories.. Tks for posting it ;-)

  • OMG I used to have the 45' of this and played it to death at the time. Im a lot older these days.....LOL

But its still a good track :)

  • cont... way, we lost contact because he started to steal food & money off me, usually he liked to steal welks & other marine life for food. if you see this T, I miss you lad. Now every full moon i can smell snails & you come to haunt me with needles & other paraphernalia. Wish you would come and visit, we could shoot up together outside kwiksave or something, with a picture of nan & some slippers. Still miss our brews & digestives together, miss ya lad xxx

  • @WFIA08 Thinking of you at a difficult time. My dad passed away on 23rd December 1995, so you'll hopefully understand why I don't care much for Christmas. Life goes on, but loved ones can't be replaced.

  • Terrance (the one of the far left) is my brother. We used to live with eachother for years & went to the same school. Sometimes we'd just sit outside singing daft Suzi Quattro songs & drink a brew with some digestives about ten foot away from the shed. After the death of our nanas cat he started to withdraw into a seashell, like a seasnail. Sometimes we gazed at the full moon together. Then he started on the smack & got in a bad way. I got off the stuff but he kept going for it and got in a bad

  • cont... you'd knock on the door and he'd send a brother or sister to say he wasn't in when yer knew damn well he was ten foot away wtih a brew and some digestives. Like me years later he used some smak and several years ago I started hearing some upsetting shit. This guy (if you see this 'T' it's Bacca) was one of my best peoples. I'm 50 now and often think of our camping trips. Keepin' ferrets. Remeber sittin on your Ma's wall at dinner time singin' daft Suzi Quattro songs? I miss ya lad. xxx

  • its enough to make me want to watch X factor .alright our kid -no they`re fuckin ` not

  • Aaaah i used to love this :D

compare these fella's to the boy band on X factor today.... We all know there's no comparisn. mind you X factor is a joke to be fair.

Anyone know if any of them are still 'out there'?

  • @derbyrach1971 I was mates with Terrence Baccino (the one on the far end). We were in the same class together for years. I can't tell you the laugh we had in these days.I'd sit in his house and the phone would be goin' constantly and i'd answer it and give the fans abuse. Fan madness existed then. He withdrew into a kind of shell. He was already a great natural guitarist(after a meeting with Chris Speading 'Motor Bikin'" who was a session player, T started learning Classical guitar to read music

  • if they went on x factor or any of the talent shows -they would have pissed it- catchy tune and good vocals

  • Loved these when they were around. Still got the single!

  • This is just so awful.

  • THIS IS SO SAD

  • Is that the Steve Wright .........who turned out to be a 'propercuntwithnoideaaboutmusicandthesameoldtiredformatonradio2' , Did,nt he marry himself ?, just a thought.

  • @happychappy12 The 70's and 80's were brilliant- but there was one bad thing about them and that was Steve Wright. I' m sure he couldn't sing a note and he is well below average looking and he presumes to make sarcastic comments about people who do have some talent.

  • this is a great song....can't stand people like Steve Wright who take the piss...how many top 10 hits has he had...eh eh..??

  • Jesus ,these all look so GEEKY

  • thank god for for punk rock,is all i can say!

  • Aw! Terry Baccino, Remember this being on totp.

  • Whatever happened to professionalism and polish?

  • Wow i remember our kid young fresh faces with decent voices such a shame they were labelled one hit wonders thanks for the memories of this

  • i lived around corner from them remem them well

  • Reminds me of a school coach trip and all the kids singing this song

  • Ermmm Princesscherie09 how much of a friend was 'Kenny' as his name was actually Kevin (Kevin Rowland).... LOL

  • @sheilspeter Kevin Rowan not Rowland, he was in a different band entirely :)

  • @LisaRoxan Dexy's Midnight Runners were/are/were/are a great band too. Pity there isn't enough British talent of their calibre anymore - most of it is just drab.

  • @fatpizzaman couldn't agree more :)

  • By the fucking way... I used to really like Steve Wright but he has developed a stuck-up fucking attitude lately. He derides simple 'pop' songs when he plays them like he's now a fucking superior being, bloody idiot.

    That's all.

  • To quote Joey from Friends,

    'I LIKE IT'

Thanx for posting, that was a good era for me.

  • Agreed Cherie he's still got it

  • love this kenny the lead singer is amazing and one of my friends :) xxx

  • @princesscherie09 I thought his name was Kevin???

  • Brings back memores

  • "AWESOME".......;]

  • to berthigginbottom. that really made me laugh bout the insect repellant. they were fucking shit this group ar they gay. mind you i wanted to shag jane, from rod jane and freddy. so i cant talk, ha ha.

  • 11 seconds ago I needed some insect repellent for a great big fuck off wasps nest in the attic of our old house, I explained to the pest control company that I’d tried everything I could think of but nothing worked!

    .

They sent me a CD of these little shits!

    .

The house was wasp free in about 25 minutes!

  • There some things i don't miss, this is one of them.

  • These gusy are VERY talented!

  • Comment removed

  • where are they now?

  • I was there 4th row at the liverpool empire !!!!! twice !!!

  • Does anyone know how I can get mp3 version of this. One of my sister's faves, of all time, and I want to load it on to her ipod.

  • @lpm1 Hiya, Think you will be able to get mp3 of this song for your sis at .... abmp3 and also ringtones.

  • "Now just when you thought it couldn't get any worse...here's Our Kid!" LOL

  • Steve Wright wouldn't know a good song if it got up and hit him around the head. lol

  • Dont knock them Steve , the moves are crap but they are all in perfect tune, well done lads .

  • afterthought! ..it could get worse! listen to wright s show on the radio!

  • Thanks for agreeing with me..with regard to Steve Wright! Pablobreitner!

  • yes i remember this from 1976..springtime ! great music..great memories too!

  • class..smartly dressed ,,clean cut kids..the youth of today could learn a lot from these lads,, ynwa lfc4eva

  • wow cant get over how young i was then... thanks for posting my record andrea

  • poor sods

  • SHIT!

  • And another thing, who listens to the opinions of cretinous DJ? Anyone can mouth of about music and sit on there over paid arses playing records.

  • when i hear Atomic Kittens song i think of these!

  • .......LOVELY......

  • brings back the memories!! didnt they win new faces or someth???

  • My dad loved this song when he was alive i love it too :) x

  • Steve Wright..snide bastard

  • @phillipr61 Oh yes, Steve Wright, a legend ( in his own mind ) never had a good word to say about anyone. He thinks he is so funny, yeah right. As for Our Kid, FANTASTIC. Enough said..........

  • @miketravis

So glad it's not just me that thinks Steve Wrigt is a biggotted and arrogant pillock.

  • @phillipr61 agreed, they are better then the shite seen on X factor nice tune as well, and Im no fan of kiddy bands. Steve Wright , Im sure, is more than happy to pick up his overpaid salary for comments like that, it begs the questions, do we need disc jockeys? and are we interested in there opinions anyway?

  • @phillipr61

lol. Some of "Wrighty's" comments can be a lil cutting, I have to agree.

In my opinion, "You Just Might See Me Cry" by Our Kid was not a bad track at all. And, when one takes into account the fact that the members of the group were no more than 12 years of age at the time it was recorded, you have to say that it was pretty impressive. Hats off the the four young lads in the group, i say. (Obviously, I realise that those 'young lads' are now middle-aged men. )

  • Let's face it, this was pretty crap wasn't it. Quite funny though

  • Must have been the first of the boy band rubbish that the geeky teen girls started to throw their knickers at!

Jeez! if only they knew what they started :(

  • yeah i was one of them and damn proud

  • One of the first records I wanted to buy, but never did! Even thought they look impossibly young to me now, this song had a certain something about it.

  • Thanks! Been wanting to hear this one again for a long time. Reminds me of days gone by.

  • This is a great song

Steve Wright is a pratt with his cutting remarks

At least they got on TOTP'S

    More than I did

    How young where they

  • solche bastarde

  • lead singer correction to tania .his name is kevin rown and they won new faces ,not oppertunity knocks

  • @bosuns69 Rowan x

  • hi,you a fan too

  • 76 what a summer, hottest i ever remember geat music too,

  • We should all applaud Our Kid for being the 1st Britsih Boy Band. Who paved the way for all the followers from a Fab city like Liverpool who produced the Beatles and The Tremeloes and to many more to mention. Guys if you read this be proud I have a copy of you just might see me cry I would not swap if for anything. Also back then in 76 if you had done concerts I would def have come to see you.

    Marlene Graham

  • @andrea07314 I think that "Our Kid" deserve credit for reaching # 2 in the charts with "You Just Might See Me Cry". It was not a bad single at all - and when you take into account the fact that they were only 11/12 years of age when it was recorded, you cannot fail to be impressed. That said, i would dispute ur claim that Our KId were the 1st British Boy Band. The Bay City Rollers (who had their first Top 10 single in October 1971) were surely a Boy Band - as indeed were Kenny and Slik.

  • i ad big crush on one of them

  • lol so did i!!!! x

  • The lead singer is Kevin Reynolds and they all hail from Walton in Liverpool, how do I know? Because I used to live on the same road as Kevin. He was only 11 year old when he and the lads did this and won opportunity knocks with it. So yeh he did have the balls to get up and sing for his supper.

  • sorry but the lead singer is kevin Rowan and he lived off scottie rd , another lad loff netherfield road everton , one was from walton and the other seaforth , how do i know because i was a mad fan

  • such good memories,thanx

  • steve wrights a jerk..with his side remarks

  • Absolutely love this song. Our Kid, if any of you are watching - you bring back really lovely memories of my younger days.

  • I've got to agree with eurolady, snide comments are two a penny, if you're going to say something wrighty make it worth listening to, as for midindianajonesmakemineaholicicantbelieveitsnotbutter, try getting out once in a while and grab yourself a life.

  • Are you completely stupid?

  • Don`t be jealous of their achievement. I am sure if you had had the chance they had you would have done the same. I applaud them for having the balls to get up and give it a go.

  • I am not jealous at all. I am jealous of the likes of Dave Gilmour and Mark Knopfler, not these.

  • God this brings back memories, I can remember going to see the lads at a club in Sunderland and had to lie about my age to get in

  • I remember sitting on the bench at the bottom of Carnarvon road on Rice Lane with me mates just waiting for Terry Bacino to walk past with his guitar and we'd shout 'Hiya Terry' and he's say 'Hiya' and we'd swoon and all go 'ooooh, isnt he great' lol... good times! :)
