Honestly: whoever is not touched by this anthem doesn't understand anthems. I am German. Our anthem is a bad joke. The American is...well..okay. Most European anthems are okay. But the Russian one is the blueprint of an anthem. All of the others are just pieces of meaningless music compared to this.

theres a reason for that, Russian Imperial anthem was "God Save the Tsar", also a very beautiful anthem. But there is no monarch today (unfortunately) so this is the next best thing. I am SOOOO glad Putin restored our national Byzantine symbol though- the double headed eagle.
