1:20 what if i dont have ac or ps? actually i have both, but the ac compressor and ps pump went out and i dont care to fix them just to test iac idle speed.

hey i have a 91 3800 GM motor in my buick, and in the moirning after it idles high to warm up it drops low and as i change the gears or turn the wheel all the way it shuts off and jerkly idles bad with the temp light flashes alot. But hwen i get it going it drives good and the idle is normal. i have spotlessly cleaned the pin and the whole motor, it has improved but still acts up if its colder outside. Do i need a new IcV?

@CODxFUNxMAN did you perform the ohm test on the iac? no... you didnt? i didnt think so. if you want to be sure if it is the iac, perform the ohm test.

@crazydriver1978 ya it was fine i knew it was fine by starting the car with it plugged in. and with ought, and it worked, it was the timing chain and cam sensor that went bad.

if idle air control dies completely could it lead to no start at all ?

you could probably start it with the throttle partialy pressed, but let right off and it would probably die

don't buy these parts from Pepboys.

my truck won't idle up when it's cold. so I bought a new one. (over $70) and it still don't work.

after seeing this video and the wear on one side of the pintle, I believe the part is defective and pepboys will not return it.

it also doesn't move when you hook it up to a power supply such as a 9v battery.

pepboys has a bad return policy. so avoid this store.

OMG so much help, but I kno what area to look in but i cant seem to find my IAC around my throttle. note (im not 2 mechanicly trained). I have a 95 buick lesabre and it has a high idle and it will die if im driving and take my foot off the gas pedal. I changed the fuel pump, fuel lines, alternator, brake lines, spark plugs... It seems to run better but I cant keep 2 footing this car. HELP PLEASE if u can!!!

I'm glad some1 finally got 2 dis, but naw not fixed yet. I just found out that my Security wire was not grounded, so trying to fix that and i also have a bad trans fluid leak. hopefully if i get this leak fixed i could stop 2 footing this car.

@Brandonword I would check the egr valve, when they go bad those are the symtoms u discribe also
