"In a young summer's youth". This crappy lyric is an accurate representation of the song as a whole, which also features an uninspired melody and sloppy guitar work. None of the great qualities you see in his early work. Listen to energy in "Dinks Song" or the skillful guitar work in "Don't Think Twice". Sorry to rain on the parade here, but hey, not like Dylan ever had a problem doing that. Dislike.
I had read that Dylan regretted including this song on "Another Side of Bob Dylan" as it was too raw and uncensored. Thank God he recorded this album in three days and didn't have time to reconsider.
No offense but what the hell was Bob thinking? Suze Rotolo has got to be one of THE prettiest girls I've ever seen. Way prettier than Joan Baez. How could he cheat on her? He speaks very highly of her in Chronicles, I bet she was a great girl...
So real, so painful so cathartic...thanks Bob, for being so honest and brutally authentic. Your art breathes life into mine and my life speaks of your truth, for this I thank you.
This is probably the most honest love songs I've ever heard, it would have been a shame if he hadn't put it on the album. (I'm writing this from my bf's account. I'm 2bluevalentine)
If he had left it alone, he wouldn't be dylan. This is a true masterpiece. So many women and men can relate to that. Me especially and I have loved it even before my first real breakup. Great song. I think he should have said that about Idiot Wind. HAHA!

Ah, my friends from the prison, they ask unto me
"How good, how good does it feel to be free "?
And I answer them most mysteriously
"Are birds free from the chains of the skyway"?....

日本のシンガーは本当にくだらない陳腐な歌詞しか歌わない。
それに比べてやっぱディランは最高。

An absolutely beautiful song. I have also, like countless others been able to relate to his exact words. Cheers Bob, all the best.
