ok! nice work. You did a hard job with limited sources in a spectacular way. Awesome. I am proud of you brother. nice, nice! KEEP IT UP. Do more, i want you to touch the peak in the world of DYNAMICS and MECHANICS.
@northstar002002; My dear brother, I think I am not qualified enough to answer this question of yours, but one thing I know will share it with you that caps are not used with DC motors but In the DC motor controller U will always find large capacitor(s), which protect the MOSFETS of the controller from back EMF of DC motor. I am not good with calculations, therefore, please ask professional help re. 500watt AC motor cap.
One more thing; in AC motors, you have to use the right size of cap or it will heat up the motor and will shorten its life. Caps help to purify AC and acts like a container to store electricity. That is all I know and have shared it with you bro.
Okay thanks...and please let me know some more....how much we can travel on 12V, 75Apm battery with this motor? And what is the power of this motor(in amp or watts)?....Last but not least how do u speed down?...Is there no chance of burning of this motor when u go on little speed?.....Cheers
@Numberonebikeslover Dear:- Why can't we use AC motor up to 300-400Watts instead of DC motor? I guess we can convert battery DC 12Volts power into AC 220Volts......Can we?
@northstar002002 Well the DC power can be converted to AC through inverters and converters but at the cost of great loss of electric power. You know an inverter/converter/UPS kind of thing can be 60 - 40 % efficient, which means it loses about 40 to 60 % power. Now just imagine, how much power loss will happen.
Arif Alauddin AS MD Enercon Pakistan, was responsible for embezzlement of USD 85.5 Million. Case was registered against him in 1991. Nevertheless, with the blessing of the then Minister Environment Asif Ali Zardari, the responsibility was shifted to a Clerk and assistant Project manager. Same clerk was asked to burn all relevant record and after two months, Arif Alauddin had arranged his permanent immigration in Canada.
Yes Bravo! A Clockwork bicycle! Ignore us ignorant Americans =). You truly have the spirit of invention! Something us Americans don't appreciate until it's stolen and re stamped with a "Made in China" sticker..
@JoeVSvolcano Thanks for the appreciation man. Doing good to humanity with my talent. Making transportation system environment friendly and loving planet earth, So help me God.
Beautiful kind of steampunk beauty, reminiscent of french complexity in design. This is a museum piece, and you explained it well. I'm amazed with you ingenuity and skills.
great work man, keep it up.. i know it's the 1st version, i am sure you'll modify it more in your next versions or series.. once again, keep it up... and great great work done.
How impressive Naeem!! You see we need more poeple like you who are willing to take the initiative to explore oppertunities and options to make life better. Please dont let anyone discourage you, keep up the good work and i wish you all the best. Its minds like yours which would eventually going to bring about change in pakistan and i'm proud of people like you :))
Thanks for the appreciation brother. You know, people even abused me while I was building this electric bike. But I think I have the ability to go against the wind. And so true that a stronger wind can carry you much higher. That is what happened in my case. Even Mulanas of my area think I am evil person. You know that is what happened when Right Brotherans made their first airplane. The religious sect said that they have created an evil creature. Thanks for appreciation.
asalamu allikum naeem can u tell me that which motor did you use in ur electric bike and also tell me the anser that can i use exhaust fan motor of sewing machine motor for my bicycle. my id is adilkhanwazir@yahoo.com
my dear brother: Beauti is in the eye of the beholder. No fence but I think you are trying to say to the entire world that ‘only a donkey would say that’. What ever you say represents you, so please think before you speak. I respect every human being on this planet, regardless of his cast creed and religion.
@YoLninYo Thanks for correction; No state of the art hub motor or RC brushless motor (most efficient motors) used, instead parts collected from junkyards were used. is less then 115 USD expense. The objective was to create something from nothing. Junkyard wars a programme of Discovery Channel type of thing.
Not bad for a home based science project! :D You deserve media projection as a budding inventor/ entrepreneur.
Perhaps you could work on the aesthetical aspect and try make it more lighter too as it looks pretty over ladened.
FYI. Check a news item in today's The News "Electric bikes on a roll in China" (AFP) Its quite interesting. Beware don't let the Chinese beat you to it by flooding Karkhno market with their version!
Thank you very much for appreciation. Due to continuous improvement of different aspects of my bike sets my mind off the aesthetic aspect. I want is: Very low cost, Efficient, Maintenance free (low maintenance and available parts in market), comfortable and unique design. With these aspects Im confident to beat Chinese. Im a proud Pakistani who wants to make a very low cost transportation system for poor people of Pakistan. Wish me luck brother.
Hello. Why not use a spring-mounted, belt-driven CVT instead of all those gears? A CVT like that was commonly seen on Honda and Peugeot mopeds since the 70s. This seems like a very complicated system for a pedal-assist bicycle but a great job nonetheless!
Thank you very much for your appreciation and the idea of using a CVT. I'm already working on it. The basic issue is of efficiency, most CVT's in small bikes are less efficient. I'm using the same idea but have used a rather different strategy by using gears and chains, as i get a shape of it i'll make a video to share it with the rest of the world. Thank you again.
Thank you very much. it seems like i'm not able to send my contacts through youtube comment page. i've tried erlier but it seems it gests filtered. it is nickfay2 at the rate of yahoo dotcom
Excellent e-bike. Well done gear reduction design! I am very impressed. My regards from USA. Congratulations on your science awards. My I ask the how many winds of copper wire for the motor, as you mentioned you re-wound the 86 Corolla fan motor. Thank you, Well done there in Peshawar (Pakistan).
Thank you very much for your appreciation. Well, its 23 turns of coper wire No. 21 SWG. The motor has enough room for more and I think that with 27 turns it will give more power with 60 volts. right now with 23 turns i'm giving it 54 volts but i suppose it is the maximum end and 48 volts would be safer. It is one hell of a tough motor i must say. Its been running for about 4-5 years now. Thanks brother.
Thanks for commenting on my electric pusher trailer. I like your design because it uses the bicycle's gears to give it more power. Good use of gear reduction. What kind of motor are you using?
about your Trailer, " A thing of beauty is a joy for ever" Commenting on your trailer is an honour and pleasure for me.
Living in a city of Pakistan where not a single person know about electric bike, it is impossible to find an e-bike motor. It is a Fan motor of 1986 Corola's Radiator fan, re-wound for e-bike purpose. It took me a lot of trial and errors to reach this point where i'm getting monstrous power from this motor. I'm no electrician or any engineer so i've to learn/study to do it.
thanks! It is my dream since my childhood which has come true. To serve humanity in the name of Allah (God) is my aim in life. remember me in your prayers.
