that's the factor here I guess it probably is, but the point is they do have a use bombing waves of soldiers over a larger distance than conventional bombs or pitting runways so planes cant take off. Anyway if there to be banned? have they been fully banned?....If Politicians really cared then they would try and avoid wars in the first place because lets face it civilians will die in a whole other load of ways but wars make money and there will always be threats so they wont end anytime soon.

Bombs have killed civilians indiscriminatly, much more over the years than cluster bombs or land mines, look at London, Berlin Dresden etc but oh no land mines and cluster bombs are the most evil things on earth. Yeah id hate to have them go off on me months or weeks after they been dropped. Then again how is dying from a laser guided bomb that you happen to be near the target at the time any different? (i.e. command centre or whatever right near your house) Is it just the delayed death factor..

Cluster bombs are very effective tool in certain tactical situation (Large amounts of combatants spread over an area). When victory is to survive and death, is defeat.
