I love how people constantly say Near and L are alike but they're not really. Mello and Near both take the two loveable parts of L: passion and ability to dig deep and annalyze, and took them to there extremes becoming the opposite of each other. <3 Near :)

In the movie L change the world, L find a a boy whos village was destroyed along with his family. That boy was a genius, Before L dies he takes that boy to Wammy's house (The same place L came from) And names that boy "Near" When L dies Near becomes his successor. Thats how the movie goes. I didn't liked Near before because he was L's replacement but after seeing the movie I now know about Near and im happy to see him as L's successor when he dies. L is pure epicness. v-v

Well he does look good ,but Ohba said that he left everything about L's character design to Takeshi Obata, artist of the series. Obata asked Ohba if L could be "unattractive." I think he IS attractive , but they tried to make him unattractive , thou they failed :D And I didnt mean alone as in he doesn`t have a gf , detectives are all like him , they don`t care that much for their emotional life...I`m not saying they`re all like that , but most of them are.Still , L`s my fav anime char. ^^
