How does the C6Z make so much torque versus the mods? Seems it makes 15-20 more tq than other LS7's with comparable mods.

What all is done to the C6 to make it lighter? Those are really hard cars to make light as they are already lighter than most.

It doesn't really make that much more tq than Z06's with comparable mods. I have bigger longtube headers, though. Most have shorty 1 7/8" headers, I have 31" 2" headers. It's also been tuned by one of the best Corvette tuners in the country :D

larger headers tend to make LESSER torque and more horsepower so your statement doesnt seem to add up. Especially when you are looking at peak tq as we are here. Funny I just saw a cammed C6Z the other day and he was making low 5XXrwhp with 479rwtq.

Everything I've ever read said that longer headers make more tq but less peak hp. However, larget diameter headers flow more and usually make more of both. I have the best of both worlds with 2" primaries, and 31" longtubes.

As far as the cammed Z goes, sounds like it's not tuned well at all. A cam only Z should make no less than 530rwhp and 500wtq

Hey Lankhoss. Quick question since you're on the subject of cams. Why is it that cammed Z's in particular have that sputtering sound at idle? Almost as if the engine is going to die.. Excess fuel at low rpms maybe? Just taking a guess.

I'm not quite sure to be perfectly honest with you. If the car is not tuned after a cam is installed, it will not sound very good. The cammed/tuned Z's I've heard sound pretty good, actually.

thats known as a lope...when the motor sounds as tho its going to die...mostly when the motor is cold that long stroke from the performance cam almost does shut it off but really its just pulling that much more air through.

That makes sense. But doesn't a cam primarily effect fuel flow? It's the tune that corrects A/F ratio correct? I could be wrong. Thanks.

I don't know.. lankhoss usually throws it down but this doesn't make much sense. Search for my video versus a c6 with 463rwhp and me with 465rwhp. the difference was alot. We both drove the cars hard and we both had a passenger. Good friend of mine too so no sandbagging!

The video is a little misleading. I was spinning much worse than him and had to "catch up" every race. He has also done a few things to make it lighter, so it's hardly heavier than my car. We went again when he had 25 more rwhp, but I dead hooked and was still able to edge him out.

483 hp with only mild cam ,intake and exhaust !! impossible r u talking in dyno hp ?

stock Z51 c6 get's 360 hp on wheel maximum 40hp cam , 15hp intake and 10 hp exhaust 15hp tune total = 435 HP where did another 50HP came from ? @@

It has ported stock heads, they flow very well. It dyno'd the #'s in this video.

LEAVINU's car is badass....looks great, sounds great and it is clearly fast...he saved about 20 grand too. Both are beautfiul, but I love Red and Black.
