@TheS13freak woah there 3 inches is way too much there. Youd loose so much power if you opened up your car that wide unless you were backing up with a turbo. id say no more than 2 1/2 in. id go about 2 1/4 for a little more back pressure

u can cut out the muffler and strait pipe from the cat back with a wider pipe.....then the last foot put the stock width back on to compensate or even gain any back pressure ull loose and put a bigger nicer tip on...

you all should check out what a mazda 3 sounds like with a cut out. i installed one in mine and it sounds just like this one with the cut out plugged then a diesel engine opened up at the track.

no hp lost i cut off my rear exhaust on my 08 mazda3 s touring and im going to get a new muffler welded on. it sounds good not real loud but has a nice purr 2 it u wont get better gas milage cause u will always wanting to be reving it in higher rpms cause it sounds sweet

hey man thanks for this video i did the same thing to mine based on what you did to yours. Haha i spent more on the tip than i did on straight pipe. I went with 2.25 pipe where the muffler was.($30) Got a magnaflow doublewall tip from the guy for $50. Its originally like 100 bucks. steal.

speed 3 is a beast on gas especially if you have a lead foot, the regular 3 (i got an 08 3 sport) is awesome on gas and has plenty of power for me at least until i can really afford a speed 3 which i dont like having 450-500 dollars on a fucking car payment, thats stupid, the normal 3 has everything the same as a speed 3 except the engine and a few interior differences, i drove both, was very impressed with both so i went with a smarter option

Virginia to be exact.... what i did is the muffler is cut out and straight piped in place of it... then i just added any kind of tip on the end cutting off the old tip... gas mileage still is same infact if you read on the forums i started noticing better gas mileage some how ( beats me ) It may be illegal in some areas just to let you know

no i really like that cause i know in other peoples cars ... driving for more than 10 minutes can really be a pain .. on normal driving its no bother when im over 2500 rpm in 4th + 5th gear .. so basically it sounds real nice when im accelerating then when im at my desired speed i can drive unannoyed
