Poor Kishikawa, looks like he didn't understand anything XD after beating Boll he could have won against anyone but Ma Lin... that's another world... And not really the same style:
Service Ma Lin, return, PAF!!
Service Ma Lin, return, PAF on the other side!!
Service Kishikawa, return, topspin, PAF!!
Service Kishikawa, return, topspin, PAF on the other side!!
why kishikawa stand so far away from the table to receive serve? What if they serve a fast ball to his forehand?Other player can do this, but kishikawa is too far for that
kishikawa is a fabulous player and im sure his footwork would be top notch, if only he was fast enough. and since hes not tall like samsonov, he just cant play a successful blocking game against ma lins extreme placement.
those are probably the people who couldn't make the table tennis team, this chubby Seiya Kishikawa guy almost got into it but his tt skills are a bit better than other losers... when he's retired from tt, he's probably end up fucking or being fucked at SOD
Poor Seiya, he couldnt move right nor fast even if a T-Rex were chasing him, though he has an efective backhand and some wierd strokes that give some weird spins.
Not a bad match. I agree that Kishikawa was quite passive and some bad returns. He does have a great backhand. Now...not all of his returns were too high. Ma Lin just shows what a 3rd ball attacker is all about and committing to hitting that 3rd ball no matter what comes back. If my opponent returns 1/3 or 1/2 high balls, I would gear up to hit anything back.
if you use Chinese rubbers, you would know that the red dye reduces the spin potential. Chinese players want max spin since straight arm loop provides so much more power than chicken wing hit.
in my POV, people using red for forehand have it all wrong =P
@xilpa Actually if you could just play like Ma Lin you would be the perfect player... because Ma Lin has a wonderful RPB he just doesn't have to use it all the time.
Kishikawa has pretty good BH strokes :) But as you said, he has quite bad footwork and seems like his body isn't so fit like some other players such as Wang Liqin, Joo Se Hyuk, Ma Long, etc.
Of course he has, he's a 22 year old player, Ma is nearly 30 and one of the best of all time... Anyway, he has to improve TO PLAY Ma, the difficulty is often the combination of styles, not the sum of individualizes skills... Waldner, for instance, has lost nearly all matches against Guoliang and Ma Lin, so did Samsonov, and they are both more talented then the chinese.
sick-ass backhand by by seiya kishikawa at 2:29...but ma lin is just too strong!

But, I had heard that it wasn't much for spin as for Tackiness I Think.. I heard once that the red dye affects tackiness.

Kishikawa has won Timo through crazy forehand rallys. I think it can be the new in the 10 top soon....

Compared with Jun Mizuani and Kenta Matsudaira,Kishikawa has not been recognized as a promising player in Japan.
So I (as a Japanese) am glad to hear his progress by English Open. Please don't call him troll though his play is not cool.

@Lovett9x You mean he looks more like someone, say, Ma Lin? lol. Maybe Ma Lin is an inch or two taller, but pretty similar looking.

@Lovett9x exactly. idk if it's his ability or size, he doesn't adjust well to high arc loops.
samsonov or wlq would probably beat him easily

Sure, that's probably how he manage to beat chen qi and boll in this tournament... What a bunch of ignorant comments on Seiya
vitor1271 2 years ago 7
Yeah, I was extremely surprised that he bypassed Timo Boll!
I expected him to do better against Ma Lin after that performance >.>
stevenjiii 2 years ago 2
i am referring to this match. Ma lin just hits the ball where he is not standing thats why it looks like Seiya is not commited to the shots he plays.
Cheunges 2 years ago
Sure, but that's Ma's quality: he doesn't allow his opponents to play their game, just look how Kreanga plays Ma Lin, he looks even worse then Seiya.
vitor1271 2 years ago 7
So that means Ma Lin standed is a lot better then Seiya and that In order for Seiya to win he needs to improve a lot of things.
Cheunges 2 years ago
