Je suis sourd, je vois pas mal de commentaires ou certaines personnes sont choquées, mais avez vous lu la vidéo jusqu'à la fin, voire les dernières secondes..
If your children is completely deaf, he won't use his brain devoted to the hearing, this part of his brain will be replaced by other senses development.
If your children is implanted at 8 years, he will certainly have a better hearing than at 18.
I found also this video selfish. Why don't give all breaks to your children instead keeping him in a deaf world? Honestly what prevent him to conciliate the hearing and deaf wolrd as I do ?
Hello, I'm from Belgium. I speak english 'caus it seems you're using an automatic translator to understand/speak french.
I'm deaf and i've a cochlear implant (I'm 19 years old).
I found your video very interesting, but (if I understood well) I completely disagree when you say to let the choice to the children to have surgery at 18. The earlier possible is more advisable, because the children (and his brain especially) have more time to adapt oneself to a new hearing.
Thank you for viewing my video and sharing your opinion.
I have a question here. What about hearing aids? They are much safer than cochlear implants along with countless risk factors during and after surgery.
In my opinion, wearing hearing aids at early age and getting a cochlear implant later are strongly encouraged.
I had hearing aids, but they are not highly effective as the cochlear implant.
They don't prevent the falling-off of the hearing. With the implant, the hearing don't change. That's why I get implanted.
I agree with your opinion, but sometimes hearings aids aren't sufficient or become insufficient, in which case, the cochlear implant is a little bad for a lot of good.
Agreed - between the fact that hearing aids don't have a magnet inside the head moving around (yes, they move) in a child's malleable developing brain and the fact that independent studies on CI are pretty much inexistent (so CI vs just hearing aids vs other methods like CS are borderline very very expensive placebo), and the fact that they're a billion dollar industry that does a lot of astroturfing and fake-charity-projects to line their pockets... I stay wary.
captions about french .. so i am sure in France and Quebec Canada will understand you but i am just wondering what about Spanish people in america such as Spain and Mexico want to know what your story is about .. .. have a nice day

The video with Spanish subtitles already came out after this.
Now, I'm working on Russian and Chinese.
Have a good one, too! :)
