  • Hey man, thought you might be interested in this piece of work! Also check out my channel and let me know what you all think.

This is an excellent piece of work by the way!

  • I find it astonishing how guitar players like urself can make such beautiful sounds..How can u play so many different sounds so clearly so fast? It astounds me at times..ok all the bloody time mate..Ur awesome dude..Keep the vids coming..I love the accoustic stuff personally..

  • you would love Ewan Dobson. you probly know a lot of the same licks as he does. your sound is somewhat similar to his and the same picking style. nicely done.

check out john clark as well. one of my favs.

  • Hey man you got some chops! is that a bit of Tommy Emmanuel influence coming through? You will be snapping at his heels soon, I would happily pay to hear you play! Keep up the good work and keep the vids coming!

  • @bassbeasty Yep he is a great influence of mine. Im more of an electric guitarist but tommy is the man when it comes to acoustic. Such a humble guy for such awesome talent

  • awesome dude

  • Great job, I love your interpretation!

  • Is this the opening to REN & STIMPY?

  • On your way to being a CGP.

maybe the axe or the mic but the fast/high stuff doesnt resonate so well. what gauge strings 11's?

The one thing I noticed about tommy is that his hands are extremely strong even though he has soft hands. He attacks the guitar with ferocity and no regret... the notes ring through with power. Do that and you will be unstoppable.

I enjoyed listening all the same.

  • excellent! i love it

  • per me il voto è 9 (non ti do 10 per un pelo)ottimo controllo di corde bella dinamica

  • Not bad. :D Two Thumbs up. :) I like the way you play it.

  • Well, it's interesting...

  • Nice style man, keep going!

  • if you played that in the pre auditions even if you did make a few mistakes your definitely go on the tv shows, take paul gbegbaje for example, nice sense of blues there. Im hezron and I do my piano compositions and im pretty confident about getting through to the tv, they asked me to play a known song and I did simpsons, the producer thoroughly enjoyed it. :) good luck

  • @hezy131 Wow thanks for that, i find out in February how it all went

  • AMAZING.

  • When you play remind me in some way trace Bundy

  • @angelgalvanlopez Hey i just checked him out, what an awesome guitar player!

  • A pleasure to listen to! You have a bit of a Chet Atkins sound, thanks for sharing! XO

  • @ThePeachy2 Im a big fan of Chet atkins, he is a great guitarist!

  • You've got talent alright! Good luck with auditions!

  • you should try lady madonna thats my favorite one to play, i just picked out his version of day tripper yesterday and guitar boogie awhile ago, i love tommy emmanuels style i think hes the best guitar player

  • Comment removed

  • I dont feel as thou your playing it for me; but for yourself. as people wanna feel the joy and pleasure that you get when you find "that feeling" or "that tune" whatever you call it. make it a once in a life time experince for people. doesn't have to sound the exact same evertime you play it or you might as well put it in a cpu and sample you music and let the cpu do the work. its the screw ups people feel and relate too musicans or not. "let it all hang out"-dimebag

  • Very nice great job you will make it for sure

  • Very nice playing mate!

  • Alright, instantly i noticed your sound/strum is impeccably clear, cause even my strumming isnt as toney as the first couple of seconds. But yea, your scales and licks kick ass, id love to jam with you man. Thanks for the message, you picked the right guy mi amigo.

  • Hey, this is really nice man.

  • well....pretty friggin awesome, what else can one say? Can you do a slow tune just as well? Nice playin. I think I'll have a couple of beers before I consider that a lesson. Thanks.

  • Reminds me of a young Tim Reynolds. Keep playing my friend. You have a great talent!!

  • Brilliant!

  • @Jazzawray Thanks for the comment my friend, tell ur friends about me :)

  • well played,tommy e. would be impressed,enjoyed it,thanks.

  • the self compression in that guitar is a bit overpowering, I have never hear a great sound from a sharp cutaway acoustic of that type, I khow its expensive but it sounds like a mid priced Washburn and on the bland side like the bulk of acoustics out there, get yourself a doyle Dykes Taylor or similar to cut through, overall close enough but up to speed yet, regards

  • some constructive comments I hope, I can see what you are at here, at times is too fast for you at 3:18 for example, not clear enough because you are going too fass, you have to nail those notes down at that speed, sounds a little fakey at times, some of the runs are not clear enough, not nailed down, the choice of chop cords are not full enough between passages,

  • Thanks Rex... some very fine rubber fingers you have.

So pleased you sent this and good luck with the future

  • Great job Rex!!!! Thanks for your great guitar playing ability...hope you do well on BGT!!!

  • You asked for my opinion--you have amazing dexterity in both hands and you are playing an amazing flurry of notes with amazing fluency--but you need to learn to make it MUSIC. There was never a point in this performance that made me want to tap my toe or move with it. Your real groove is still locked away inside a technical barrage of notes--let it out and you'll be great!!.

Just an opinion from an old guy--keep with it and you'll be really great!

  • great job! I hope you win!!

  • Wanted to know my opinion?

    Tommy Emmanuel composition brilliantly chosen.

    In general, all cool!

Keep it up! =) (Sorry if I wrote it is unclear from Russia)

  • FLAWLESS!

  • SNAPS! That was GREAT!!

  • Awesome man ;)

  • Is that a Seagull guitar? Ever hear Danny Gatton play this tune set? nice going dude

  • Great stuff! I like the bit where you integrated DAY TRIPPER into your song.

  • 素晴らしい!

  • Hey man! Really love the video :D Hope you do great on your performance :)

  • you're great, compliments!

  • You're one heck of a guitarist!! But, what's that song gonna do for you? Songs are heavy in lyrics now a days, and need a danceable feel. Feels like some old school 'pickin' from back in the day. Maybe be a studio musician? Nice work. MILES better than I'll ever be.

  • Great Playing reminds me of Tommy Emmanuel in style...i wonder if with some of the runs they are so fast maybe your not connecting with the string?...however better than i will ever achieve...keep it up...GF

  • I like your guitar playing. You have a lot of talent. Seemed a little rushed in some of your runs maybe nerves, but overall I enjoyed listening, I think you will do well.

  • Really good. I liked it a lot. It is clear that you have amazing talent. As far as this particular, performance, in my opinion, you tried to put too many different "styles" into it probably to demonstrate what you were capable of for BGT so understandable. I liked the subtle inclusion of the "Daytripper" riff. Best of luck. Hope you make it onto BGT!!

  • Oh wow. Hammer-ons were good. Awesome job ^~^

  • Nice

  • Forgot to say aswell, nice guitar mate!

  • I like it. It shows some major talent there. In fact, it reminds me of one of the great Steve Vai's songs (I think it's Taurus Bulba or something like that, just search Fire Garden Suite and you'll probably find it). Keep up the good work! ;]

  • Thanks for the invite to view and comment. I appreciate it. I will be very candid in my comments as I would imagine thou would expect nothing less. Firs t off, the production of this video, including the split screen, sepia filter, and great audio are very well done. I agree with most of the individual's on here that you are very talented, but you appear to be more focused on showmanship than you are on executing on clean sounding notes during your riffing. I has played for 27 years, and that'

  • @chem7121 I agree totally with you , not enough focus on clean sounding runs

  • @Howardsend88 @chem7121 Thanks guys i agree with this totally. I can play it totally smoothly most times but as this is 1 continuous recording the last few runs were a little off on this particular take that. My next video will be flawless, with you watching/listening to every move its even more motivation to accept only perfection. Thanks guys for the great feedback

  • @RexPearson1 fair play to you, my comments were a bit harsh, you are a fine played and far better than I,I know a good player when I see one, thanks

  • Awesome! Really great playing! Best of luck to you! 8o)

  • Wow that was quite amazing; it has a great rhythm and melody throughout! Terrific work, you sure had pulled me into the song.

  • @leoncioviolin Thanks for the comment my friend, tell ur friends about me :)

  • Superb Job. Love the split screen and the look. Tell me about your guitar. Looks beautiful.

  • @donaldtharp The guitar is called a euphoria EP9, they dont make them anymore but i love the feel of it. Only negative is the projection, its a pretty quiet guitar

  • Very good. You got what it takes. Now go out and get it.

  • @bossm109r This actually made me stand up, beat my chest and run out the door!

  • This was refreshing, an ovation to you, however, sounded a little to much like Tommy Emmanuel for me. Still....I could listen all day brother. Keep up the amazing work.

  • @uraniumnostrils Tommy emmanuel is the biggest acoustic guitar influence i have so i guess it makes sense i sound a bit like him. I'll keep you posted on any new video, but be warned. There all very different!

  • Great job, can't help but feel it's too good for BGT....

  • @culltim Lol thank you, i do doubt if its what they are looking for. Im really just trying to raise awareness for guitar players by representing at the competition. I dont really expect to get in but was a fun day out

  • cool, love the feel, it should be explosive boggie, cheers The Makem Folk Singer

  • @TheMakemFolksinger haha explosive boogie has a nice ring to it! i might just change the title :D

  • most videos i get in my shared inbox tend to be untalented musicians, you're far from that. Thank you.

  • @readifer Wow awesome comment Thanks for the comment my friend, tell ur friends about me :)

  • some serious technical stuff. quite nice playing, but people wont like sweeps on an acoustic for example, for it does not sond full... there is also some bar-chord playing that neither sounds full nor nice even though it's damn hard. some notes are not clean when you pick fast and your muting is uneven sometimes... makes it sound a little messy.

and for all those haters: you did really well! i couldn't play it, but you asked for an honest opinion. not my style but nice.

  • @noonesenemy89 Thanks for the comments my friend, I'll try and keep it all on board for the next time

  • Hi Rex, I got your email, thank you for asking. Obviously, you and Sungha have very different styles. I think you are very talented and will go along ways in your music ventures. I think you are a little better than he is on the neck. He is more deliberate, but you are faster and have more dexterity. Best wishes and keep on doing what you're doing. Andy (PaidSpook)

  • @PaidSpook1 Hey Andy thanks so much for your thoughtful comment. i'll take it all on board for my next video

  • yo Rex, sry i did not answered before, dude u r fucking great, that sounds really good!

Dont forget to let me know ur new videos ok ?

    Peace dude, c ya!

  • @Blessedize What an awesome comment thanks so much! i'll make sure to let you know about new videos. Youtube only lets me post bulletins so i guess watch out for them!

  • @ramiz110 Thanks for the comment my friend, tell ur friends about me :)

  • Rex Rex Rex! You missed a note in the 5th bar !!!!!!!!!!!! Lol (Joke) seriously that was really awesome playing man, you are very very talented and I hope you do well for BGT, you make it all look sooooooooo easy to us lesser mortals who strive to play a fraction of what your doing, there was quite a lot of very technical stuff you were playing there, top job, and again best of luck. Keith Uk.

  • @123burnsflint Haha damn it i missed a note!!! The BGT audition wasnt the best as my guitar went out of tune mid performance due to the abuse i gave it! not sure how that will be taken but i will find out end of February!

  • Top stuff Rex.... Shared it for you of course! :) Been promoting the site for you on FB too... Hope the audition goes well. God bless

  • @ZimboDoug Zimbo you rock for doing this! dont forget to add me as a friend on facebook to if you havent already. Its always good to chat to people who enjoy the site and the vids

  • Spectacular performance! The groove and rhythm had me bobbing my head and foot tapping the whole time and I especially loved the picking. Brilliant mate!

  • @MichaelCastian Haha great stuff, its a very upbeat tune, whenever i perform this live it really gets the crowds going!

  • The more i hear you play. Not even shred as i first heard you. My opinion has changed totaly from wow this man is good to total embarisment, cuz i thaught in my aragence i was maybe pretty good

but now having watched this video i see my skill is lacking big time. You have a god given gift my friend, you may not know it but some people will aspire to this and never make it. Enjoy your gift and please continue to share it because if you dont think how many youngsters will miss out.L&R

  • @SuperDiddzz Wow what an awesome comment, you made my day when i read this thank you so much. I've never really felt very good and maybe thats apart of why i keep playing.

  • Awesome! I'm glad you are my instructor!

  • @TheLynn1959 Thanks lynne im glad to have a student like you!

  • @HAYDS510 Anytime thanks for the comment!

  • Intro was a but out of time and some tension noticed in your right hand ... But otherwise I am sure that tommy would jam with you... I don't know if he is living in Melbourne .. He was in London for a while... You should contact him. Goodluck

  • @guitaruleswebsite Thanks for the comments mate, Jamming with tommy would be an absolute dream. even to have him watch this video would be great.

  • very very nice i wish i could do this.

  • @paintballer5634 Learn at RexPearson. com ;)

  • Well, I've been trying to get there for ten years now, since the day I got my Fender six string but have reached my limit. I can't pick passed the into to Dust In the Wind. Can't quite get the "I Close My Eyes....." chord. That's my limit. Some of us just don't have your talent, but thanks for the positive comments. Keep up the great playing. I would say "Good luck", but I really don't think you need it. Take care!

  • Veeeeery gooooooooood!!!! I personally prefer best the part that you play slower, but you're really good and fast with your fingers!!! I think you can do anything you wants with the guitar!! I'll definitely share it on facebook! (Sorry for my english... it's been years since I studied that language...) Good luck and I wish success and win!!! ^_^

  • @GreatValia Wow thank you so much for the comment. This vid has got more views than most of my song lessons. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment!
