To macarilemaricon1994: Technically it's a name change made by Nintendo, since the translation (found on the EB0 rom) for Gygig was Giegue, but the name Giygas was chosen to fit the trauma that Shigesato Itoi had planned it to be. (Since this was because of him going to the wrong movie one time. His memory was blurry of that moment, and he thought it was a rape scene. Explains the "Baby fetus" comments. It was actually a murder scene. Search it up for more information.)

I think it's a reflection of Giygas' obsession with Ness and preventing the prophecy. Maybe his mind wasn't entirely destroyed by the evil that he had become, and what remained was the central aspect of his goal: Ness.

Actually, its true. The whole, fetus thing. If you think about it, the kids needed robotic bodies to go back in time to fight Giygas. Why? They needed to be much smaller to go inside of the cervix. The Devil's Machine is the ovaries and cervix, and Giygas is an egg inside of the cervix. Look at the layout of the level the next time you play. Also notice that the area outside is a hole between two white columns.

He has a point, and the background image of Giygas' final form is undeniably a sonogram-like image of a fetus, now weather or not Itoi is pressing abortion is not known, I doubt it was meant as him saying that he supports it or anything, but it is reasonable to think that there is some imagery here that reflects the womb of a woman, and going in to destroy the "fetus" that is giygas

Honestly... while I think the whole 'fetus' theory is an interesting one, that's all it is; a theory someone came up with that's gotten a little out of hand. Even Itoi, when asked about this theory, said the same; it's an interesting thought, but that's it.

The cervix-like face of the devil machine is just that; a machine that kinda looks like a cervix.

Giygas may vaguely look like one, but he is NOT a fetus, and there's no underlying message here. He's just a swirling, red face of evil.
