Coming from a huge and long time Fedor fan, i will say that yes he did get koed and yes he lost this fight. I would like to also add that this wasn't the Fedor I had chalked down as one of my favorite fighters. The Fedor that showed up that night (last three for that matter) was not the precise deadly Fedor of a few years ago. Fedor came out to kill and swung with reckless abandon, he was not picking any shots that night. He just wanted that quick easy win. Not to discredit Hendo at all.
@imtehshit hendo looked AMAZING in imho. Hendo picked his shots and left most the exchanges with more shots landed. Henderson is also a big favorite of mine and I am glad it was him to beat Fedor this time around. It makes this so much easier to swallow.

It was a very legit stoppage and I've yet to hear any fighter say differently (apart from Fedor of course). Bas Rutten, to pick one example, found the stoppage to be absolutely correct and Bas is a guy that's on the "toughness" side of the sport. @clbeob before the knockout hendo pushed the cage with his right leg to move forward quickly on top of fedor while he was grabbing fedor right leg so cage was a tool here if it was ring it would have been different story the same type of situation on werdum fight fedor tried to escape from the triangle choke as he used to do in the ring but he was too late to find out cage was different and once he collided against the cage werdum quickly sank the triangle and it was over.

there is no standing 8 count in mma. you don't get to recover once knocked out. Congo's legs buckled, but he did not hit the floor face first and go unconscious for a few seconds. It was the right call - Fedor was KO'd.

that's the thing homeboy, the refs are not supposed to wait for the fighter to recover...this is mma, not boxing. the main reason is for fighter safety. getting ko'd right after being ko'd is when real neurological damage can take place... as far as the hits, it happened in rapid succession during a scuffle, so illegal or not, dean was concentrating on fedor's face to see if the fight needed to be stopped.

The fight was stopped too early. That was my initial thought seeing it live. In replay, he did go limp for a sec, so I understand why it was stopped, but before the ref jumped in, Fedor had already turned around to his back and was in he process of trying to tie up with Hendo. Fedor got hurt, no doubt, but getting hurt in itself has never been the only criterion for stopping a fight. The fact that Fedor himself thought it was stopped too early only reinforces my thoughts, he has no reason to lie

stopping the fight was protecting a fighter who's nervous system shut down on him while a fired up dan henderson was ready and willing to throw more bombs.
I don't believe it was the right time to stop either. It seems quite suspicious Dean would stop it this early. I think Herb Dean could have waited a few more seconds. Henderson barely gets one or two punches in and Dean stops it? Seems very odd to me...
remember after dan ko'd bisping, well he "barely" got in one ore two more punches before he was pulled off an unconscious body. stopping the fight when fedor's body went limp was the safest and most professional thing to do.

Coming from a huge and long time Fedor fan, i will say that yes he did get koed and yes he lost this fight. I would like to also add that this wasn't the Fedor I had chalked down as one of my favorite fighters. The Fedor that showed up that night (last three for that matter) was not the precise deadly Fedor of a few years ago. Fedor came out to kill and swung with reckless abandon, he was not picking any shots that night. He just wanted that quick easy win. Not to discredit Hendo at all.

It was a very legit stoppage and I've yet to hear any fighter say differently (apart from Fedor of course). Bas Rutten, to pick one example, found the stoppage to be absolutely correct and Bas is a guy that's on the "toughness" side of the sport. The ref can wait for a fighter to wake up and come to not just for the sake of rules to judge who's winner & loser, but for fighter safety. A visibly concussed fighter is done and should not be allowed to carry on for various reasons. He wasn't rocked or just fell...he was OUT. END OF FIGHT. No question.

Fedor did face plant, and even though he recovered, and even though Herb was a little quick to stop it, it wasn't an egregious stoppage. Just a quick one... Oh, and Herb doesn't need to help him stand, you're reaching... The whole process took about six seconds, from Fedor pounding on Hendo to Fedor standing up like "WTF HERB?" Bad stoppage.

@clbeob before the knockout hendo pushed the cage with his right leg to move forward quickly on top of fedor while he was grabbing fedor right leg so cage was a tool here if it was ring it would have been different story the same type of situation on werdum fight fedor tried to escape from the triangle choke as he used to do in the ring but he was too late to find out cage was different and once he collided against the cage werdum quickly sank the triangle and it was over.

And anyways.....if you watch the fight again you can see that after the initial shot Fedor hits the ground and then Hendo hits him with two illegal strikes to the back of the head. Whether Fedor was already out or not is up for debate, but those last two strikes were illegal.

that's the thing homeboy, the refs are not supposed to wait for the fighter to recover...this is mma, not boxing. the main reason is for fighter safety. getting ko'd right after being ko'd is when real neurological damage can take place... as far as the hits, it happened in rapid succession during a scuffle, so illegal or not, dean was concentrating on fedor's face to see if the fight needed to be stopped.

Fedor did not move for a full second and took 2 punches during that time, that's when Herb Dean began to step in, while he was beginning to push Hendo off, that's when Fedor started to move again. Incidently, the Kongo fight should have been stopped earlier, Kongo actually got KO-ed but a follow up punch woke him up, not very good for fighter safety, but a hell of a finish.

The fight was stopped too early. That was my initial thought seeing it live. In replay, he did go limp for a sec, so I understand why it was stopped, but before the ref jumped in, Fedor had already turned around to his back and was in he process of trying to tie up with Hendo. Fedor got hurt, no doubt, but getting hurt in itself has never been the only criterion for stopping a fight. The fact that Fedor himself thought it was stopped too early only reinforces my thoughts, he has no reason to lie

He sees that a fighter went limp, thats when he has to jump in there. Yeah fedor turned around and tried to defend after but once a referee tries to stop a fight, he has to follow through even if after it could be questionable. Otherwise henderson could have complained that he had fedor in a tough spot and herb dean screwed all that up

Just look at Berry vs Kongo. If that was stopped early we would have never seen the real winner. It is very possible Fedor coulda made a comeback but now we'll never know.,

I don't believe it was the right time to stop either. It seems quite suspicious Dean would stop it this early. I think Herb Dean could have waited a few more seconds. Henderson barely gets one or two punches in and Dean stops it? Seems very odd to me...

remember after dan ko'd bisping, well he "barely" got in one ore two more punches before he was pulled off an unconscious body. stopping the fight when fedor's body went limp was the safest and most professional thing to do.
