If your beloved DJ shadow manages to be relavent after 30 years, maybe then he'll get to play his full set. He's a DJ - any twit with enough gear can do that. Show some respect to SY - they've earned not, not some lame DJ.
While I respect your opinion, I think that 26 years as a band, 15 studio albums (one of which "Daydream Nation" was inducted into the Library of Congress National Recording Registry),and a loyal fan base that spans three generations, makes them a lot more significant than any DJ will ever be. On second thought, I don't respect your opinion and think it's completely without merit. Check out The Year Punk Broke and tell me who was riding who's coattails, dumbass.
go learn something because sonic youth was out and big before nirvana was. nirvana actually opened for sonic youth because sonic youth was the main band to see. if anything..nirvana road sonic youths coattail how you put it. but they are both original and respected in all ways. if you like nirvana then you should pick up a sonic youth album. cuz you will see similarities in guitar work and rebellious mood. cuz that is what rock really is. rebelling against the social class

i was there too. I am a DJ, but SY owned as usual and yes Shadow did suck, but he did have to try to play while Bjork was!
