This video is misleading. First a R1 can't do 190 miles an hour and neither can a busa. I own both, the funny thing is they both top out at the exact same speed. It will top out at 189 on the speedometer, which is of course in correct due to speed errors. The bikes can both actually do that if you get a speedohealer or similiar device to recalibrate your speedometer. The biggest diffrence is how quickly they get to top speed and that is where the busa win, unless of course the rq is modded.

@davviscool speed is the same no matter how fast you are going. The wide angle camera lens makes things worse but there is still about a 20mph difference between the 2 bikes. IF the Busa is going 30mpg faster then the R1 would be going maybe 165-170. It takes a lot for a busa to go an actual 200mph. That busa is pulling away at about a rate of 20mph imo. The same if you were standing still and someone drove past you at 20mph.
also, im sure he isnt doing 190mph. although it indicates that speed on the cluster, there is a pretty good margin of error. maybe more like 175-180mph. Busa was probably going 185-190

i had a 2000 busa i to heavy to be to nimble but still good fun it depends what you want your bike for had bikes since i was 16 and love em had so many each 1 had its own plus and minus points ride safe guys
fish-eye camera makes it look like the Busa is passing a lot faster. I have ridden both and the Busa just isnt as fun to ride as an r1 or even an r6 for that matter. It is a bit more comfortable though Busa is just too heavy with a curb weight of nearly 600 lbs, which is the 2011 spec...earlier models were pushing 900lbs!!! Thats twice the weight of an r1. And having taken both bikes to their top speed, stock for stock, the Busa is only about 15 mph faster and impossible to steer at high speed.
@notanythingful No busa has ever been 900 lbs. Stock 1999 - 2007 was 475 dry. Around 540 wet. The second gen is actually a few lbs heavier, though I can't recall how much. There are plenty of mods to make them lighter, no... you will never get it to be as nimble as a liter bike or a 600, but that isn't what the bike was built for. It's incredibly stable at high speed, comfortable, fast, agile, great for long trips. It does everything well. A perfect street bike.

@tinyicebox1 Ha! Have you been to a real track? LOTS of people take both! The 250 is the best bike for a tight track, and the bigger liters are best for fast sweeping tracks. The 250 has it's own cup! Where I live there is a tight track where motards and 250's rule. I suggest you go to a track sometime. 600's have their place, but that is reserved for the bigger tracks and then it's mostly the liters that come out on top. The busas are pretty funny to watch on a track. Look so slow due to size.

Because if your talking those new CBR 250s or Kawi 250s are garbage....I walk around them on track with me RD350LC, yes I realize its 100cc bigger but the motorcycle is 28 years old. 250s are for women, and/or new riders to get their feet wet.

It is a bit more comfortable though Busa is just too heavy with a curb weight of nearly 600 lbs, which is the 2011 spec...earlier models were pushing 900lbs!!! Thats twice the weight of an r1. And having taken both bikes to their top speed, stock for stock, the Busa is only about 15 mph faster and impossible to steer at high speed.

@notanythingful No busa has ever been 900 lbs. Stock 1999 - 2007 was 475 dry. Around 540 wet. The second gen is actually a few lbs heavier, though I can't recall how much. There are plenty of mods to make them lighter, no... you will never get it to be as nimble as a liter bike or a 600, but that isn't what the bike was built for. It's incredibly stable at high speed, comfortable, fast, agile, great for long trips. It does everything well. A perfect street bike.

@theguythatcould Actually, on a tight track with a top speed of busa being about 100mph with a ballsy rider; I still pass on every corner with my 250. On a fast sweeping track, it has a way better chance. The Busa is just not built for hard corners.

@tinyicebox1 Ha! Have you been to a real track? LOTS of people take both! The 250 is the best bike for a tight track, and the bigger liters are best for fast sweeping tracks. The 250 has it's own cup! Where I live there is a tight track where motards and 250's rule. I suggest you go to a track sometime. 600's have their place, but that is reserved for the bigger tracks and then it's mostly the liters that come out on top. The busas are pretty funny to watch on a track. Look so slow due to size.

Because if your talking those new CBR 250s or Kawi 250s are garbage....I walk around them on track with me RD350LC, yes I realize its 100cc bigger but the motorcycle is 28 years old. 250s are for women, and/or new riders to get their feet wet.

aint sure if thats accurate reading of speed. on saying that travelling at 170 on my blade felt no different to on my mates zx12r at 190mph so its hard to tell. all i know is that its still fucking fast!!! this is still a good video to show a non biker as one dude said if that busa past a bike at 190 like that, thats some damn busa!!

This can't be accurate. By the way the 'busa passed, it had to be going well into the 200's.
Those white stripes would be one solid ass white line at 190. And I could tell that was a van he passed. If he was doing 190, I wouldn't be able to tell at a shitty frame rate what kind of vehicle that was.

@SJD87 I had a old old ninja 500 when I was like 10 to bust up and down the road with (I live in Vermont, no traffic) I had it up untill this summer, it had like 60k miles, totally beat. I still got that thing up to like 100, she'd start every time. I dumped her and broke the frame and a whole mess of damage, she still runs, but not driveable. Totally a beast. Kiss my ass Honda.
