  • I cant save my map :/ and while trying to save it crashed a few times and i lost everything i made

  • @MrPixelparty The thing you need to learn about UDK, and you need to learn it fast is that it crashes A LOT! So constantly save your work.

  • what should i do for create a triangular fluid surface?

  • I most recently got the latest UDK BETA and I notice that you got alot more materials to work with! I watched your terrain tutorial and I dont have that sand texture. Here I don't have the water texture you used.

  • Lowest volume ever.

  • Love your vids, but having a problem on this one,

The fluidsurface actor shows up fine in the editor and in the "play from here" thingy, but it doesn't when in game, it just isn't there =/ invisible? left out? i don't know

    Any help is appreciated

  • Really low audio but it's not really a problem with headphones.

  • When i go to content browser, there is no water texture even when i look into the content browser.

  • @TheTerraTitan me too :(

  • Hey, ive came back to unreal after not using it for a long time. Updated to the August beta. and when i add "Create fluid surface actor" i get a small stamp logo with arrows. i don't get the large square with the Default Texture any more.. why is this ? and how do i use it :S ?

  • hey how do you do a bullet impact on the water? i have been try but nothing happens

  • I was wondering if you could help me out. I am trying to make a fluid surface rise, like a puddle filling up. I tried to create a matinee sequence with a movement track, keyframing it in a higher position, and it seems to work correctly in the matinee editor. But when I try it in the editor, it doesnt move. I also tried changing the physics to interpolating as well.

I have a simple trigger volume linked up to play in kismet. Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

  • all my meshes and objects have bits of red on them and on the initial screen when i make a new level, it has loads of red lines all over like a grid. i wonder if you or anyone knows what the problem it and how to get rid of it, thanks

  • @SniperAnim Did you ever find a solution to this problem? I'm having the same problem...

  • @sUcCeSspr0ductions someone mentioned it might be to do with my graphics card isn't good enough or i haven't got the most up to date drivers, so that seems to be the only solution so far

  • @sUcCeSspr0ductions I just updated my graphics card drivers and it fixed the problem perfectly. red lines gone. WOOP!

  • Thanks for the help with these videos :) Me and a friend made a map today but we need sky.can you make a video on how to add a skybox?

  • ummm, i have a question (please answer soon). when you're making the hole in the ground at 0:53 seconds trhough the vid, i cant figure out how you did that. and when i try, it doesnt work. could you please type the instructions on how to make the hole in the ground, in a reply comment?

  • "It's very, uh... bouncy." -raven67854

Haha, anyways thanks for the vids bro.

  • Just wanted to give you a thank you. You give people trying to learn this on their own while working over 40 hours a week hope, Great JOB!!

  • how to aply matterials to it

  • raven what uhh video card do you use? because it says to me that it does not work with my shader model 2

  • Do you know how to make the fluid surface actor round for something such as a round fountain?

  • Hey man.

How to create fluid surface witch will respond to touch pieces fall off the wall.

  • Why are the some materials that can't be assigned? I made a water material, and I can't use it on a fluid surface actor.

  • Are you using fluidsurface right?, do you know why when you drag and drop a rigid body, the body doesn't float? it fall with the same gravity a velocity than in air

  • you need to put a water volume so it will act like water inside

  • Raven your videos are very good.

Do you know how to make enemies in UDK? People to shoot at? if you do please help me!

  • how can i make 3d riplle...like in crysis.icreated mega realistic water but the only left thing to do is 3d riplle how can imake it.?

  • Great videos Raven, although my only critic is the audio volume, in this video it's so quiet, then you move onto another and it's really loud - you need to adjust the volume levels of each video to be consistent, please? :)

  • All new video's are loud. Older video's are quiet.

  • @raven67854

In older videos you're living with your mother, on new videos you have your own apartment. Ok just joking mate :) great tutorials.

  • That's great, but if you scale it up to make a large body of water, the material scales with it, creating large waves.

How do you make a large body of water?

  • hey what does debugging do?

  • the grid that the views are on, on the right side. how do you change the grid count. because when i try to line up the lines of the two boxes, i cant because the grid that its trying to snap to is too big.

  • @xld3000 nevermind i figured it out

  • I can't get the second box to line up directly with the first.

It screws everything up as well.

  • Hey love your tutorials helped me out alot. Any chance you could make a tutorial on how to add in some basic AI. I have a map but it gets boring when there is nothing to fight.

  • um i have a problem when i try to move anything its realy jerky like not my comp is slow its just i have no precision like i am stuck on a grid or something

  • Hmmm I am not sure what your problem is. Are you only able to move the object on one of the axis? If so then let go of ctrl. Otherwise I am not sure what your problem is.

  • no i can only move things by one square on a grid i cant get any more precises then that

  • I am not sure whats wrong then.

  • In the lower right corner, there's a bunch of snaps (grid, angle and percent)

you can either tun off the grid or lower it to 1 like raven has done.

  • I keep it at 1 always for precision. You can also use [ to lower the grid size and ] to raise the grid size

  • Raven you're amazing, I've been searching online for a few days now trying to find some tutorials to teach me basics and later some more advanced things, then I found some of your tutorials, you've helped a lot. I'll definitely be checking back to see some more tutorials, thanks again.

  • Thanks

  • Ooh, a new tutorial. You're quick raven. Way ahead on the ballgame.
