This video takes me back to my childhood train rides in Louisville ,Kentucky. I especially liked the silence at the end and just listening to the sound of the train on the tracks. :)
this is so cool...but I would like to see what all the beds look like open, like before you go to sleep...but very cool...makes me want to take the train
@amtraksouthwestchief Sorry to disappoint but....I am only a Station Host Volunteer. I do not work on the train nor film Amtrak as a railfan. I Had the opportunity ( off duty of course) to give a tour so I took it , but my position is only at the train stations in Dallas and Fort Worth. I am looking to apply at Amtrak when I'm out of high school for an employee position out of Chicago ( Central division). Thanks for the comment though!
@HWY287Productions They should promote you to on board rail Marketing or something. I really enjoyed my You Tube travel by rail with you. You explained things and have anwsered my questions. Also it was quiet and you were talking in a great tone of voice for this video! Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much for posting this. This is really amazing and helpful video.
But I have one question... I'm planing to take a one way ticket to one state to another state, and I believe it's going to take me 3 days to get there. So I might be getting on 2 trains. When booking a train ticket, will they just give me my own room or do you have to pay extra to get your own room? I would hate to only sit threw out the whole train ride. :(
Very impressive video! I take the Capitol Limited quite often, as my future wife lives in Pittsburgh, and ALWAYS get a Roomette. Its worth the extra cost; I took a Coach seat once from Pittsburgh to Chicago, and I won't ever do it again! Thanks for such a quality video!
Really a great video. I'm planning a trip from Memphis to Chicago and am planning to get Bedroom accommodations. I loved the real-world feel of your tour. It covered all of my questions. Thanks for such a wonderful demo of the Superliner Sleeper experience.
thanks very much it was quite helpful and imformative.this what i like to see before i buy tickets. it gives you a good feel and what to expect, so there are no surprises..
Thanks for your very informative tour. Very well done. My wife and I are going from St Pete FL to Seattle and return in April. Bus from St. Pete to Orlando, Silver Meteor from Orlando to Washington DC (Viewliner Compartment), Capital Limited from Washington DC to Chicago (Superliner Bedroom), and the Empire Builder from Chicago to Seattle (Superliner Bedroom). Then 4 days in Seattle with a side trip (via AMTRAK to Vancouver BC and return) Then the whole trip in reverse back to St. Pete.
@rowabl don't worry about it- thanks for commenting, I will be doing updates of this video along with separate videos for lounge/ dining car service and the coaches. And i will be sure to get the room numbers & bedroom letters correctly next time- thanks!

Very informative. The only thing I can think of for improvement would be showing some of the more scenic routes. Thanks!
