  • It's such a shame. All these cars used to be someone's pride and joy at one point or another. Just another great example of America's consumeristic disposable society at work.

  • i wouldnt normally care because its 4 doors, but this is a 4 door hardtop no post

  • Come back side pipes!

  • to bad this car wasnt junked in missouri. we can get titles on cars here.

  • im not big on 4 doors, but its a shame that some one junked it. looks good still.

  • poor car

  • 4 doors are not cool.

  • @s46d45m17 what?! the hardtops are awesome!

  • cut the vin out install a new 1 be done with it

  • Looks like some car from Cuba!

  • @dmx011 That's because all they use in Cuba are cars from the 50's.

  • 3 words...

    ITS FOUR DOORS!!

  • im so subscribing to you

  • the 4dr's have no window frame? that only applys to the bel air trim?

  • That was my car... i miss that car. hey do you think i can buy it back? I miss the sound of those side pipes

  • I wish somebody would steal that car and re-vin it, to save it from those bureaucratic A-holes!!

  • what if... you... buy all of the parts and then rebuild it yourself? haha. is that a felony?

  • so cant you dis assemble it (parts) then re assemble what constitutes parting out only ?

  • what a waste, it could be used as a project car for some kid

  • break into the yard after hours and steal it.

  • It makes me sad to see such great cars with so much potential left to rot, rust, and be destroyed

  • texas dont rust?

  • FUCK THE POLICE!!

  • Wow ..one way to get around "dismantle only " is to sell it to a buyer overseas. In Australia they would pay top dollar for that car.

  • My guess is someone commited suicide in it or its from a drug bust. Theres no other reason for cops to seize a car thats in perfection condition.

  • oh the stories those cars could tell... makes a person who loves cars about half sick to see them sitting there rotting away. one of these days if i ever get enough money i'll go pull every one of those old cars out of there and see to it they're made perfect.

  • My grandma got one Chevy but nomad and its still in her garage bec she cant drive

    -_-

  • Good day

I used to work in a salvage yard years ago. "We" mainly took older autos..really for scrap metal, sadly..not many calls for part sales.

We had 1930's 50's and many running 1970's models with CLEAN classic engines like "455 Olds" 460 Ford..350 Olds Chevy etc.

Sadly all were crushed except 1 350 Olds, & 460

Rusty floors & fenders kill autos here!

Owners son had 3 Chevy's there. A 64 Chevy II same colour as in vid, a 67 Caprice, 67 Impala

    Also Classic Chryslers 440's etc..

  • Rust FREE - does that mean you get the rust for free? On no rust?

  • Hey there !im from Liverpool England and i cudnt beleive what i saw when i watched your video! what such a waste of a beautiful car! surely its been over 30+ years since one of these cars were crushed!

is there car still there today do you know??

    im speechless such a shame!

i own a classic 1970s frod myself so i know what its like to see something this beautiful in a scrap yard! it happens to be my favourite EVER motor aswell!!

  • I've been at that wrecking yard before. Found an odd Corvette station wagon conversion once.

  • Why could they not get a legit ownership, with tags & just rebadge the car? Other than that, what if myself, my buddies...uhm Bo, Luke & Cooter decide to buy 25% of the car each, then decide that we'll build a "custom" with all our legally purchased parts....what then???

  • hate wrecking yards cant sell you a whole car you know good stuff i seen a Cadillac probably a 61 four door

  • I just saw this car today, Jan.13th, 2011, and it is still sitting there and intact??? I forgot to ask about it, I'm hoping there's a change of plans with it??

  • @restodan i'd hate to see this car crushed

  • @restodan Hey Dan! Always watch your videos. I live in Grang Forks ND and we have a salvage yard outside of town that has between 12-30 1955,1956,1957 Chevys all rust free (no salt here) and mostly complete. So many you cant see the end of them from were you stand! Also 1945-1954 all makes and 60s+70s muscle of everykind. But the owner is impossible to get along with no matter how polite you are, he's not very well liked here in town.Went looking for 2 stock steel GM wheels to set my 55 on, $200

  • @restodan "dissassemble" it put it in a container and send it to Australia i'll have it & cruise it with pride !

  • @restodan is it still there?

  • It sucks the car has to be parted out like that because of the previous owner

  • I LOVE that 70s chevy pickup

  • I used to have one of these 4 door hardtops in 1975. I was just 16 and was a wild man behind the wheel! lol

  • man ima cry seeing that beatiful car just pieced away like that :/

  • My dad used to have a 66 Chvelle.. There not so easy to find in that year I hear..

That car is still crusing around my home town of Powell River B.C. Canada. All done up now. Unfortunatly the people who bought it are trying to make an SS out of it.. So most of the intirior is black now, and the 4 speed on the colum is making way for a hurst floor shift soon :( but it`s still the same old car I loved as a kid..

  • thats just sad.....you cross the line when you destroy a 66 chevelle....

  • thats just sad.....

  • I say, SCREW the law, your governents does! Hide the car somewhere for a period of time, I'm sure there's ways around it. 57s are so common it'll get lost in the crowd.

  • I'll bet if a KIA rolls in, they'll save that!! Bastards!!

  • i'd buy all the pieces one by one!!! lol

  • I live about 25 miles from this wrecking yard. I have been there several times, but this is new to me. The 4 door shares the same wheel base with the two door. You could cut and modify the body and make a two door convertable with almost every part you need available through remanufacturers.

  • It's a damn shame it happens this way, but you're right about someone maybe seeing you with that car and making trouble over it.And at least alot of people will get good parts.Still, if it were my junkyard, I don't think I could resist hiding it in a building for awhile until I could find a clear title and VIN for it.Not that I would EVER switch a VIN...

  • haha its got 2 different side pipes you know it was a teenagers with enough money for any random parts hahha

  • great vid Dan

  • this car should NOT BE PARTED OUT!!!!!!!!!! this is rediculous

  • daves farm could've fixed this up :(

  • found one like this at back of the workshop covered in dust.,just opposite me..i asked the guy how much he wanted for it...he said 12,000 euro ..he said he could cut off the top if i wanted a comfortable!!!!

  • found one like this at back of the workshop covered in dust.,just opposite me..i asked the guy how much he wanted for it...he said 12,000 euro !!!!!

  • For things like this, there should be a forum where people from overseas can buy all the "parts". For example I'm in the UK, someone in Texas buys all the parts and shell, puts them in a crate and ships them over. It would cost close to $2000 but for that I get a rare classic to restore and I avoid all the problems you would have re-licensing it over there.

  • if you want it buy the body then the chassis then the motor then suspension

  • What if the car could be sold to Sweden for example, could it be saved ?

Sad it only can be used for parts.

  • i cried a lil bit

  • legally you could buy all the parts and title it in another state.

  • @datzfast Yeah I was wondering about that or at least title it as experimental.. Or just break the law and find a true junk one and swap vins..

  • 4 door, who cares, good for parts only anyway.

  • I want it!How much?

  • Would somebody PLEASE save this car? Offer a Hyundai instead!!!

  • Are those Trans-am wheels?

  • Fuck that!! I would run in their with a tow truck and tow that to my garage no matter what happens. Classic cars are not to be crushed! Classic cars are still in this world. But how many? Exactly! Keep every classic car no matter what condition it is in!

  • There is got too be a loop hole around this stupid law. The part off that 57 the one I want is the car ::cough::: Part ::::

  • a part off that 57 the one I want is the car ::cough::: Part :::: Take out the dash slap in another one that is junked. I know of a Junked 4 door 57 that is too far gone rusted out with a good dash and Vin #s intacked onwer is an very old man that can't drive no more for many years and has the title to it just aliitle mod and that 57 in this Video has a new Vin number. SAD 57 STORY on this 57 one.

  • all ya need to do is buy all the doors, hood and trunk lid in one purchase and the rest in another purchase. get it home and put it back together. then get a title from broadway title.

  • im not from texas, but...god bless that state

  • I see something I want on it, THE WHOLE THING!!!!! XD

  • only the police could fuck up like this, making that poor girl sit in pain like that *sniffle*

  • Hi, What is this car worth as-is if the title was rebuildable, or clean? And what is it worth fixed up?? Thx

  • fixed up? well this is a 4 door hard top. i would say depending on if it is a bel air or not. maybe 40,000. 1to 100,000 but it has to be a right restore. a frame off base clear and everything . watch barret jackson on speedchannel

  • i am looking for junked saturn 2005 ion :D so i can put my better seats in my 2003 ion

  • id take that bel air and those MC's real fast. I also spotted a 78-79 mc like mine in your video

  • Yeah, what a stupid law. There should be exceptions for American classics. Sometimes i hate white people and there stupid rules. Like someone said somebody should be able to take it to another state to avoid death.

  • ...I hear ya, I don't like everything my own kind does, and there are many laws that people who have nothing else better to do or worry about, come up with. But, too much BS was happening when seized classic cars were bought at auctions, to new owners, so, now, dismantle laws are more common. Bottom line here, don't do stupid stuff if you own a classic car and if thats unavoidable for some, make sure there's a joint owner on your title, to make it harder to be siezed. PEACE!!!

  • @restodan what a shame! i dug up a 210 57 back 1997 in Sweden! i had been under ground for 30 years Tom

  • @egocrusher Chill with the racist rant. You make me cringe, you ignorant piece of shit.

  • @egocrusher whit peaple did not make all the dam mother fucking rules so fuck of ps im white thing is a shame that it will be gone to

  • well here in alabama that car could be saved but i understand what your saying about the risk theres no telling who the prior owner was and your right could be trouble for anyones family if the prior owners buddies seen someone else with this car but dangit why a 1957 chevy why not a pinto or a ford or some jap scrap oh im gonna be crying now seeing this car lovers everywheres gonna be mourning this loss big time let us have a moment of silence for this classic loss r.i.p 1957 chevy

  • what a waste of a classic , what ghetto bunny put 77 trans am rims on it??

  • I have the land Rpeek, you just come up with the boatload of money and we'll be in business!

  • It wouldn't require a title up here, and if a gangster wanted to drive this far to make trouble, I guess he'd have it coming.. haha. If I had a boatload of money and a lot of land, I'd drag home all the old cars.. haha

  • thanks for sharing....sweet yard alot cool classics...seen alot of old school mags too as you were walking around.

  • A person from out of state should be able to take the whole damn car! What a waste of a great restorable car!

  • I'll bet none of it gets wasted, they will probably sell every part off it and that will help others get there classics going. I don't look at it as a waste, it will save other classics, ones where you don't have to worry about being seen owning it. Its a shame that some cars have to be siezed, and sometimes I feel sorry for the people, but some of them, nobody would feel sorry for, they may be that bad, ya never know.

  • I swear if anyone takes any parts off that car, im sewing people for Rape.........of a classic car.

  • Heres the problem with these police seized vehicles, if the person it was siezed from, or one of his buddies, caught you with their old car, there could be trouble, you might get shot?, you don't know what the story is, it could have been someone who died or abandoned it, or it could have been a hardened criminals car, I don't think it would be worth the risk!!!

  • @restodan That what paint is for. and other cosmetic changes are for.

  • @THOMASOAKMAN Dude, this car was already raped in the 70s ... look at those hideous wheels & interior.

  • i want one of those monte carlo body

  • Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!

  • I think i just died a little inside........
