  • @Keeper1st If I'm not mistaken that looks like the Ice Cream Shop in Sutter Creek. I went there on vacation a few years ago and had a great time. Does Tom still play there? I love the way he plays!

  • @EricJDuarte Yes, Tom plays there one night every odd-numbered month except November, plus of course during the Sutter Creek Ragtime Festival in August.

  • Ohhhhh! YEAH!!! BIEBER SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!! >_< |m|

  • Не плохо. Привет из России =)

  • Just add more tags like "Tom Brier" and this vid is going to have many more views very soon. He's great.

  • I'm very impressed with Tom's skill!

  • He may not be a looker, but i bet that guy is banging hoes all over the place.

  • Thanks for posting this video. He plays it beautifully. Talk about improvisation :)

  • this is his best in my opinion, too bad its so hard to find :/ better tags please :)

  • oh gosh i hope/challenge to transcribe this. PLEASE.

  • super!

  • Despite the piano sound being what it is, it was simply mind blowingly good!

  • Великолепно! :)

  • Even the audience of stuffed toys is mesmerized!

  • Fabulous catch Ron, and amazing as usual Tom!

    Love it!

    RagJazzMonkey Tom

  • Even his beard is epic

  • I wish I could play like this :(

  • I never knew this much about the Tetris theme! Could you make a hi-def recording of this possibly? You DO realize that you can easily sell his interpretations of game music on iTunes? His twist is just so unique and incredible!

  • Omg he improvised that? I thought that whole song was shoved into that little sheet. I was thinking the whole video... 'How can this song fit on there? What?' I have no music experience whatsoever. Amazing, I loved it.

  • I am the man who arranges the blocks that continue to fall from up above....

  • The whole thing is great, but 3:50 is just magical!

  • @ 2:51 bike, bike, bike, nigga stole my bike, bike, bike for those YTMNDers.

  • he kills it @ around 2min in. WOW

  • Could you ask him how many years of practice (and how much he practiced per day) to achieve the status of being able to sightread so easily? I would very much appreciate it.

  • You sound a lot like Todd Howard.

  • from the side he looks like the guy from epicmealtime. :L

  • ILL.

  • Reddit!

  • 4:44 THE PIECES ARE COMING TOO FAST!

  • Someone please buy this man a 100k grand piano.

  • Get the man a piano that wasn't in the back of a Uhaul 10 mins earlier.

  • @210Bubbagump I do have videos of him playing nice Steinways and Yamahas. Unfortunately these meetings take place in the ice cream parlor where that nearly 90-year-old piano gets a pounding on a daily basis, so it's a little the worse for wear.

  • @Keeper1st Honestly, the worn tone of this piano makes it sound all the more awesome. I can almost see the swirling smoke of an old-timey saloon in the old west. :-) Love this guy's work. He's really an amazing talent!

  • @Keeper1st Hey, as Rolf of the Muppets says, "I love it when they're out of tune!"

  • @tertiumsquid As a matter of fact, from this same session, I also have a video of Tom sight-reading The Muppet Show theme...

  • @210Bubbagump In all honesty it sounds better for ragtime to have the piano sounding worn.

Gives it a warm fun feeling.

  • I can forgive you the fact that the game is from 84 and not the 90's because the music is so amazing. I'd love a high quality version of this minus the laughing and adding the missing low note as the default theme for tetris over the original theme any day.

  • Dude has got some crazy chops.

  • I bet if you said that this is Tetris rather then Коробушка, you would have so much more views

  • If there's one thing I never get tired of, it's how he never just ends a song. It makes for the funniest song endings I've ever heard.

  • @TackyRackyComixNEO Yeah, it's kind of a gauge of how much he's enjoying a tune: How long of an ending he makes up.

  • This is really the most epic ending xD

  • something from phenyx wright or professor layton would be awesome !

  • man tom is so good

  • Can you get him to play Hungarian Rhapsody no. 2?

  • @thehardme Heheh... probably not! But I think I do have a video of him (in a group) playing Hungarian Rag which is based on that.

  • tom is a true genuius! this video blew me away! there is no other like him!!!

  • is there anything this man cannot play?

  • Can he play anything from pokemon ?

  • @diasslo Can he? Almost certainly. Has he? No.

  • @Keeper1st ok :C

  • third page.

  • calling it before the views explode ~

    ;) Amazing stuff, as always.

  • Very cool! It sounded a bit like Rachmaninoff there for a second. I'm going to once again plug the idea of tom playing the Third Man theme.

  • Reading your description made me look up the lyrics to this.

0_o who ever knew, the Tetris theme...

  • @hi19hi19 doesnt it sound like tetris

  • unreal lol that is amazing

  • It was a regular Korobushka. Then it was a Waltz, now he turned into a friggin ragtime, then some other genres that i dont even know. Someone list what i missed?

  • @phanteon198 After the waltz, he did it as a half-and-half (five beats per measure).

  • HAHA! How delightful!

  • I was :)

    Then I was :D

Then it got to 4:43 and I was :O

  • This man might be the greatest pianist I've ever seen. Definitely one of them at least. If you're thinking of trying another Russian folk song, I highly recommend the song Katyusha.

  • 0 Dislikes... A typical Tom Brier Ragtime.

  • Loool this is amazing!

Just yesterday I read on Yahoo news how this was actually a Russian folk song

  • That was sexy

  • AWESOME... again :P

  • In one word, INCREDIBLE!

  • LINE PIECE!

  • hahahhah at 5:47

  • Wow that is awesome! I sometimes run out of keyboard in high notes because our bluthner piano's highest key is A and I usually play my digital piano which has standard high C.

  • thx for uploading and sharing all these awesome songs with us!!!

    keep on filming^^

  • I love it, and can't stop listening! You might need to slap the word Tetris in the title or tags to spread the word a little more. Great stuff, the Super Mario World ending theme rocks too!

  • they must put this song in the tetris games that would be so epic

  • Tom is the most remarkable and likeable rag time pianist I have heard in years. Of course there are many other out there that play alongside Tom and they are all brilliant. NOw if my memory serves me right this is a varaition on the Russian Song called Troika that Ivan Rebroff made famous

  • awesome perfomance.

But that's not the most famous song in Russia.

It's most known in the West.

In Russia we haven't got origial tetris, cause thomething we could play it on cost very much ad now we dont use original content, couse can get it free)

  • THIS MAN IS MY HERO. I wish I could do anything this well

  • 1 word: AWESOME

  • I've been playing the piano for over 20 years, but when I see Tom do stuff like this it just baffles me. I wish I could reach the tips cup from over here!
